It...was written as a sappy love song, for about a specific woman. Obviously, you know the entire purpose of the song. Good songs (which this is a great song) transcend genres and limited preferences.

it wasnt a sappy love song, the original idea behind this song was about a fake baby at an airport stuffed with heroin and about drug hardships and sex, but axl had to change the words around because the record companies didnt allow him to release it with its original profanity. I assume you're referring to the Eddie Trunk interview...where he says The video was supposed to depict that, but that's not saying what song was about. The video concept was rejected, not Axl's lyrics. Also, the baby was supposed to be dead...not fake. The part that was cut, as far as i know, was Slash's slower solo, you know..the heavy slow sappy part...which Axl loved and was upset over the cut. I LOVE the original, one of my fav songs ever,,,and can't hate that it inspired Crow.
