@guywithlove you will have to buy it haha and if you get the tribes of the east expansion you have a choice between two upgrades when you get any of the better buildings.
Three was considerably better but it was made by a different company. the stories in this however have come along in leaps and bounds. six is coming soon though and I will be honest guys it looks amazing.
(ps. rethink your tactics. you can save on losses if you hold back making sure you get the 1st hit. peace out XD

HOMM3 is still the best They should just revamp the graphics of the third one and add a couple expansions, itd be righteous. HOMM3 was Perfect the new graphics are just too much for the series. 3 was perfect balance.

I remember playing HOMAM 3 back in the days. Such a great game. Played it for so many hours. Made in 1998, but still one of the best strategy games ever made.
I enjoy playing Heroes III even today- although I haven't done all the campaigns yet, simply love the variety and the different gameplays wrapped together. While I admit I love it, I am actually going to attempt this game- entering with an open mind, I am sure I may dislike some of the aspects, but overall it looks very well done and I hope to enjoy it as much as I do 3, it'll be different... but I'll probably like it. :)
the only downside of the game is that turns take long and there aren't many singleplayer maps and that there aren't so many castles like in heroes 3 and it has no faerie,crystal,rust,azure dragons,which sucks cause the azure dragons are awesome
I think the "boredom" comes from the fact that this game is turn-based instead of RTS like most games around at present. Personally a hate turn-based games and thus i stay away from them like the plague BUT HEROES 5 is probably the only exception. I really like this game, been playing it for years and it's still cool... the new sides you get to play with the expansions give it even more playability. It's certainly not perfect, eg. the AI is very cowardly. But overall it's a pretty look look game
It's funny how heroes 5 is so much worse than heroes 3 and 4. It's like they took the same basic idea and instead of improving on it they just put tons of more decorations and ornaments and tried to make it look more realistic. Instead it's the same old shit but in brighter colors.
The game looks so much over the top that it really makes me sick. I sincerely hope there is no Heroes sequels! Enough
I've started to play 5 yesterday. xD and I think it's really cool. The grafphics and all of that. the attacks the way you build buildings in the city's is more awesome. So I think Heroes 5 is the best for now.

@Jugaxp You should try the GOOD games in the HoMM franchise if you havn't. With that I mean HoMM 1, 2 and 3. Maybe the fourth too, but atleast try the second and third one if you havn't, pure ownage.

can someone tell me why the 3rd is so good? ive started to play 3rd yesterday :O i cant see any fun in it, pls reply, i havent play 5 yet.

I played 3 and found it very addicitive(you have to give it a little time)then i played 5 and just didnt have as much fun,5 is basically the same as 3 but slower paced and more 3d graphics,if you dont like 3 you likely wont like 5 either.

I bought this game some time ago and I was so small that I couldn't understand how to play this. I was pathetic. Now I am pro at this gmae and I think it rocks.

I think from 1 to 3 they did "improvements" from 4 onwards they did "changes" to the gameplay, so I can understand, and I agree with most ppl, I think 3 is the best, but 5 isn't so bad at all, only the 3D looks WAY weird, they could have made a smoother transition, at least made a pre-rendered city image rather then whole 3D environment (and moving view) and also had a bigger and more controled field of view in the adventure map... anyway, there are dozens of game design elements that could have

@Jugaxp You should try the GOOD games in the HoMM franchise if you havn't. With that I mean HoMM 1, 2 and 3. Maybe the fourth too, but atleast try the second and third one if you havn't, pure ownage.
