He was so out of place in Fight, it was hilarious. He's just not that kind of guitarist. If you knew his personality (from this video too!) you'd know it was just a gig.
@jkgw7172 However out of place he may have been, I really do prefer his work in Fight over the Steel Panther stuff. I got to see Fight open for Anthrax at (of all places) a Country and Western bar (complete with mechanical bull) in Charleston, SC back in the day.
Agreed, Russ Parrish is one hell of a player, always thought he was far better than PG back in the electric fence days. Better tone, phrasing, he should be a lot more famous than he is.
@Sunedosa Agreed. It's unbelievable how much attitude and feel he packs into his playing (of course, PG's pretty good at that, too). Russ's style reminds me a lot of EVH. He's a real virtuoso.
The ascending diminished phrase from 1:56 to 2:00 builds enough tension to catapult a 747 from LAX to Guam. Great Guitar work - Mr. Parrish still has the magic. Thanks for sharing!
His Tiger Stripe Kramer Pacer sounds better ..

His playing in Fight was phenomenal. I wish I could find a tab book for it...

This band is a spoof. It's not supposed to be original sixslinger. I hope you got that. Besides you can't take away the fact that he's damn good.

he seems to emulate that 80s style of guitar playing really well

Sick video. I like his improv of EVH's Eruption.

I don't understand why this video DOESN'T have a million views. Russ Parrish is an amazing guitar player.
