  • BOBBY KEYS ROOOLZ!

  • rockin ronnie

  • Not to excuse Ron's subpar lead playing but maybe it could have been better if he just got into the song and stopped playing to the audience. Although my one AND ONLY criticism of Taylor is that he was kind of a statue on stage. But whatever, his playing speaks for itself.

  • at least the bass player's good.

  • the should not have attempted this song.

  • no good

  • This song is one of the stones of fucking!!!

  • Spliff anyone?

  • dont care what yez all say--it's their best track ever so STFU...........long live KEITHxxxx

  • my favorite stones song forever! thx chriss999

  • WOW Ron Wood fucking butchering a song Mick Taylor made worthy. Without Mick Taylor the Stones would have burnt out faster than they did. They have sounded soooo FLAT since he left.

  • @CrazyDiamond586 Totally agree... Mick Taylor was BY FAR the most professional musician to ever play with the Stones...

I think every Mick Taylor fan probably hates Ronnie Wood... They're just too diferent from each other, and it seems clear that Mick was way better than Ronnie

Luckily for all of us, Mick and Keith's guitar interplay was recorded for posterity on Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out...

  • @LucianoGallagher Brian Jones was the best professional musician the Stones ever had. Yes, Taylor could play a mean guitar and slide...but it ends there. Jones musical contributes go from guitar, to slide, to marimba, to dulcimer, to sitar, to harmonica, to trombone, to recorder and so on!

  • @EvilAnticsLive Well, yes and no. If one talks solely of melodic guitar-playing, Taylor wins hands down. Brian gave up on guitar around 1967 after breaking his wrist which healed badly. There are very few guitar solos with Brian post-1965 (No Expectations that's it). The Stones were and are a guitar band. BUT, once Brian left/died and Taylor left (no credits for his writing-always The Glimmers) and Wood came on, it was and continues to be all down hill. The playing here is utterly AWFUL!

  • @isidrosan Brian didn't quit guitar around 1967, because he played guitar on Rock N Roll Circus in December '68. I sure wouldn't talk shit about Ronnie Wood either, knowing he plays 100x better than you. Which is quite funny, all you people bashing on him, saying he sucks, is stupid and pointless since he's better than you.

  • @EvilAnticsLive Yeah, Brian "played" guitar on RnR Circus, but it was a shaky lead on No Expectations, barely audible rhythm on a few other songs and maracas on SFTD because he reinjured his wrist during the taping. I'm strictly referring to guitar solos of the Taylor variety. I've seen every Stones tour since 1972. Wood is OK, sometimes damned good. But he's not consistent. Oh, BTW, I am a lifelong fan of the Stones and a BIG Brian Jones fan. So, ya know, don't take it personal.

  • Really nice version...Good playing, not hyped up.

  • Who's ready for The Stones' 50th anniversary tour?! Longest lasting rock band of all time? (<-not sure iof thats true but i wouldn't be surprised if it was!)

  • Keith + Bobby Keys + Mick Taylor made this song a classic. Two out three here ain't bad.

  • KEITH RICHARDS.....

  • Ron Wood trying to play Mick Taylor?? What a pathetic joke! They should've hired Taylor just to play on this song. They made their best music with him...just listen to the solo on "Time Waits For No One."

  • @scorpiodave65 "Time waits for no one" one of the best solos ever played. Terrific, a master piece.

  • @ivocoser Not really, just Taylor trying to cram in as many notes as possible. As if masturbatory soloing is what the Stones sound is based on.

  • @scorpiodave65 I disagree with your comment. Mick Taylor is far superior than Ron Wood, of course, but he tried anyway.

  • @vicenterussoneto Hi! I think you misunderstood my comment. I also think that Taylor is far superior to Wood. Taylor had better technique and is more melodic. Wood has his merits, especially on slide, but I much prefer to listen to Taylor. Wood is more of a clown, which I don't like. I love to hear Taylor play. Try to get a hold of a CD he made with Carla Olson live. Very nice playing.

  • @scorpiodave65 I just said that he's not trying to play Mick Taylor, he played the music the way he plays, which is not that good as Taylor's. So it's not a pathetic joke, what do you expected?

  • @vicenterussoneto OK then, now I understand. Anyway, we both agree that Taylor and Wood have very different styles. Peter Frampton was rumored (among others) to replace Taylor when he left. I think he would've played somewhat similarly to Taylor. You know, I had always thought the great lead guitar solo on "Hand of Fate" was Wood, but it wasn't his style. Turned out to be Wayne Perkins.

  • @scorpiodave65 Yes indeed! Have you read Keith's bio? Having another point of view of his history makes the whole thing amazing

  • @scorpiodave65 wow by saying that you're saying that Ronnie sucks, and by saying that you show us how dumb you are and don't understand a damn thing about music

  • @rafaultimate69 It's a shame that "people" like you resort to insulting people you don't even know. So therefore, you had to insult everyone on this page who put negative comments about Ron Wood. The beauty of a page like this is that everyone can opine, but a "person" like yourself has to ruin it. You don't know anything about me, yet you insult me. You like Ronnie? Fine. I don't but I'm not going to stoop way down to your level. What a pity that you have to ruin the page.

  • @scorpiodave65 Well you don't have a lot to talk about, cause you insulted Ronnie,so don't come saying things like that just cause i called you dumb, cause the first one here insulting someone was you

  • @rafaultimate69 I would have LOTS to talk about if I were talking to an intelligent and mature person. Unfortunately, I'm not, so I'm not going to waste any more of my time communicating with an example of a person of inferior intelligence and maturity. Good-bye and good riddance. I at no time insulted you; maybe it's simply a question of your being hurt by the truth.

  • @scorpiodave65 yup you didn't insulted me,but you insulted Ronnie wood by saying something that makes absolute no sense, just cause Mick Taylor is better doesn't mean Ron is bad.

  • @rafaultimate69 And Ron and Keith play very well together, better than Keith used to play with Mick,Keith and Ron are such a great duo

  • @scorpiodave65 damn str8.....i love the ronnie/ keith sound.....they invented this shit....ok elmore james- true, but they really came up with this brand of riffing.....rafaulimate is to be excused, cuz' when your heads that far up the arse its very hard to tell who or what the F. is goin on!

  • ahh that deep rumble reminds me how good the live FEELS in your bones..when it rumbles into your very thoughts..ahhh time to come back and tour STONES!

  • man, keith has a lot of guitar skill

  • @SullenMorbius Oh yes he has, but he is a little bit lost at the begining, it seems like he has cocaine ears :-)

Anyway Keith is one and only!

  • The rolling Stones partied and rocked just as hard as Joplin, Morrison, and Hendrix and have as much of a legacy (if not more) as them, and yet they are still here, alive (barely) and still rockin.... I'm not exactly sure how that makes me feel.

  • @2112Zeppelin Makes me feel like a million bucks! :)

  • nice

  • great great tune. Just too bad Mick Taylor didnt stay. Wood is a very ordinary guitarist. At Best.

  • Timeless

  • this is TOO FUCKING GOOD

  • I like when Jager sings well. Sometimes he likes to get a little lose with the vocals. I like when he tries to be more technical. It's all good rock and roll!

  • Fucking right. The greatest band ever. Stop. Say no more.

  • The greatest band ever. stop.

  • Something So Great that a Question!..as My Attorney; The Rolling Stones! "All Ways!"..who owns the devil!...(the rolling stones..way cool..seasoned! rock n roll!)

  • Bobby is masterful on sax, but Kieth nor Ronnie can duplicate Mick Jones artistry.

  • @MrShoeman21 You mean Mick Taylor

  • @scorpiodave65 yes i did

  • you all got Cocaine Eyes

  • YA Likeeee it Concert !!! observing the work for New York, RS it was delicious!

  • Gods walk the earth...

  • Pure Awesomeness. I melted.

  • me dan ganas de meterme un tiro!!

  • Music's Best Concerts!!!

  • Do you still believe that Ian "Stu" Stewart (1938-85) is still a better piano player -- despite the fact he was only the 6th Stones member when they were touring (Andrew Oldham dismissed him from the recording version of the band as an official member in 1963) -- than Chuck Leavell (who had toured with the Stones since 1982)?

  • is it just me or does it sound like they're fucking up in the beginning?

  • @TwoBucksShy It's not a bad version. I think what you're referring to is Keith completely missing the riff going into the 2nd verse at 1:36. I'd bet that's what he's laughing about 10 seconds later.

  • This performance is what's more commonly know as "phoning it in."

  • rons solo is pathetic. dont know how they expected him to fit in mick taylors place in terms of sheer talent, or any other musical aspect for that matter.

  • @aripahs Characterwise he gets on well with Keef but that's about all. Ronnie was the man in the Faces but after that well.....

  • Does Keith have 6 strings here?

  • @hajanek i guess yes, cause he needs the 6 strings to play this song

  • one of 25 gigs good, 24 are saving energy Good ones: Phoenix 1997 nov. 18 may 1990 rotterdam, midday concert in gainsville dec 1990, gotenburg aug 1990, torino 1990, berlin 1990, second show,

leipzig 2003, Houston 1998, feb, first show.

    thanks, strailing spailing windriaan

  • Ronnie is overlooked & under-rated for sure. I give him lots of props, but he just doesn't flow like Mick Taylor- that cat could just slay 'em out!

  • i love how ronnie calls out the "pick it up here" with some hand signals around the 9 min mark.

  • Hey! Where is the super hiper cronic?Life for ever Stones!

  • One of my favourites. Habe diese Tour miterlebt. Smashing!

  • i liked the live version they did in San Antonio better than this one. This sounds to off for some reason.

  • They need to make some new music and tour, before it really is too late. Their 50th anniversary is coming next year.

  • This is a great version, but I still miss Taylor's guitar solo. They flowed smooth like water.

  • Mick on the harmonica is rare for this number, because there was no harmonica on the original 1971 version of this song.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X - It's a shame Mick didn't play the harp on more RS songs because he was pretty good at it. But they moved away mostly from the blues so there was likely no need.

  • They are all SO skinny! LOL. Drugs and screwing.

  • @NYtoTX Don't forget the booze.

  • My Gawd thats some good guitar work !!!

  • Well, Can't you hear him???

  • Has this concert been put on DVD the entire not the tibs and bits from the box set they have
