Took a few tries. Once I realized I was NOT beating him with standard attacks, I tried again and after maybe 4 times got it. The trick is to always have yourself near the edge! And if you don't switch out you get 50K gold too!

Play As Kilik...!! (or kilik style created man) cos when you have your back to the arena edge press forward and L2 (correspond it for 360) and he shud flip them out of the arena

No, the glitch still works on PS3 as of 21/09/09 Just did it with Yoda. (Note: Yes I used Yoda, have to buy him for like $2.99 or $5.99 from the Playstation Store under Add-ons)

Yes it is. The AI doesn't have the ability to properly estimate it's distance from the ledge. All AI that jump constantly are effected that same way, like Taki. This occurrence is called an Exploit. Exploits are Glitches. A Glitch in a game is anything that happens that breaks the game in any way.

oh thats easy just use segfrieds diagnal slash and follow up with the downward slask u kno the uppercut attack he has and it will make the enemy soul gauge sink fast and u can do ur critical finish on them and get it over with in like 3 mins or less

sqaure + x does the same thing as L2 it makes it easier, you can also change L2 to be a different combination of buttons.

I used this glitch to beat this guy. My brother on the other hand, actually beat him decisively by spamming a bunch of grapples. It might be luck of the draw with that, as he didn't win by much.

for floors 57-59, I also used 2 Astaroths with jacked up HP...200hp. I just did down-left-diagonal A,A and destroyed everyone. The only problem occurs if you mess up the timing a bit and the AI gets aggressive. As long as you keep your distance and time that move right, you're ok. bottomline; don't let the AI have time to attack you. Don't approach them like you would a real fight; be cheaper than them.

To defeat the Xbox Live update that fixes this glitch, all you need is a memory unit. Simply format the MU, copy your Soul Calibur 4 save and Gamertag to the MU, remove the HDD, and when you start the game it will ask you to update. Decline, and you can play the game offline without the patch that fixes this glitch.

I beat Algol the first time with a critical finish, but DAMN this trick really does work I tried it! Thanks a million its going to be so much easier to get the "Transcend History of The World" achievement.
