  • I can drive the real thing! Like A BOSS!

  • After watching this video I decided to put this kit high on my list, very nice work. This appears to be the Trumpeter kit, is that right? I've noticed Trumpeter don't make the kits with interiors. I get the feeling they are thinking of selling the same kits several times by adding additions. I really like back loader to have interiors, like the Bradly, it makes it look so much cooler. BTW, do you know what these "Smart Kits" are? Thanks

    Thomas

  • @tdfisk yes its trumpeter mate, the Bradley kit by Tamiya is only one Ive seen that has an interior. Trumpeter do do building the engine on some kits. I do have the Trumpeter LAV-AT kit 1/35 scale for sale if you want it. It has a Traversable and working AT turret. Never heard of smart kits mate :)

  • @TankNutDave It seems strange to me that these Chinese kits have so many parts (often to excess I think), but they don't detail the interior, especially with personnel carriers. Oh well. The smart kits are Dragon and all I've heard is they are easier to assemble. I'll just have to get one and find out. Thanks.

  • thats pretty fucking accurate

  • Nice build Dave . Thanks

  • Nice job! I work with Strykers, so I have a unique perspective. I built this model with only a few of the metal parts. Engine air intake, fan vent, hydrop covers, RWS camera hoods and exhaust deflector. The plastic parts are more acurate for the cable cutters, spare fuel and water brackets( they are actually fiberglass in real life) to name a few. Also, all the wheel steps but the driver's wheel are removed on fielded units. I am not knocking your model, but giving some accuracy tips. Great vid!

  • Fuckin loser.lmao

  • @2011Foxtrot ???

  • @TankNutDave

Don't worry about that asshole, Dave. Very nice model. Not to detract from your work at all, but next Stryker you build, go with a much darker green. I was in an infantry unit that had Bradleys but we worked with the Stryker guys from the 25th in Baghdad. Those vehicles are covered with tarps, rucksacks, camo netting, water coolers, you name it. Nice model, though!

  • @mkr8683 asshole?

  • @TankNutDave who is an asshole?

  • @TankNutDave The 2011Foxtrot guy.

  • @TankNutDave in his (mkr8683) opinion is 2011Foxtrot an asshole cause he called u a "fuckin loser" :D

  • how do you paint armor models with rubber tires? i usually airbrush... then paint the the bottom wheels... then mask the whole bottom section and just airbrush the whole top

    how do you do yours?

  • @shevah2 i airbrush the model with the pattern and then hand paint with a brush the black on the tyres at the end as detail like i do with the lights.

  • were do u get these.

  • How did you go with the painting. I usually find it to hard to paint after assembly so I paint each part individually whilst assembling. Although i dont have an airbrush. What would you recommend assemble then paint or paint whilst assembling?

  • @ethanforster airbushed the whole thing after building. I never paint whist building, paint can react with wet cement :-) not worth the risk

  • I am building the MGS version.

  • @RaptureandZune NIce :-P has it got bar armour around it?

  • @TankNutDave I have bought the Eduard slated armor kit for it =] Need some modification to fit on the MGS, though.

  • @RaptureandZune nice, would love to see a picture when you finished it :-)

  • @RaptureandZune Hey, is that the AFV one? If so watch out for the turret parts fit. Not great. A real accurate model, but not easy to assemble properly.

  • @tmont007 Yes. The turrent fitting is ok for me (I have seen worse =] ). Nothing a knife and sandpapers can't fix. Be sure to buy the AFV windows anti-glare stickers too, it makes the kit much more realistic.

  • @RaptureandZune why in the world do peeps keep calling a "turret" a turrent?. The word "turrent" is the most stupid word ever. IT IS TURRET GOT IT>

  • Nice build, but too clean, and some things should hace other colours i think (gasoil )

  • Nice Job!

  • What do you use to stick the Photo etched parts?

  • Loads of ordenary modelling glue and effort lol :-)

  • I use normal modelling glue aswell but after week or so the parts fall off... like they did on my trumpeter Faun SLT-56.....

  • Airbrush them, that keeps them on, nice thick coat of paint

  • I'll try.

  • ok thanks

  • ok thanks and does it come with the cement to put it together

  • nope, never bought a model where the cement comes with it

  • how long did it take you to make that and what kinds of building supplies does it need thanks

  • Did it over 2 or 3 evenings. everything came in the kit, except the paint. Just used my normal tools. you can actually buy this model on my site in the shop :-)

  • Nice paint scheme. Should do a diorama :)

  • Is that a Trumpeter? I bought the 1/72 scale version, bad move. Too tiny and too much assembly of poor fitting parts for the detail. You did a great job on your 35 scale. But as with the 72 scale, the RWS is poor. I work on those every day, so I can tell you. It's not great. I know, picky me, spoiled by Tamiya and I don't like Trumpeter, parts don't fit right etc. I enjoyed your vid though, as usual. Thanks! Hopefully AFV club will put out Strykers. They are better, but not by much.

  • @tmont007 i did a 1/72 trumpeter. very fun. but now i am building a 1/72 ACE. very very bad kit. need heaps of filler and all the important parts (wheel axles etc) don't fit. but still fun...

  • damn good job.. to bad with the real ones they never stay that green now matter how huch you clean them

  • lol ive just built the LAV AT, got the LAV C3 and LAV R to build

  • i have spent a lot of time in one of thouse. hope to build one soon

  • Cool, if you want, you can check out my site where I've written about the Stryker and you may find it of interest. You can also check out the details of the model too :-)

  • how long does it take u to make a model?

  • Anything from 3 hours to a week, totally depends on the manufacturer of the model :-)

  • good dude you make this look so easy LOL

  • Years of practise lol I still make mistakes
