I understand your frustration with the movers. The last time I moved, one of my wife's prized possessions didn't show up and they had no valid explanation. I enjoyed the video. That is one special plane.
@RicardoNY1 Ricardo, thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of my models. It has been about 20 years or so since I've been able to build any stick & tissue models due to the condition of my fingers. Some years ago, I tried some foam models, but it just wasn't the same and now I'm out of it completely. I live in the Tucson area and have never met any FreeFlighters out here, only RCers. The wonderful fields that we had back East do not exist here. Thanks & best to you.
@stojiny The art of building in smaller scales. freeflight, even from kits is certainly on the decline, but there is a charm to it. I have limited experience in this area, but do plan to explore what was pretty much before my time. Your scrapbook is a huge loss, I cannot even relate, but the loss does not do away with all the great memories, knowledge and experience accumulated throughout those years. People will certainly catch a tiny glimpse of it here with this video you shared.
@RicardoNY1 I read your comment, had some things to do, just started thinking about bending balsa for wing tips, rudders & the like. Making parts from carved foam wrapped with tissue & then some CA to dissolve the foam. The model that I finished at 2AM on a weekend, covered with a new material that was a translucent milky white. There was a full moon high in the sky & no wind, 28deg.F & the little CO2 motor sputtering took to about 60 ft. I can still see the light shining thru the air frame.
@RicardoNY1 That comment ended up in the wrong place. You are so right. Great memories are really great & I have a great deal of them. It is too bad that I got better at taking photos, had I not, I would now have more "scrapbook rejects". You have the interest, so give it a try. Considering today's economy, it is an inexpensive way to have a lot of fun. Good luck, Stojiny
