The Old Man of Hoy is not the UK's highest sea stack - that honour goes to Stac Armin out in the St Kilda group at 196m high. The E1 5b climb on the Old Man of Hoy is great fun - must recommend it.
Rising out of the Atlantic Ocean to a height of 450 feet (137m), The Old Man of Hoy is the UK's tallest sea stack. Originally an arch with two "legs", hence its name. There is already a large crack running down from the top of the stack. The classic route goes at E1 5b and it's yours for the taking...
Damn Good..I always wanted to climb this. Old enough to remember the black and white BBC show that filmed climbers on it. For the first time climbers had cameras and microphones on their helmets. Captivating stuff and as a child it left a deep impression on me. Thanks for this.
Fair play ...you guys are good ....nice movers ..no grunting and spitting!

What is the song that starts at 3:30?
Mrlint101 2 years ago
The film starts with '18', then 'Look Back In' mixes in at about 45secs, and 'Rafters' starts somewhere close to 3:20.
They're all off the Moby album '18'.
Any comments/rating on the film would be appreciated...
