Both Anne and Katherine were victims! Anne was pushed and abused by her power hungry family and she was terrified of Henry that's why she had so many miscarriages the only villain is HENRY HE'S A JERK!
Look I'm an Anne Boleyn fan. I'm not gonna change that. I'm not going to pretend that Anne didn't influence the king to break with Rome because she did. However HENRY broke with Rome, not Anne. HENRY banished his wife and daughter. HENRY had an oath administered and HENRY had all those people executed. Anne didn't have anymore power than anyother consort. If she did she probably would've have went ahead and had Katherine executed. And no at this point Anne was not truly his mistress. Truly.
@KrunkPrincess15 I don´t get why you are a fan of her, then. For the way you describe her, she does not sound as a nice persona at all. She was really mean and hungry for power; all she really wanted was to be queen
@Nadesiko85 I disagree. I think she truly loved Henry and wanted to be his wife but yes I do think she realllly wanted to be queen, who wouldn't? But I love her because unlike the rest of his wives she wasn't just going to let Henry walk over her, I like her because she was a faithful Christian, I like her because she represents the art of being a woman.
@KrunkPrincess15 Katherine of Aragon didn't allow Henry to walk all over her and she was the only wife that Henry feared retaliation from. All the homewrecker Anne did was enable Henry's ability to dispose of his wives. She is the AntiFeminist willing to dispose of other women for her own selfish gains. She lobbied Henry against the idea of a Female heir (until she had one) and helped get rid of the restraints of religion that once controlled him. (to an Extent)
@Stormiya Anne never cared about having a female ruler she said that to become queen. She was telling Henry what he wanted to hear and it worked. It was never about the fact that Mary wasn't a boy for Anne, it was because Mary wasn't her child or protestant. It was about her religion and love. All his mistresses had used their influence to get things Anne just wanted more. And Henry didn't fear Katherine's retaliation, he feared her nephew's retaliation. Katherine on her own was not a threat.
@KrunkPrincess15 She still lobbied against the idea of a Female Heir and that is a fact. Henry did fear Katherine. thats why he kept her seperated from Mary. They even talk about it on the show! Hello! I believe the exact line on the show was that Katherine "Could wage a Civil War against Me just as fierece as any her mother Isabella waged in Spain" It was also no secret that the majority of the English were on her side. Her Nephew did make her a bigger threat but she was a force on her own.
@Stormiya Henry's people weren't going to go against him for Katherine. That just wasn't going to happen. For Mary maybe, but not for a foreigner which is what Katherine was. Katherine was a powerful figure head on her own, not much else without her nephew. And if Anne was so against a female heir she wouldn't have had a problem stepping aside for Jane or any other female she thought could give him a son. Male, female whatever as long it was Anne's child that's all that mattered to her.
@KrunkPrincess15 Actually it was looking like they would. You really need to read up on this because you obviously don't know what you're talking about (and its like you didn't even watch the show either which also portrayed the people to be on Katherine's side.) The people weren't happy with his divorce or break from Rome. They loved Queen Katherine who had served as Queen regent and commanded troops while Henry was in France and interceded on the behalf of the rebels from the Evil May Days
@KrunkPrincess15 Katherine was not just some "Foreigner." She had been Queen for 24 years at this point. So yes she could've taken Henry on in a Civil War and very well could've won. If Anne Stuck to a consistant argument yeah she should've stepped outside since she spoke so passionately against the Princess Mary. You can make excuses for her still doesn't make it right
@Stormiya I've never once said she was right or that I was making excuses. It is what it is. Anne wasn't trying to be some consistent Queen, just a queen period. Of course she spoke against Mary she threatened everything Anne was working for. But no Katherine may have been Queen for a long time and a kind one at that but the ppl weren't going to go against Henry because at the end of the day Katherine was not royal to England by birth so she was in fact a foreigner...by birth.
@KrunkPrincess15 Sounds like excuses to me. I promise you go back in history and look. Henry was worried about facing her off in a Civil War. The English people did side with her. Katherine was the daughter of Isabella and Fredinand she was regarded as Royalty EVERYWHERE
@Stormiya I don't need to make excuses for her. Her reputation speaks for itself. Some hate her, some, like me, love her. I think she's amazing. English people agreed with Katherine but they clearly weren't besotted enough to take up arms in her favor. And I'm not doubting Katherine's royalty. Whether or not you accept the annulment she was a royal at LEAST two times over...and yet still a foreigner in England.
@KrunkPrincess15 Her Reputation does speak for itself. She is a Greedy Homewrecking tramp. They clearly were. Do your research. Don't argue with me on stuff you have obviously been too lazy to research. Henry did fear a Civil war from her and the English people were on her side. Thats a fact. Do some research or shut the hell up okay? :)
@Stormiya This is clearly personal for you for whatever reason. Fear is an emotion and anything emotional would be an opinion not a fact so it has nothing to do with me being lazy. I know my Tudor history and whether you or the pope decree otherwise I could really care less I love Anne and always will. She was a passionate, smart, clever witty woman. Henry didn't fear Katherine. Okay? :)
@KrunkPrincess15 Nope not Personal. I find it odd anyone would love Anne but thats a different story. The entire root on this arguement was your claim that Henry didn't fear Katherine and walked all over her. Both of which are incorrect statements. None of the other wives could go toe to toe with Henry like she did and He did fear her. Its in letters recorded in History, you obviously don't know Tudor History if you can say such an incorrect statement, okay? :)
@Stormiya I'm not arguing about Katherine. I couldn't care less about her if I tried. I'm only concerned about Anne. She went toe to toe with him on everything-that would be the reason he began to hate her. I doubt Henry was concerned about his own people turning against him for Katherine. More likely her nephew's efforts. Plenty of wrong things have been recorded in history, okay? :)
@KrunkPrincess15 LOL at saying you don't care about Katherine and then proceeding to argue about her ability to turn the people. You're not the sharpest crayon in the box are ya? Explains your love of Anne though. Henry has recorded his thoughts himself! Anne tried to go toe to toe with Henry the only difference was Henry didn't have to worry about a fallout with his people or the Empror for her execution. Katherine's would've enraged the English, Spanish and many others across Europe
@Stormiya Woow trying to insult me by saying I'm not a sharp crayon? Who colors with sharp crayon's?? Anyhoo I don't care about Katherine but I can discuss her if I so choose, like I'm choosing. My high intelligence is another reason I love Anne, thank you for noticing. Divorcing Katherine did enrage the English, Spanish, and many others across Europe and yet.....nothing.
@KrunkPrincess15 People who like to color in the lines? LOL Katherine told her nephew not to intervene and Henry kept her seperated from Mary so he could basically hold her hostage. For someone who claims to be intelligent and in the know of Tudor History you seem to have a lot of trouble connecting the dots.
@Stormiya I know what Katherine told her nephew. If i didn't its a simple as watching the show. Anyway Katherine and Mary refused to say Anne was Queen-they kept themselves hostage. It was cruel yes but hey its as simple as telling a lie to see your child. Katherine loved Henry more than she loved her own child, that was her problem.
@KrunkPrincess15 LOL Wasn't sure since you have missed other parts from the show like when Henry confessed his fear of Katherine and why she must be kept away from Mary. Katherine Actually did it to protect Mary's claim to the throne. She wasn't just thinking of her marriage. She was thinking about her daughters future as the only legitimate heir.
@Stormiya The show and the truth sometimes are two different things....like now. And for someone who claimed to worried about her daughter's position Katherine sure seemed to care about her place at her husband side since as she said in the show she wouldn't leave it, even for their daughter.
@gOtHiCxAnGeLxox, please do not take this the wrong way, but Anne loved Elizabeth so much, she knew that she would be queen someday, and she prepared her 4 it every day. Her heart shattered when Elizabeth was taken from her.
Also, even though Henry luved Anne, and desired a son, he loved Mary with all his heart. She was his jewel.
So many people keep forgetting that just because she had Elizabeth, that she didn't do the horribly cruel things she did to Mary and other people. There was no excuse for that and Anne held so many cards and could have been a better person and she would have likely lived since she would have won the minds of people who would have admired her for being decent.
@TheNuharoo Instead, all she cared about was been a queen. I don´t understand: ok, you can like Elizabeth... but that does not mean her mother was not a bad woman, hungry for power who messed up the life of so many people, including Mary. That girl was fucked up after all the manipulations of Anne. Without Anne, maybe Henry would stayed married to Katherin
I cannot see why people favour Anne over Katherine... I really can't.
Anne Boleyn was severely disappointed when she gave birth to a girl; Elizabeth. And she might have (most likely) gone as far as to use Elizabeth as a means to save her own neck!
Whereas Katherine of Aragon loved her daughter and fought to keep her title as queen so that Mary might remain legitimate. For why else would she have stayed when her royal family in Spain would have welcomed her back with open arms?
Just wanna go there, kick his ass and give Katherine and Anne a big hug.

@TheSweden000 Anne?! Why Anne? She is the reason why this is happening to Katherine in first place.
