Besides this I've found the approach built into the latest version of the free Impro-Visor software of jazz educator Bob Kelly (analyses changes identifying Key Centers + "Lego Brick" sequences).
Please could you say some words about the IV | bVIII7 | I - movement in the B-section. I did not understand the logic there.
@maganz Thank you. I think you mean IV | bVII7 | I . That's DbMaj7 Gb7 and AbMaj7. The Gb7 is not diatonic to the key of Ab. bVII appears in a lot of jazz tunes.
The scales or modes to use in soloing and the why to use these scales or modes would lend to a deeper understanding of the harmonic structures.
To me anyway
I would be interested what you would have to say on that subject.
