  • @tommytrc it basically is up to the discretion of the other parent and we get no say whatsoever.

  • ...See, the way I see it, if you work for it and the CSE says that Child Support is mandatory and "helps establish a bond" between you and the kids, then should you not have the right to be aware of HOW your children are supported? For them to automatically garnish your wages and completely deny you the right to information you SHOULD have rights to, they're imposing a disposition and a label on you to begin with.

  • @joshlc2003 its a tangled mess for sure!!! Does my support money go to the new PS3 or for clothes? Why does the dad no get more control?

  • @tommytrc It's definitely true that many deadbeat dads have spoiled it for the rest if us. However, what I think would be ultimately fair is if there a reporting or accounting system in place to assure the DOR/CSE for the noncustodial parent that the funds were indeed used for the children...

  • The nightmare I go through with Child Support in MA is incredible. I'm going to fight for custody. It's going to be tough considering the kids are in Texas. Why? Oh the mother decided to move them there. I never get to talk to them, thanks to her but I sure get to stay broke thanks to the state. I was never this broke even when the kids lived with me. And yes they lived with me when she took off. I can not STAND the system they have.

  • @joshlc2003 The system seems to be slanted towards the moms. Too many deadbeat dads have made it impossible for those of us who truly love and want to take care of our kids. I really struggle with giving away 29% of my salary, tax free and having zero say in how it is spent. Now to be fair I have a super relationship with the EX but I still wish I had control... plus the taf-free deal really kills me! THANKS for commenting!

  • Good point. I do not get a paystub, its all online. But you are right I could have checked, but did not. Oh yes I have a case # and yes I will be sending a check to the state.

  • so didnt u look at your pay stub? if you saw they didnt take it you could have sent it.. since your payment wasnt taken u had the money.. u should have seen the extra money.. u have a case number to send it too..
