The only reason WoW is rated better than AoC is because AoC is actually difficult to play and requires skill, while wow is simply target and click. WoW's class balance changes every update because it requires no skill whatsoever and depends solely on gear hardwired stats. Basically the Devs choose which class gets to own it up each update.
The only pvp game better than AoC at the moment is Dark Age of Camelot. Period. Anyone who thinks differently has obviously never played DAoC or AoC.

Interesting..a game that requires skill with the use of your combos, and evasion to miss the enemies attack, and active blocking to block incoming attacks.
It's not like WoW or other mmos for example where you click a move or spell and bam it just happens.
I'm also liking the epic finishing fatalities aswell. Meh, maybe I'll go and give it a try on a trail account.
@cubbyhomes It doesnt work as well as it sounds. Age of Conan is a very fun game and very massive, but the shield system isnt very useful, only to melee and not very much so. I dont know anyone who changes their shield system around, if you are a melee character is the only reason you will use your different attack directions. The active blocking isnt very useful either. Beautiful graphics and amazing classes though.

I think melee combat in this game is the best, because if you press the right arrow your sword goes that direction and makes it feel much more like you're in control of your chraacter.

Look this game is good, for a while, then you try some other mmos, then you realise wow is the best, its simplistic. Your all part of something big, teaming up to stop on a gnomes face, there are lots of things wrong woth it... but still the best mmo is wow, fact.

On that note, in terms of what is good or what is best, popularity and simplicity rank very low on such a scale.
I played AoC to level 80 and what ended up turning me off about it was the lack of endgame pvp content. If you don't like the sieges (which are lagfests) and you happen to be bored with the weak 6v6 minigames, there isn't anything else to do other than gank. The raids aren't that cool, except Vizzy and Yahks, so endgame kinda lacks imo. I'm playing Aion right now and really digging it, of course I can't form a final opinion until I hit endgame.

Daoc has been dying ever since wow, eq2, swg and a ton of other games all decided to come out and make a name for themselves around 2004, 5 years later, the game is pretty much a ghost town, with about as many people on freeshards as there are in the actual game.
Warhammer online was such a disappointment in comparison that I quit playing after a couple weeks. Hopefully the siege RvR gets better in AoC even with it's diminishing pop.

WoW, CoH/CoV, GW, LotR, WH and AoC are all fucking easy. You don't need skill to lvl up nor do you need skill for PvP in any of the games I listed. The only game that I have played the required any skill was Everquest, it sucks now but back then it was amazing and took real skill to raid.
Go play Everquest, fuck. Try doing a raid that takes literally days of planning, then several consecutive hours to actually DO the raid, unlike the 15 minute shit WoW throws at you. You also need way more people in EQ than on WoW for raids. It's way more of a team effort.
LOL WoW is sooo fucking easy. After I played for 3 years I only knew a single person who could beat me at PvP. Idk why some people don't get WoW, so easy =.=

I tried this game a yr ago and tbh it was a mess. I've recently tried the 2wk re-trial they are offering and I have to say it is SO much better. Have yet to crash once (it crashed every few hrs b4) The game runs super smooth in Dx9 (50-100+fps)@1920x1080 maxed out. Gameplay/quests are well thought out as u lvl. If u were considering trying it, give it a go, if they had released THIS they would have kept so many more players. Honestly having good fun on my HoX.
btw mythic & daoc was before WoW, WoW basicly stole there idea for there pvp format, annoying when ppl say "looks like a wow rip off" as if WoW didnt rip anyone elses ideas off!?

Well I think its because of the Graphics demand and because of when it launched. I heard it had allot of bugs and not enough game content. I could be wrong though. But I agree with you when you say its much better than point and click. It brings more interest and life to the game. At least that is what I think. If you do sidestep or any kind of steps in combat you must wait for a few seconds to hit, that s fucked up. Characters should be facing the target if selected. Guess what? They dont.
Anyway I had big expectations of this game try it couple days ago and well my fingers got tired of pushing those fucking keys 1,2,3 to hit. What the fuck happened with left mouse click to attack, right to block, and directional movement keys for a different attack. The game is annoying and stupid ant thats all there is to it. Oh yea and the graphic isnt so spectacular either.
This is actually shitty game and that so called intuitive combat system is also shit. Ever play assassins creed? That s a good combat system, pushing keys from 1-9 isnt. Comparing the combat system single player action game like Assassins Creed to a MMORPG is just retarded. You have more abilities than WoW offers, and unlike in WoW (and this is what makes the combat fun) You need to actually hit the person to land a combo or an ability. So player positioning is important, and your ability to MOVE while fighting is important.

WoW, CoH/CoV, GW, LotR, WH and AoC are all fucking easy. You don't need skill to lvl up nor do you need skill for PvP in any of the games I listed. The only game that I have played the required any skill was Everquest, it sucks now but back then it was amazing and took real skill to raid.

Go play Everquest, fuck. Try doing a raid that takes literally days of planning, then several consecutive hours to actually DO the raid, unlike the 15 minute shit WoW throws at you. You also need way more people in EQ than on WoW for raids. It's way more of a team effort.

I tried this game a yr ago and tbh it was a mess. I've recently tried the 2wk re-trial they are offering and I have to say it is SO much better. Have yet to crash once (it crashed every few hrs b4) The game runs super smooth in Dx9 (50-100+fps)@1920x1080 maxed out. Gameplay/quests are well thought out as u lvl. If u were considering trying it, give it a go, if they had released THIS they would have kept so many more players. Honestly having good fun on my HoX.

There is nothing in the video that even remotely reminds me of WoW...how is it a wanna be? because its an MMO? WoW was fun until the expansion now its just boring gear runs. no one even does world PVP anymore which was the big selling point when it first came out.

Have you played WoW lately? graphics & gameplay are soooo shity, they added motorcycles, airplanes & tanks to a fucking fantasy MMO thats like putting a mustang in lord of the rings for mr. frodo to ride to drop off the ring of power!
It just dont go WoW is a dying ass game & compared to AoC its really outdated, I se tons of WoW players coming into AoC saying how much better & polished game it is, but im sure there are WoW fans that will play untill that shity ass game stops.

Well I think its because of the Graphics demand and because of when it launched. I heard it had allot of bugs and not enough game content. I could be wrong though. But I agree with you when you say its much better than point and click. It brings more interest and life to the game. At least that is what I think. But I love how you can just perform finishing moves or remove a limb on your opponents, that was a great idea. Im looking forward to playing this game as well.

Ok so graphic isnt bad I realized that I can put it to max settings. But combat is still shit!
If you do sidestep or any kind of steps in combat you must wait for a few seconds to hit, that s fucked up. Characters should be facing the target if selected. Guess what? They dont.

Anyway I had big expectations of this game try it couple days ago and well my fingers got tired of pushing those fucking keys 1,2,3 to hit. What the fuck happened with left mouse click to attack, right to block, and directional movement keys for a different attack. The game is annoying and stupid ant thats all there is to it. Oh yea and the graphic isnt so spectacular either.

This is actually shitty game and that so called intuitive combat system is also shit. Ever play assassins creed? That s a good combat system, pushing keys from 1-9 isnt. Same shit like in WOW, and what s that story with succubus pet? Couldnt they think of anything else, I wouldnt be surprised if they throw in woidwalker and felguard also lol.

Comparing the combat system single player action game like Assassins Creed to a MMORPG is just retarded. If Age of Conan would have been a single player RPG, the combat system would have been massively different and like your precious single player games. But it's a Massive Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG) and a single player combat system like in AC just is NOT possible in a free roaming MMO at this time and if you knew ANYTHING about computers, you would know this as well.

Oh and did I mention that unlike WoW, in Conan PVP is 90 percent player skill based in PVP. I've killed people 20 lvls higher than me just because I was able to outfight them.
Say what you like about Conan, but it's combat system is FAR more unique and fun than other MMOS.

1-3? You have 6 different attack directionals first off, not 3. You have more abilities than WoW offers, and unlike in WoW (and this is what makes the combat fun) You need to actually hit the person to land a combo or an ability. So player positioning is important, and your ability to MOVE while fighting is important.
Your just trolling because you can't handle the combat. 1-3..You hardly even understand it.
