its true that many systems wont power it as the standard for usb2 is delivering 500mA ~ 4.5watts, while it needs 900 to function. It MIGHT work on several systems though, as some manufactures allow their usbs to deliver more than theyre "supposed to".

I've heard that if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port, it won't power up most of the time because it needs more amps than most USB 2 ports can provide, and you have to get a dual USB cable shipped from Lacie. Is that true?

@tipoomaster Well, I don't know the right answer, but now I'm connecting it to a USB 2.0 port and it goes faster than a 2.0 Lacie. Guillermo

Did you mean 3.0? Or you're connecting it to a 2.0 port with a single cable?

@tipoomaster I mean that I'm actually using this LaCie on the video, I use a 2.0 Port and it runs faster than using a different model 2.0 ;)
