My God, this looks so amazing. I absolutely adored Doom III. The increased difficulty seems to make each encounter all the more pant filling, which is definitely a good thing in my book. Besides, shooters are way too easy these days, even on the hardest difficulty setting, and I am by no means a headshot hero.

Today all the games have that bloom effects, blur and shit. It's just for hidding the shitty textures and their inabbility to make something decent. It's like, putting a paperbag on your eyes.

PAY ATTENTION : for those who have bugs or graphic artefacts with this mod (like black or white screen, small display in the corner of your screen, permanent zoom). Turn Off your "Catalyst A.I." in Catalyst Control Center if you own an ATI video card.

i have never turn my ATI Catalyst off and it works good. if i turn it of my graphics are a lot less sharp

so you dont have to do that. but yes if you pc is not fats enough than it is a helpfull trick.

This is no bullshit because I experienced myself some graphic issues, and turning catalist AI (and not catalist center) off provides good results (and doesn't decrease graphics). And BGFGR told me this worked for him, so that's it. It's a trick that some may appreciate.

Others don't have to do this, like you, and that's all. Not need to be offensing.

@slamkam07 Serious Sam and Pain Killer were more "Doomish" than Doom 3 was.. lol Not that Doom 3 was a bad game.. but it seemed more of a dynamic lighting/graphics tech demo than anything else. Doom 4 with Id tech 5 will be BAD ASS though! The original Doom was a corridor shooter BUT there were also large indoor and outdoor levels and waves of enemies. Doom 3 was pretty much just corridors and few enemies.

@brandon9271 It was just corridors and few enemies because they wanted to make it a big scary horror game. It was more about atmosphere than running and gunning your way through the game. And despite the games repetition, it was pretty scary and had a pretty creepy atmosphere. I hope they continue the horror thing in Doom 4 but just fix the flaws that Doom 3 had. (repetition, no flashlight on the guns, etc).

But I heard they want 4 to be more action oriented than horror, which is disappointing.

First you need a computer that is capable of handling graphics like this. Plus its not knowing about graphics, all you do is download and extract the file and put whatever in that extracted folder into the main folder of the Doom 3 game. It's a mod. Your settings may look like crap because either 1: Your computer doesn't have the power to output this mod or 2: You need to tweak your settings your "Config" so that the game can actually process the settings you choose

@aegypticus2 Yes. Because Sikkmod is a piece of shit. I use HDR= White Screen. I use Motion Blur= Stretches out everything. Depth of Field= Distortion..... Yeah. So I don't use it.

@NFSKing I have core2duo e8300, GTX 460, 2GB RAM DDR2, and even without HQ textures( only with sikkmod) MY fps are 15-25 on 1280x1024 (4:3 monitor) So, I think you will have the same FPS on that resolution :D

well, my sikkmod only gives me a blurry black screen while the sounds are normal... the high res texture mod only opens up ressurrection of evil but the graphics are the original ones :D

So much for mods... I think the mods work only for "modders" because I don't have plans to put any weird ass cfg.pt dfx.cd fucking files to some portable jibba jabba file integrated with a another file.... people should make mods that you install, and select and voila.
