This game is the same old Mythology repeated again. The Goddess (Venus) as Medusa a Serpent (comet) that threatens the world from the heavens & needs to be saved by the Warrior hero (Mars).

There are 5 endings and they depend on how many stats you have maxed out. The stats are

Zeus's special weapons acquired.

Hearts collected.

Strength arrows acquired.

Number of full health meter bars.

If none are maxed out, the worst ending occurs, if all are maxed out the best ending occurs and for each one maxed out (doesn't matter which one) a better ending occurs.

@ClipCoug I am sorry buddy, I haven't really played Kid Icarus. Alas, I was barely getting a hold of the Supernintendo when I was in 1st Grade. Link to the Past Zelda was my first game. I really didn't discover this game til SSBB I think ever since then Pit has become my favorite character. But I am sorry if I seem ignorant when I ask the question about Zeus' weapons. Are fire arrows best upgrade? And what are protective Crystals?

@Zauriel7777 It's cool. The protective crystals are just 2 crystals that revolve around Kid Icarus in a circular motion that protects him from enemy attacks.

I don't consider one upgrade to be the best...the Sacred Bow makes arrows goes faster and further and the fire arrows hit enemies easier.

@ClipCoug Cool. I don't know, but I always thought it would have been cool if SSBB would have had more original characters like Pit from other NES games--and an upgrade mode which allows all characters to become more powerful, thereby making novice players much harder to beat with a regular Link or Pit. Have you played SSBB?

@Zauriel7777 I've played SSBB and there are plenty of original characters. Just have to unlock them all.

As far as this "upgrade mode"....there should be a handicap mode like in Melee and grabbing the Final Smash would help upgrade your character temporaily

not that unusual for that era. there are no complex fucking 3d graphics that need to be textured and no animated intro or cinematic sequences to be made. google for a jump n run called "captain comic" - it was done by 1 man alone, who didnt even do it as a full-time job, i guess.

since that time, videogames have lost much of their simplicity and neat style imho, i miss that era.

This one's the 'worst' ending. He undergoes different changes depending on how good your ending score is.
