  • Hey everybody check out Ioannis Anastassakis' version of This Song.

    Its Amazing!!

Dont get me wrong this guy is amazing too.

  • You sir have inspired me to pick up flamenco. I only have an electric guitar so playing this is pretty difficult. :(

  • You know, the funny thing about Sal is that every video he puts out is better than the previous. Sal- I enjoyed watching and listening to this masterpiece so much. Thank you.....

  • amazing...

how do u make it sound that good on the recording? what kind of microphone u use? or is it an amplified guitar?

  • do you have the chords for this song?, I have been lsitening to it for so long, have worked out some of them but not all of them, please help

  • what guitar?

  • good unique style :0

  • this is beautifull..........

  • 一流的Flamenco結他手 ! great !! Thanks !

  • cool!

  • this video is just favorited!

  • AWSOME!!!!

  • you are great !! Could you tell me what that piece is and on which book is?

  • @grafferfome

This is my composition using bits and pieces I borrowed from other sources like Juan Martin;s "El Arte book.

The sheet music is available for free at my website

  • @hersoveela ok thanks

  • Amazing..... :)

  • no mameeeeeeeeeeeeees me encantooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who cares if it doesn't fit any traditional mold. What is "traditional"? It's what people used to play. Just give it a name and 100 years from now, Tarantos Hersoveela will be traditional.

  • I am going to begin to learn to play guitar. One day I hope to reach this level of skill.

  • Oh you're so damn good. This is like watching an athelete win the gold barely breaking into a sweat. Mucho jealousy. I know it took a lot of hardwork though, right?

  • It sounds so honeyed !

Really pleasant to listening to you ;P

  • Straordinario...

  • Seems a little slow for a taranta? no?

  • Lindo demais!!!

  • i dream to be like you on playing guitar but unfortunally iam 20 years old whatever the told me iam talanted and i got a scence in music but i think its to late now :(

  • I started playing guitar a the ripe old age of 23.

  • @hersoveela i'm starting too dude i'm 22.

  • all u need is practice and love for things u are doing

  • @abckimoabc Never too late to start. I started at the age of 43.

  • @abckimoabc Guitar is not like an extreme sport, you can practice it till you die (almost)

  • @abckimoabc

Its never too late to start playing the guitar. Maybe some techniques will be a bit harder for you, but hey im 21 years old and play the guitar since im 17.... you won't learn it within a year, especially not flamenco ;) it takes years to learn how flamenco techniques are played. The nice point of flamenco is that you have a lot of freedem, sometimes its funny when you simply play some chords in different types. So, give it a try :)

  • @abckimoabc it's never to late to fulfill a dream - don't give up! ever!

  • @abckimoabc - it is never too late...I started playin Violin at 60

  • @abckimoabc It's never too late if you love it:)

  • your a freakin guitar god well there only one god but you get my point

  • What's the original name of the sound?

  • do u have the tabs?

  • Yes. Visit the website

  • BRAVO

  • Great playing!

  • Waw..

  • I'm always impressed by your play. Thank you.

  • si esto que tocas son tarantos yo soy mejor que paco de lucia jajajajaajajajajajaj hombre por favor

  • beautiful :) one day i'd like to play like you!

  • What is the name of the technic at 0:20 ? Sorry i'm a begginer... the others parts I have found in other hersoveela videos and lessons. Help please!

  • This is called legado or legato and is bassically slurred notes. Some people call this hammers and snaps or hammer ons and pull offs

Download the sheet music from the website,

    Sal

  • hey, while talking about flamenco techniques - what's the name of technique when you play rasgueado and then move your fingers back through the strings and again and again? I don't know if you understand me but I can't find it anywhere...

    anyway...great video!!!

  • Bravo

  • I am a pro modern jazz and blues player

I really enjoy your playing total respect regards

  • Muy bien

  • Omg.Awesome..!

  • Señor, you kick serious ass! Well done.

  • this is amazing.

  • excellent guitarist

  • supeeeeeeeeeeer great

  • I LOVE it! Bien hecho, señor.

  • hi, is there a possibility that the chords may break. I am too afraid that hey will so I try to be gentle with a guitar and I don't get the sound I hope.

  • well first of all to avoid confusion, i would call 'chords' strings.. And they shouldn't break, unless your being particularly rough with them, which I doubt..

    Best of luck.

  • They don't break easily, and if they break, fuck it and buy new strings.

  • HAHAHAHAHA true!

  • bravo bravo

  • hey hersoveela im matt and i have a question. is a classcial guitar(nylon stringed guitar) good for beginers learning the guitar?

nice music it made me feel at peace!

  • yes

  • thanks;)

and by the way your music is amazing:)

  • You're a very excellent guitarist

  • tiene un nivel profesional este hombre

    vaya famoso

  • que es un nivel? es como un pagina del RED?

  • WOW!!! just fantastic........ I bet that old guitar sounds better with age.... it's like a wine..... ha ha .... your music makes me feel both happy and sad at the same time... alot of emotions.... great work and i will buy the graf martinez dvd's and try to learn this style of guitar..... do you recommend this dvd for flamenco beginners? I play rock and a little classical now.....

  • Graf Martinez books and DVDs are good. For other recommendations go to me website and look in the menu under "Learning Flamenco".

    Sal

  • This video is just awesome!! Who is this guitarist??

  • five star

  • Very, very good.

  • I will learn this music

  • I will if you give me 10 years to get to a decent level. Meanwhile, I'll just listen to whatever you put up!

  • This piece of music is breath taking. its really a great piece of art.. I have a question, when you do the quick stroking in the index finger (donno what you call that technique in flamenco) i noticed that you also use your thumb to make some sort of a bass sound. Is there any sort of tutorial of how to do that. I can make the stroking easily but without moving my thumb..

Thnks for the great vids :)

  • The thumb does make a bass sound because it plays a bass note occasionally. The other sound you hear with the index strokes is the index finger tapping on the body of the guitar.

    Sal

  • Hello Maestro,

Just wondering if you have any explorations with cuban style. Since you offered us a Leonard Cohen song on top of your flamenco, I thought you might have more surprises...

Thanks for puting up 82 videos, all interesting, including your tutorials.

    Regards

  • I have nothing in Cuban Style. Perhaps you can up with something and surprise me.

    Sal

  • I look up to you as a novice trying to learn Flamenco.

  • Your playing is wonderful, Sal. Please don't listen to people like SirDewdalot and continue doing what you're doing! :D

  • I find SirDewdalot very funny actually. For a guy who lists his occupation as Studmuffin and his company as Bastards Inc., should we really be so surprised by some of his comments. I'm not. In fact I welcome a bit of diversity from the dark side. He summed up his head space beautifully by asking us to "pretend he was a cockroach with 5 heads." Since he has an obsession with being right about me being a crappy guitar player, who am I to argue with the cockroach thing.

    Sal

  • Well, then, I commend your light-hearted demeanor, sir!

  • first you just proved the points i made in my last comment, and secondly the irony in your statement is hilarious

  • opinions are relative to the minds of individuals. you're not gonna affect anybody's opinion of his playing with your atrocious spelling and repetitive insults.

  • *yawn* be useful and troll some pop music vids

  • your messenger rant is as lame as your argument.

  • ya I mean that'd be like some jackass liking flamenco cause of the fast 'lil patterns.

  • alot of the techniques that he does are alot harder than they sound

  • loved it amazing... great job...

  • It's a shame that this sounds like it was recorded using the on-board camera mic. Slight high-pitch whine when I listened on headphones. You should record this properly and do it justice!

  • well to each there own for pickyness about sound quality but it sounds better than poor to me more like above average.

  • amazing. If you ever come to melbourne to perform sal ill be there!

  • Nice job Sal, I love this one. I'm working on tabbing this song on Guitar Pro as well, but for personal studies(probably won't post it up on youtube). You play wonderful, i'd love to have a relative or friend such as yourself in my family so that I can learn alot from. Keep up the work.

    -Joe

  • absolutely great!! wow, put more of these on youtube

  • You should create a music page on facebook! in the iLike application so people can add your videos to their page (I know I would add it to mine!) and it'll get your name out there.

    :)

  • Nice as cake!! Love from "El suroeste de Inglaterra".

  • If I ever make a million bucks, the second thing I'm going to do is to send you a beautiful Alhambra guitar.

You are a wonderful player, but that guitar is awful. It doesn't do you justice.

  • hehe im asian and playing flamenco lol^_^

im still learning, all i can do rite now is the farruca and the armpejio(i spelled it wrong i think)

  • loved it...

    just brilliant

  • me gusta tu paraguayo.

    lol

  • You are a very talented guitarist!!!

  • FOVEROS!

  • PA; QUE TE CORTEN LAS MANOS

  • gj dude nice playing there

    *claps*

  • muy bonito desde españa saludos

  • Hey Sal.....that was really awesome....I'm blown away! I've been playing for like six months now....I was able to learn how to play your Rumba thanks to your instructional video. What would it take for me to convince you to make a similar video for this song as well??? That would be really awesome!! Thank again for all of the online stuff.....your really an awesome dude

  • you play really really well... how about changing the guitar though ?

it's good you play for yourself: so many people are appreciating the music ! please keep on posting vids and tabs. That's precious source for me to get them ;o)

  • wow!

    your very talented!

  • Can you copyright this?

  • The minute I uploaded this video You Tube copyrighted it for me. At least you can see that it is me playing it. The sheet music was copyrighted in a similar way the minute I uploaded it to my website, not to mention the date stamps on the downloaded copies. Plus the "Wayback Machine" has conveniently archived an image of the first page of sheet music for me when I first posted it. A rouge publisher would have a real hard time proving it was not my composition. Isn't the Internet wonderful?

    Sal

  • Yeah it Sure is. I have some of my own stuff, i thought about posting it on the internet but i had some concern about it, since i have not "legally copyright"

  • I have Juan Martin's book, and his tarantos is a little diffrent than the one you play. Is the tarantos that martin play the original....and this version you play your composition? Or is their more than one tarantos and i am completely off, and they are not supposed to be anything like each other? They are both great but i think i like the one you play a little better.

    excuse my ignorance:(

    thank you Sal.

  • As I said in the video description;

"This music in this video does not pretend to fit into any traditional tarantos mould or follow any structured pattern. It's just a simple collection of Tarantos bits and pieces and other ideas I cobbled together."

What Juan Martin teaches traditional stuff in his book.

    Sal

  • Sorry Sal your right. I should of read the description :(

  • You play it sooo well it makes me cry!

  • mono bryn

  • You are a beautiful man

  • How romantic song is this and how played well.Wonderful.I wish I could play guitar like him...Music is my only religion.

  • OLEEEE
