Back in the day, Golden Axe wasn't about the beasts; it was about fighting alongside your friends and family to see who could kick the most ass and steal the most magic potions from the elves.

This game is so "improved" from the previous ones that it loses that nostalgic feeling. Why only one character to choose from instead of 3 (or more)? Why use beasts as a GIMMICK? Who's that woman supposed to be? I don't recognize her.

If they removed "Golden Axe" from the title, would it even matter?

It's probably more challenging when you get to ride some of the other beasts, It's not like that is the only one, and other npc's will also get to ride beasts, which adds the challenge.

When something as little as, changing the starting point of the shock wave to the front feet of the beast, instead of beneath it's head (which doesn't hit the ground) would make it look so much better... The game is doomed to fail.

SEGA tends to try and revive there older franchises they don't touch on for several years and they never are as good as there older titles. Samba De Amigo, Nights, Phantasy Star and now GoldenAxe. At least they're fixing up Sonic as of late (Sonic Unleashed looks incredible), too bad they don't do that to there other franchises.
