I'm late to this I wish I knew where to get down to view it I I wish you'd never stop singing years ago the glad to check this out believe it will be great. if you know how I can do this let me know please someone take care scott missed ya
@TRUNDLETHOR Thanks so much, it's so sweet to see someone say this obvious truth. I'm in Wisconsin now, bemoaning this nasty man we elected. I've got to admit that I found Scott Walker the musician this way, and for that I'm thankful. Peace.
Watched this a few weeks ago having only ever heard the song '30 century man', probably the most interesting documentary I have ever watched. Bought 'The Drift' a few days ago and am making my way through it slowly...it really is brilliant.
If you get a chance, GO SEE THIS FILM. I saw it last night and it changed my life, Scott is a true artist's artist and the film really did justice to his music and his life, so so beautiful and inspriing.
Marc Almond isn't fit to tie Scott Walker's shoelaces. Scott Walker is so far ahead that sometimes he even leaves his audience behind. He is fearless and he makes you work for it. He's like Kubrick or Dostoyevsky. If you want it easy, go elsewhere. To call Tilt crap is like calling Crime & Punishment or 2001: A Space Odyssey crap, it frankly just shows you to be a simpleton who is out of his league.
This film needs to be shown! It was screened in San Francisco a while back, and it's incredible. Killer interviews, live footage, session films, and wonderful black and white cinematography. Brian Eno goes off on Night Flight's track "The Electrician"...Lulu declares him the most gorgeous creature...too much.
Interesting how someone called this unevolved simply because it takes a very keen look at the inner brutality of humanity. Not everyone is up for looking at themselves.
The best part is that he doesn't see himself as an emperor, and the only pretensions are on the part of others, not him. He simply observes the world and creates as best he can. It's more like the rest of the world has devolved.
"but the scene of that man beating a dead animal's carcass was disgustingly savage"
haha, what an innocuous aspect of the trailer to mention. At any rate, the Emperor With No Clothes syndrome is applicable to a good many acts nowadays, but now Scott Walker. Listen to Farmer in the City and tell me he's relying only on his myth. He's created some beautiful music in his last few albums.
Not really. Had a look at the clip and recognised "The Sun ain't gonna shine anymore", but never knew that it was by this guy. Having had a look at this thread, I should probably find out a little more (OK, it was a month ago I answered, but I've been busy).
Brilliant movie! The trailer takes my breath away already and the movie does even more so (have seen the movie 2 times as well). Scott Walker is an amazing artist and his voice is unique (imo).
I've seen the movie 2 times at the Berlin film festival. I didn't know Scott Walker before but now I think I know enough. Scott Walker is an interesting person.
Scott walker is one of few possesors of true genius in modern music. Cannot wait to see this. Brilliant singer. Brilliant interpreter of songs. Brilliant music composer and stunning lyricist.
I was at the premiere last year, it is well worth waiting for! On in Glasgow next month Glasgow Film Festival. On General release, Verve pictures 27th April
At last. When is it released. When will it escape. This artist just gets better and better. The old stuff does not date, and the later stuff, Nite Flights onwards, has no equal.

Like the Beatles, Scott Walker started out as a joke, and ended up as one of the great geniuses of music.
This is one of my favorite documentaries about one of my favorite songwriters.

I gotta see this...his music (particularly the four post-Walker Brothers solo LPs) helped me through some very difficult times. Scott rules.

"Chuck Berry, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, The Beatles?"
Hardly an enigmatic bunch... and Bowie was totally influenced by Walker along with Jeff Buckley and at least 100 others I wouldn't try to list here.
The only other artist more "Enigmatic and Influential" then Scott Walker that I can think of would be Bob Dylan... maybe Syd Barrett.

fuck yeah. this is only my opinion, but i like syd barrett more than scott. and dont get me wrong scott is still a ledge.
