Nice information but one suggestion... Soaps, bleaches, abuse of antibiotics is causing this problem... You can't prevent the problem with the same failed ideology
Dying from any skin staph infection, including MRSA is rare. It usually affects the skin and does not enter the blood stream or affect other organs very often. 1/3 of the population have the bacteria on their skin, especially in the nostrils, so its just whether you get a wound in an area where you have the staph bacteria, the staph finds a way in. The best treatment I've found is a strong antibiotic and washing the wound with chlorhexidine many times a day to disinfect and dry it out

also look into collidial silver. And fight the ignorant doctors who feed from the palm of the industry! This stuff almost took my leg and genitals. Dont eat peas or wheat glutein if you have MRSA. it feeds it. It is so bad if you have it understaand how ignorant your Dr. is about it and look elsewhere for a cure. They just want to keep selling us antibiotics that will never rid you body of it and it will keep recurring. Oregano, Allicin, lots of vitamin C, and wash with manuka soap, tea tree shampoo, and rinse with listerine. Actually, its perfectly fine to eat peas with MRSA. I have it myself, have had it for at least five years, and have eaten my share of peas. It doesnt promote outbreaks at all.
What Ive done to treat it though, is get my doctor to perscribe Bactroban cream. When you get the beginning of MRSA (a tiny bump or "spider bite") smear some of the Bactroban cream on it, and it heals before progressing into a bad outbreak.
i had it a year ago. got a prescription and it went away. hasn't been back. as a carpenter, i am constantly getting cuts with no opportunity for hygiene til i get home from work. so i have to wonder, why and how is it that you have been battling mrsa for 5 years? my battle lasted 2 weeks. are you paranoid or do you have a horrible doctor? just curious. wash with phisophex and apply bactroban in your nose for 7 days, and it should "decolonize" you.

...Get in your car and drive to your local GNC Healthfood store and pick up a couple bottle of their "SILVER BIOTICS"
Then go home and start drinking a cap full every hour (and put some on your infected skin).

ok. We were told antibactirial soap works well. We even bleached the home daily until his MRSA was gone. Washed bedding daily and anything he touched.
IF A DOCTOR SAYS THAT IS HOGWASH...THEN I AGREE WITH YOU.....HOGWASH TO THEM
