Bugatti needs 16 cylinders, 4 turbos and 8L of engine capacity. Porsche needs 10 cylinders less, 2 turbos less and 4.4L of engine capacity less to almost reach the same acceleration/speed. So.. what is real engineering?

It is an R750, meaning the Porsche has been tuned to run on a very rare and expensive type 'Racing Petroleum' where as the Veyron can run on all unleaded petrol available anywhere in the world... This Porsche is close to breaking point and needs an engine rebuild every few years, the veyron will seamlessly work for 15+ years, no rebuild.

There's a limit to how much power you can put down on the road which is why both cars are about equal in a 1/4 drag. The Veyron is so special because it will keep going to 253 mph. The Porsche's doors would fall off long before that.
