  • This is like a prisoner of war camp - no wonder it closed down.

  • @WillShakespeare2007 Basic accommodation yes, but places like these made holidays affordable and therefore within he reach of this masses. This video doesn't show the beautiful location on the shoreline. Millions must have holidayed here over the years and this place holds many fond memories for generations. I haven't spoken to anyone who had stayed there who spoke with anything other than praise. Not really that like a prisoner of war camp appearances can be deceptive. Thanks for your comment

  • Why have they removed all the baths and nothing else?

  • @bugaboom Good question, I guess it could be because they have removed all the copper pipes to stop people coming in to steal it. And maybe the piles of baths advertises that.

But it also added a surreal atmosphere to an already fascinating place, which maybe served to attract people...thanks for your question.

  • I worked at Warners and St Clare holiday camps in the 80's. They became Harcourt Sands. Its sad to see this video. Had a good laugh working there as a plumber. Happy days. Lots of jobs gone for ever. Is this really Progress ?

  • This video must truly be a lament for you in that case, given that the results of your toil lay dis-guarded in piles upon the ground (the baths)

It is a sorry, and strangely surreal, sight, to be sure...thank you for your comment
