  • THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE... there's no need of technique to prove you're the greatest player on Earth.. Thanks Joe for this.. I really really thank you..

  • @Lokar92 He has technique. But technique for the sake of it is not cool. Thats why we all love satch, because he uses technique for it's purpose, to create the music that you hear in your head.

  • @SuperGeo1987 That's what i said =)

  • Awesome old tune. I love it cause I remember myself learning the begining of the song when I was 13. Sentimental thing.

  • OMFG GUITAR HAX

  • He even taught kirk hammet

  • CHECK GONÇALO PEREIRA...YOU WILL SEE AND YOU WILL LOVE ....AND THAN TELL ME, IF IM WRONG...IS A PORTUGUESE SATRIANI...YOU WILL SEE AND YOULL NEVER FORGET THIS NAME IN GUITAR PLAYERS...IS SIMPLY AMAZING

  • 15 people were Crushed by Love

  • @Uberado me too, that's why I love the song.

  • He expresses feelings with his music nobody have done before

  • @orschnu

Wrong...... SRV was the best at that, nobody played with more feel or emotion than him.

  • @mwlm1

nobody can judge who has more emotion in their music.

    ignorance in its natural habitat.

  • joe es lo mejor que pudo caer en la tierra¡¡ y lo mejor es que se encontro con una guitarra je :)

  • Looks like he suprised himself at 1:45!

  • F.Zappa had a hand in teaching Stevie how to play :)

  • @TheEliteNoobs .. steve vai was already talentet on guitar years befor.. steve showed up for audition.. and zappa chosed him.. and learned him to be more creative.. later on it was yngwie malmsteen that took him on a tour and made him more famous.. and after that it was whitesnake.. but he did make his own records duuring that.. just look for the right interwiew with vai and you see :D gods <3

  • @filthc - Sorry to disappoint but you are wrong- way wrong. Satriani taught Steve Vai how to play guitar. Vai later joined Zappa after an audition many years later. Yngwie did NOT make Vai more famous. Vai replaced Yngwie in alcatrazz after yngwie left. Vai and Satriani formed G3 with eric johnson being the 3rd guitar player and eric johnson left which yngwie was asked to join. Yngwie was famous but Yngwie didnt take Vai on the tour it was the other way around. Just to get your facts straight

  • Who cares about the quality of the video, everyone should own this album Live in San Francisco he is truly epic in that one...

  • This is Joe's best song I think ...even my mom who doesnt know shit about guitar music loves it hahah

3 year later and he's still goddamn right

  • 4:17 gotcha!!! NOT DIMARZIO!! :(

    seymour duncan

  • I can see at first that it's playback.... what's wrong with you people?!

  • the audio is just out of sync, how dare u say something like that about satch? =O

  • Wut?

  • @Bekonisko It's not playback, it's a poor quality video. There's another video on youtube of this exact video that is more accurate audio-video quality.

  • For Those Who May Not Be Familiar With Him, this song - The Crush of Love Live - is Satriani at his Best. IMHO, If you only have a chance to see one Satriani video, this is the one to watch. A real Master of the Guitar. Many people don't know that he was Steve Vai's mentor.

  • please see my clips of joe , i am bigger fan of marty friedman but i like a lot joe satriani. very emotional gutiar playing . thumbs up

    search for

    supermatrix555

  • i heard this song on its original recording, it came out in a guitar player magazine in the late 80s when most guitarist who play this style were still, on mummies titty. i have been playing guitar since the 1970s and this music was not available in our area, just heard it by chance. still an inspirational guitarist. go hard Joe.

  • The first album I heard by satch was the extremist. still probably my favorite. do you remember which one this is from? I probably used to have it lol

  • Was this the one in San Fransisco?

  • yep live in san fransisco 2003

  • More specifically, what are you saying?

  • looks like he is busting the worlds longest nut in his pants! I reckon that!

  • Satch.. You know I love you and your boy on the drums.Jeff...

My best music experiences were at some of your shows... so many shows..

  • surfing with the alien and this are reasons I got myself a wah pedal :)

  • Yeh same insperational

  • you can't beat prefection

  • Joe satriani is the best guitarist in the world.

  • @Chidori457

He's the best composer in the world. ;)

  • Early in his career, Satriani worked as a guitar instructor, and some of his former students have achieved fame with their guitar skills (Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett, Charlie Hunter).

When I started trying to play his music many years ago, I found why many adore or dislike him. He is unique Genies,!!!!

  • Yeah.. this is one of the best songs ever done! All of the guys are great musicians!!

  • I just love both of them..... By the way Steve Vai was a student of Joe sat.... Joe sat has a band called chicken foot with some old V.H people on it..

  • that is very true burg and eng opinions do vary however I think joe is way better than steve in quite a few ways, steve can do things with his hands joe cant I agree on that but joe has way more masterful meaningful songs when compared to steve in my opinion and I love and have met both of them and have all their cds and almost all dvds, half of which are signed directly. but to each their own.(all of joes and almost all steves)

  • Joe satriano the second best to Steve Vai. He is tremendous guitar player, and his musicians are excellent too. I like the style of Campitelli.

  • @engculichi3 Joe Satriani taught Steve Vai everything he knows. Literally! He was Steve Vai's teacher at one point.

  • Who do think taught little Stevie Vai to play?

And yes, some pass their teachers, but in this case Joe is atop the mountain that all he has taught look up to.

  • @hedkace FZ taught Stevie how to play and I do agree some teachers do get pass bye

  • @hedkace he also taught the guy from dream theater i cant think of his name at the moment lol... slap me... xD and also he taught kirk hammet lol

  • @ninjafiremans-i don't think joe taught John Petrucci. But he teach Kirk Hammett and Steve Vai. He also taught Larry Lalonde and Mike Tyson and Dave Mustaine

  • @BaneOfXistence4 aaaahhaaaaaa mike tyson. why so serious?

  • keep dreaming.....

  • he definitely looks like he is having the world's best orgasim!

  • Comment removed

  • @burgundey9 YESSSS

  • I went to high school in Danville with Jeff, Joe's drummer.. he is as good as a person as he is a drummer!!

  • I think is one of the very best. I like so much his playing style

  • Incredibile come quest'uomo entri cosi nella prorpia musica, sembra si senta male durante l'esecuzione..incredibile...Satch il migliore...!

  • Does anybody know what's the name of the concert ? :) Thank you

  • heute nur führ antonella

  • ist heute nur führ antonella

  • Such a beautiful tune played with such emotion. Satriani is definately one of the most emotional players and loving the Ibanez.

  • Hey, You none listeners to You Tube Bcast Yourself, "You are missing out on some intense Guitar."

  • 1:36 is the business :D

  • right now we are playing this song in my band, and the lead guitarist spend like a 10 min only in the solo, its like a marathon, but satch did a good job in this song.

  • @gathanatoa of course man its joe!!...hopefully your lead guitarist can get this song down i would love to be chillen listening to a band and then all of a sudden they start playing this song!!..that be sick!! anyway man goodluck with your band. love through music.

  • i always say the true legends of music are the ones who sound better live than they do in the studio

joe satriani is definately on that list

  • ....A gift from God......

  • hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the teacher... the master... the God... Joe Satriani.

  • ...the Satch?

  • There is NO WAY Vai is a better guitarist than Joe Satriani - especially considering Vai is a student of Satriani!!!

  • the video quality is poor? you've gotta be kidding!

  • Remember this man gave Steve Vai lessons as well as Metallica's Kirk Hammett I am a huge Vai fan don't get me wrong but give credit where it is due. This man 100 % talent and first class in my eyes. I've also seen a lot of his interviews and lesson videos Joe is a genuine nice guy.

  • His pinch harmonics are spot on. I think I just came.

  • Yeah he is AMAZING at pinch harmonics lol.

  • Beautiful, nothing else to say.

  • Always liked this track of Joe's. That's the thing about him, he can re-create an emotion in a piece of guitar music. There are many better technically but few can capture and deliver to our imagination like Joe. This of course is down to personal taste, experiences in life and openness to 'emotional feedback' ( quoted from Rush's "spirit of radio" ) The main thing is not to compare but just enjoy and if you don't enjoy then just move on and find what turns you on. Quite simple life really.

  • I think this was at the FILMORE in SF, It was a great concert.

  • Wow this is great, first time I've heard it. He has a cute drummer too ;0)

  • I suggest you do TigerEyeJewel - you won't regret it, I only started listening to him a few years ago & haven't really listened to anything else since! Pure genius!

  • i met him,,nice music& man,shall i say more?lol

  • very nice , i like

  • Theres no way Vai is a better guitar player than Satriani.Satriani taught Vai.

  • THIS IS SO CATCHY, i've never herd of him before, but now, i think i'll remember and start investing in his music collection
