@wabdinur I'm not very well informed in this, which is why I am grateful that this sort of talk is uploaded. But i think that the book on the iraq war is far from closed, and that violence could get worse
Tom Ricks who belongs to Think Tank Center For American Strategy filled w/ MILITARY is nothing more than salesman for U.S. Wars & Occupations .
The idea a "journalist " is advocating military strategy for better occupation & Wars is OBSCENE . But the main stream eat this propaganda up like sheep.
If he were a REAL journalist , the 3 things " we don't know " about IRAQ would include , the plan for privatizing IRAQ b4 war for outside Vultures to buy up . Banks can now b 100% foreign owned.
Could someone post some insight as to how things will turnout in Iraq? Was this war"a good thing"? Always questioned Bush's reasons for invasion, still do.
It doesn't look like it's going to turn out well. Gen. Patreaus was successful in turning the situation in Iraq around militarily, but there are a lot of obstacles that will make political reconciliation difficult.
The re-deployment of forces in Iraq to Afghanistan will jeopardize the gains in peace and stability we've made.
In short, we're screwed and so are the Iraqi people (Sunnis in particular).
Political reconciliation is an ongoing event and something that is up to the Iraqis... There is no telling how it will unfold, but I believe reconciliation is more possible than not.
US forces will be a much lower figure in Afghanistan than at the height of Iraq... Since we are withdrawing from Iraq anyway, re-deploying forces shouldn't be an additional strain except for the logistics involved in the re-deployment.
When the Sunni insurgents accepted a steady payment from the Americans...that's when the insurgency faded.

@nergvol
It would be better to read Thomas Ricks books (and others on the Iraq War) than look for wisdom and insight in comments page of Youtube.
