In Varnasi, Gange comes after traveling 1000 Kms from her origin. Upto Haridwar Gangi is almost 100 % pure. But Indian govt must clean the rivers even at the 2000 Km point, these politicians are corrupt, mainly at the state level.

What I don't understand is if along the Ganges it'is holy, why doesn't the gov't do something to offer the people proper facilities such as toilets, garbage cans, proper cremation sites, etc. These people are living in squalor & uncleanliness.
