Wow, been playin' 20 yrs and it still makes me wanna pick up my guitars, no won der they call em the teach, Steve Vai and Kirk Hamett ain't a bad start lol, love thing is awesome 2!

What a Great Live show ! And Great Musicians always surrond themselves with other Great Players Like Stu Hamm on Bass and Jeff C. on Percussion ! What a great Song Too !
THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE... there's no need of technique to prove you're the greatest player on Earth.. Thanks Joe for this.. I really really thank you..
@Lokar92 He has technique. But technique for the sake of it is not cool. Thats why we all love satch, because he uses technique for it's purpose, to create the music that you hear in your head.
CHECK GONÇALO PEREIRA...YOU WILL SEE AND YOU WILL LOVE ....AND THAN TELL ME, IF IM WRONG...IS A PORTUGUESE SATRIANI...YOU WILL SEE AND YOULL NEVER FORGET THIS NAME IN GUITAR PLAYERS...IS SIMPLY AMAZING

@filthc - Sorry to disappoint but you are wrong- way wrong. Satriani taught Steve Vai how to play guitar. Vai later joined Zappa after an audition many years later. Yngwie did NOT make Vai more famous. Vai replaced Yngwie in alcatrazz after yngwie left. Vai and Satriani formed G3 with eric johnson being the 3rd guitar player and eric johnson left which yngwie was asked to join. Yngwie was famous but Yngwie didnt take Vai on the tour it was the other way around. Just to get your facts straight
@Bekonisko It's not playback, it's a poor quality video. There's another video on youtube of this exact video that is more accurate audio-video quality.
For Those Who May Not Be Familiar With Him, this song - The Crush of Love Live - is Satriani at his Best. IMHO, If you only have a chance to see one Satriani video, this is the one to watch. A real Master of the Guitar. Many people don't know that he was Steve Vai's mentor.
i heard this song on its original recording, it came out in a guitar player magazine in the late 80s when most guitarist who play this style were still, on mummies titty. i have been playing guitar since the 1970s and this music was not available in our area, just heard it by chance. still an inspirational guitarist. go hard Joe.
The first album I heard by satch was the extremist. still probably my favorite. do you remember which one this is from? I probably used to have it lol
Early in his career, Satriani worked as a guitar instructor, and some of his former students have achieved fame with their guitar skills (Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett, Charlie Hunter).
When I started trying to play his music many years ago, I found why many adore or dislike him. He is unique Genies,!!!!
I just love both of them..... By the way Steve Vai was a student of Joe sat.... Joe sat has a band called chicken foot with some old V.H people on it..
that is very true burg and eng opinions do vary however I think joe is way better than steve in quite a few ways, steve can do things with his hands joe cant I agree on that but joe has way more masterful meaningful songs when compared to steve in my opinion and I love and have met both of them and have all their cds and almost all dvds, half of which are signed directly. but to each their own.(all of joes and almost all steves)
@ninjafiremans-i don't think joe taught John Petrucci. But he teach Kirk Hammett and Steve Vai. He also taught Larry Lalonde and Mike Tyson and Dave Mustaine
right now we are playing this song in my band, and the lead guitarist spend like a 10 min only in the solo, its like a marathon, but satch did a good job in this song.
@gathanatoa of course man its joe!!...hopefully your lead guitarist can get this song down i would love to be chillen listening to a band and then all of a sudden they start playing this song!!..that be sick!! anyway man goodluck with your band. love through music.
Remember this man gave Steve Vai lessons as well as Metallica's Kirk Hammett I am a huge Vai fan don't get me wrong but give credit where it is due. This man 100 % talent and first class in my eyes. I've also seen a lot of his interviews and lesson videos Joe is a genuine nice guy.
Always liked this track of Joe's. That's the thing about him, he can re-create an emotion in a piece of guitar music. There are many better technically but few can capture and deliver to our imagination like Joe. This of course is down to personal taste, experiences in life and openness to 'emotional feedback' ( quoted from Rush's "spirit of radio" ) The main thing is not to compare but just enjoy and if you don't enjoy then just move on and find what turns you on. Quite simple life really.
I suggest you do TigerEyeJewel - you won't regret it, I only started listening to him a few years ago & haven't really listened to anything else since! Pure genius!
