Here's the deal. Do I feel bad for the guy? Yes I do, but guess what I also know how hardcore the prisons in Thailand are and I also know that they like to give out life for smugglers. So if one day someone offered me even a million dollars to smuggle heroin to Thailand guess what I would tell them? I would tell them no fucking way. He knew the possible price he could pay, he got caught, and now he's fucked. Moral of the story is don't smuggle drugs in Thailand.

I know the Thai Law, so to plea guilty was not the dumbest Thing he could do.

There is a good chance that after 8 Years or roundabout this he will be sent to an Australian Prison to serve the time there, and then normaly they get out much quicker.

A royal Pardon? Not for Drugs. Thailand has a harsh politic about Drug Offences, and everyone who enters the country is informed about that, so it´s own fault. Its the risk he took, so he has to be a Man and serve his sentence.

What angers me is the hypocrisy of it all. Life imprisonment for one foolish person for carrying drugs while the CIA is making money growing opium in Afghanistan! And who holds the CIA responsible for this? The world is definately insane. You have countries and authorities meting out unfair and harsh judgements to insignificant individuals while officials like the CIA glory in their money making drug smuggling sanctioned by their government!

but they usually get a pardon after a few years so it's worth staying alive.

Yes ur right he will get a royal pardon and its round the 8 years mark, then the Thais will have some sort of deal where Hoods will have to do the rest of the sentence back in Oz once deported, in some countrys you could only do a couple of years but in the UK you could do the full sentence thats left....Hoods then might write a book on his life in Bangkwang prison ("The Bangkok Hilton" or as the Thais say "Big Tiger") where you need to be sentence of a min of 35 years..

Legalization is the only answer to the drug problem and being harm reduction and drug businesses would pay income taxes and be the same age as drinking.
