@maphantom yeah i realise that and my computer is one year old too so its just one year apart... oh wait this was late in November and i bought mine July so its actualy half a year.. Intel i7 920 2.67 GHZ FTW!
Not a comment on this video but rather a comment on the level of service Asus provide in Australia. If you want service don't bother trying. Their 1300 number is always busy, doesn't give you an option to leave a message & just hangs up on you after a message about "unusually high call volumes".
I would rather this mobo be cheaper and not have the palm thing. I would also like to see more attractive color schemes (i.e. EVGA red/black or black/black is nice)
I've had nothing but good results using Asus mobos but unfortunately you've priced your products beyond what I think is reasonable and will have to go with another brand. (times are tough, I have to budget myself) It would be nice to see mobo mfg's focus a little less on how many pci-e slots they can cram on mobo and offer an affortable single slot pci-e for those not interested in Sli-ing.
companies are now making overclocking like a serious need. dont forget it will shorten the life of your componments, why didn't they overclock them themselves in first place? my best advice is buy what you can afford and avoid overlclocking no matter what you do its never fun.
Don't listen to this comment. Overclocking is a great way to get more performace per dollar out of your computer. As long as you're smart and don't push your components too hard, they'll be fine.
lol overclocking is good...but comes w/ risks....well firstly if definatrely shortens your components life but it will give u a hell of a lot more bang for the buck...lets say u buy a i7 920 and overclock it to 3.7? that will perform better than the stock i7 940 so u just haved urself about $250
The only way it would shorten the life of your parts is if you ramped up the voltage WAY to high or didn't have good cooling ( which you should always have if your overclocking) but even then your CPU would back itself off or even shut down before any damage was done.
Look overclocking online and fallow people's advice and your parts will last forever.
ATX desktop motherboards with core 2 duo desktop cpus and powerhog videocards are a self destructing costly waste of power and money on utility for people who just want to play mp3's mpg's and get on the net ,
3 watt atom cpus for non gamer mini desktops are definitely the future The MSI WIND and Eee box will gradually revolutionize the markets! no doubt
Do you have a local school or a tutor that can teach you some proper English? I'm not an American, I'm Ukrainian.... And yes I can afford to buy any motherboard I want, being rich and being an enthusiast has nothing to do with one another...
You got one right! I had to chose between pointless Russian pride without financial stability and fucked up dictatorship, and American dream with endless opportnities and dumbshit Bush... Guess what I chose? And you know what? America feeds my family in Ukraine, not Russia!!!
I believe Asus makes the best motherboards in the world don't they? I know that I have a pretty good opinion of them of making high quality products. : )
Dude, ASUS makes great motherboards and I never had problems with them. As technology is geting more advanced and new shit hit's the market I preffer to stay up-to-date and buy new stuff... Don't get me wrong, there are many great manufaturers like GIGABYTE, ASRock, DFI, EVGA, XFX... etc. But my personal choice is ASUS for now. And ability of X58 chipset to support both SLI and CFX
No offence but getting such a advanced motherboard when your not so technical is a waste of your money since you won't know how to use it to the best of its ability
anyone can send me a good website where I can learn the overall things to know about overclocking?

The better your cooling, the longer the life of your components. It has nothing to do with overclocking, it has to do with heat.

So this is their chance to use us.
Why there's no low Cost boar for Core i7 .
not every one r overclockers .
any way i think Core i7 920 R cheaper then Core2 Extreme QX9770(cost $1,500 at less)
with the same ore over Value .
