Been a long time, but I spent an entire afternoon with Faron in a bar in Nashville in 1973. Most memorable time for me, since he was my favorite singer then, as still is today.
Faron is the best. I heard him on the radio when I was a kid. The station, KGA was in Spokane and those sounds made their way to our radio at the farm house wayyy out in the boonies. That was 30 years ago at least.
I agree that this is real country musice, from the 80's back and though I respect the talent since then, they should call it something besides country.

Faron was a gentleman and a great performer. I had the privilege of performing on at least one stage that he did. The Ryman. What a honor. Nuff said.,

What a voice!! And he wasn't too hard to look at either. I had such a huge crush on him back in the day. I guess I still do 50+ years later.
