A friend of mine slipped into a coma 3 mos. ago,,, well, not a coma...he was paralized from a stroke and couldnt communicate in any way. He could hear the drs. discussing how they didnt think he was gonna make it. After about a month, he was able to blink his eyes and they realized he was coherent. He's having to learn to walk and talk all over again... It's strange, his mind and memory are crystal clear...
This movie is about the horrors of war ,euthanasia,the right things to do in life and to never forget all those poor boys that lived and died a horrible death in wet rat ridden trenches for no reason other than demoracy!

Like in the very last chapter of the book, where he speaks of war. His words hit directly to my mind, and know I'm more knowledgeable of war and it's path of pain and destruction.

Greed, low resources, or judgment will always drive countries against eachother. Eliminating crime is impossible without ruining lives of the innocent as well. The world sucks in some ways.
To be honest there's not really a right or wrong answer, I personally think if the person can communicate if they want to be killed then yes they should be, I know he may not have a quality of life but it's too hard to say what's right and wrong for this. I do think if you was in the state Johnny is i'd think it'd be worse than death.

If given the choice between life or death, in his case, it would be better to die. Because life would be hell, and at least death would be a better chance of living, in my opinion anyways. (Yeah, this movie hella scared me.)
This movie does scare me, but I come to believe it. I wouldn't want to live like that, but it really would make me feel good to at least be alive, and give me a better sence of why God kept me alive.
I believe in the book he asks to either be allowed to die or to be let out into public to show what the war has done to him. The answer is something like "That would not be proper" and he's just left. Not allowed to die.
I heard about this movie sime days ago because we are currently studying about the World Wars in history class.
I'll be very curious to see this movie, because I'm always complaining abt my life and my little problems, like many people do. And I think Johnny's fate could be a good lessons for all of us.
But..makes sense-hope it gets people to start thinking and maybe they'll realize that war is something they should avoid if possible...or they might get f*** up like Joe :(

there a girl who lived not too far away from me.. she was 19, she was in a coma and no one knew if she was gonna get out of it. But then her boyfriend told them to pull the plug cuz he had the right.. so things may not happen exactly like this a lot, but other things do

Scary movie. Starts off as a nightmare, and ends a nightmare. A true war crime was that they did not let him die.
I read the book in 10th grade AP english, and it has stuck with me to this day. Powerful.

If given the choice between life or death, in his case, it would be better to die. Because life would be hell, and at least death would be a better chance of living, in my opinion anyways. (Yeah, this movie hella scared me.)

This movie does scare me, but I come to believe it. I wouldn't want to live like that, but it really would make me feel good to at least be alive, and give me a better sence of why God kept me alive.

I believe in the book he asks to either be allowed to die or to be let out into public to show what the war has done to him. The answer is something like "That would not be proper" and he's just left. Not allowed to die.

I heard about this movie sime days ago because we are currently studying about the World Wars in history class.
I'll be very curious to see this movie, because I'm always complaining abt my life and my little problems, like many people do. And I think Johnny's fate could be a good lessons for all of us.
