Barevids, odd suggestion, but I put my REX 8 8" in the closet and the door open's by itself and shakes everything in my room and others so it would be cool to see u put these in the closet and see how they sound. ^_^. Also, what model technics amp are you powering these subs with. The amp is a technics, right? Also, how many watts per-channel is it? I am looking for a new amp, and maybe some vintage amps can save me a little, and still pound. Thanks.
Thanks man. Wow, 137.5 rms is nice! I was gonna look at this, but now I am thinking about getting this 300 watt plate amp from partsexpress untill I can afford an 800 watt. Unless someone would reccomend this to me for a 800 watt sub. ^^ Its an RE 8. People have pushed 800 into it b4
you have your sub on 8 ohms? i'm talking about his amp tho! 2moro evening i'm doing some vids of my L-ported 0.5 cu ft 33hz 6.5" sub on my technics su-z150 (30w RMS @ 8 ohm @ 20hz @ 0.08% THD :-)
Funny you mention, right after I posted the comment I said to myself, well it dont matter since I got a crossover. Maybe I will get this amp if I can find a good deal.
hah, but I have found amps that are just like it. I found one that is 1 model down from this, the SU-V450 that I am looking into. 50 watts rms per channel, but I dont know the max. Would you happen to know anything about that receiver? Would it still have alot of power?
i don't know about that model. hey i've just hooked up my sub to my technics and its good but there's a small leak in the box which needs sorting but for a 6" it hits mad low, i get flex from stuff in my room at frequencies down to 30hz!
have u ever tried ur 8's out of a corner i noticed that they seem to be posisitoned in what looks like a solid corner ive read in the setup/help section of hifi magazines keep speakers well out of corners other wise say hello to mad bass ive had experiences myself where ive put speakers in corners they have given off some mad amounts of bass i put the same speakers up against a wall with about a foot behind them and the amount of bass dropped considerably try a video showing this maybe ????
dont ya think it would make a difference i think it would i imagine if you played a song that seems to rattle a few things around ur house with the subs posisitioned in the corner now that same song same subs but in lets say the middle of the room i dont think there would be somany if any rattles and i aint saying that through what i think would be im saying through personal experience where ive got less bass from speakers that aint been posisiotned almost directly in a solid corner
love ur room

Well, its not really a subwoofer amp, so I think it would be better a sub amp so it sends the sub only certain frequencies below 100hz

i have a crossover

good luck finding it! both Sam's amp and my amp are so rare, they are not even on the vintage technics database!
