I remember when my mom used to work at lorton back in the 90's i was you so I dont remember to much about it but I do know that it was CRAZZZZZYYYYY as shit from all the stories she used to tell me

I remember when I was little I saw a man escaping from that prison I really didn't know what to do I told my mom to call the police and they did and the police came barging with special force all that stuff and I didn't know if he got caught

I did time in Occquan, Big Lorton and the Wall. It's over now. Just think about the ones whom dead in Lorton. Never to return home.

I spent 27 years+ as a Corrections Officer working at the various institutions at Lorton, mostly in Maximum Security, and also the DC Jail and then I retired. It was a pretty good job back then, but I don't miss it one bit now.

Sorry I meant it closed in 01, I was 23 in 01 and you are two years older than me, so that means you were 25 when it closed in 01? Is that your kids profile there or something? It does not add up? Mid 80s you were how old if you were 25 when it closed down, I doubt you could go to prison at that age you said you were in. Just checking because so many fakes on youtube and I want to know more about this jail since I live near it.

excellent video about the history of the prison! I still remember when I was real young driving with my parents down to Occaquan when that section of 123 was still 2 lanes and seeing all the razor wire, inmates shooting hoops, and guard towers. Looks so much different now.
