Lovely video, I thank you for sharing it. I'm trying to persuade my dad and brother to come with me to both Isle of Man and to Goodwood but so far I haven't been able to get them to go with me. Since I live in Sweden it's a trip cross the lake but I think it will be worth it.
What a wonderful day. My Dad used to take me to Goodwood in the 60's when the likes of Graham Hill and Stirling Moss were racing there. This video brings back great memories. I have a bunch of cine films that my Dad took at Goodwood. in the 60's. I will have to get them uploaded to YouTube.
I look forawrd to seeing those let me know if you get them on. Its a great day i try to take my kids every year they are F1 nutes and we go to the festival of speed. We were lucky enough to get Stirlings autograph on my sons racing overalls at the festival of speed and Damon signed them a couple of years ago when he was their driving one of his dads cars. Ill be their on the 20th this month armed with my video again
Maybe I can plan my next trip back to the UK for the 2010 revival. I wish I was going this year. It looked great on the web site and on your video. I am working away right now but when I get back, I will dig out the avi captures of the cine. I have the dvd here but the quality suffers a bit with the compression. I might be able to upload them for you. I am sure that you will appreciate the rare footage from Easter 1961 and 1962 Goodwood meets. The pit shots look almost like your video..lol
Regards to our friends in Sweden. A trip across to the Isle of Man during TT fortnight is sheer heaven if you like motorcycle racing. A very friendly atmosphere. Enjoy!
I started with motorcycles at the age of 5, sitting or should I say clinging on to my dad on the back of his Honda 500. I so do hope to get to go there this year, so if you catch eye of two blond chaps with blue eyes and a short one with a big grin on his face, just shout out and I will shout back in a good and not to awkward way, well hopefully.
When racing cars were cars and not upside down aeroplanes, loud, smelly(Castrol R..mmmmm)and you could see the driver. (and yes Mr Stewart, a darn sight more dangerous too... aah, worth the risk..
How amusing... I feature in your video clip. Im the passenger in the Aston DB3s at 4:48! The best day in the classic calender and a great clip (especially your sons complaint about one of the car's bodywork!).
Funny watching this a few years on - I've been going for 10 years and all now the same as it was, except the crowd is about 10 times more dense!

Great video, thanks for posting. My Mom went to Goodwood as a teenager back in the fifties and we both attended this year. We loved it.
