  • Skirts dont have to mean effeminate. Effeminate doesnt have to mean gay. Fucking stupid.

  • The people on this show need to die

  • Lil Wayne made skinny pants hot, he can make skirts hot.

  • Society is the only thing determining the meanings of clothing. By themselves, clothing items mean nothing! Leave it alone! Let everyone wear what they want.

  • i like my boys in skirts

  • Consider Easter clothing up until Western influence entered into Japanese culture. Prior to Western influence, the traditional Japanese clothing was very long skirt like clothing.

Of the two boys in the picture, the one on the right is far closer to traditional Japanese clothing than the very Western boy on the left.

  • Who gives af ? If he wears a skirt, then he wears a skirt . Done .

  • just wondering if someone was a guy and went to TYT wearing a dress for a job if they would hire them and if not would be considered inappropriate or sexist, and if it was then couldn't the same be said about woman wearing pants and not being hired for the same reason,i have asked this question before and never had an answer and do not expect one but ask it out of curiosity

  • As a Japanese American with a lot of Japanese family, I kinda see this as an attempt by the younger Japanese to find individual identity in a culture that has traditionally promoted a homogeneous identity. I think this would have more implications for sexuality if it were happening in America.

  • ok im not gonna lie if i met a dude like this at first id be like ok tht is weird kinda akward but thn after sum time id like o thats jonnie he likes to wear skirts no big and also come on one look at the guy in the first pic give him a staff and some pryrotechnics and he can so pull off pretending to be a mage or sum kinda sorcerer or some shit like that which i think is awesome

  • Look at the mad cross dressers.

  • Cenk: I love you, but fuck you. Why are you even showing this story. A tiny tiny portion of human history has men wearing pants. If a person says to you, I wear (x) because it's comfortable (the wind fluttering through the hems or whatever), and furthermore, I think males (as in most species) ought to be allowed to wear the more "elegant plumage" (as if anybody needs your permission), even a person who wears makeup or war paint, who the hell are you to BROADCAST your ignorant protests?

  • everyone use to wear skirt before pant are invented. pant were introduce due to the need to ride horse, and slowly got adopted by non-riders . traditional attires still feature skirt like design in Asia, even in manly traditional like sword fighting and bow shooting, our formal attire still look like skirt.

why should people conform to some strange western concept of pant = manly?

  • In an individualistic society like this one, the tendency is just as Eric Fromm described it: the freedom makes us more isolated, and we escape freedom by conforming.

In a collectivist society like Japan, the opposite may be true: conformity is strictly reinforced, so you escape conformity by deviating as far away from the norms as possible.

  • I suggest that the kilt is considered non-feminine not because it's traditional but because of the design. They aren't shaped or coloured to be be pretty or elegant, as skirts are. There's really nothing inherently feminine about them, hence feminine-brained people, whether male or female bodied, don't like to wear them.

  • @fullmetalcorset Just over half of male crossdressers report themselves as something other than exclusively straight (bi-curious, bisexual, gay etc.). Among the general population of men, the number who report themselves as something other than exclusively straight is significantly smaller. So there is a correlation, it's just not as strong as people tend to assume. :-)

  • what do close have to do with sex i mean rely

  • that's just way too girly o.o

  • I just had my first real (female sport) skirt and it feels good better than any trousers or jeans or the trousers from my suits. To all man you don't know what you are missing It's Freedom, And NO I'm not Gay/Transsexual/Travertine/Androgen At All.

+Have you never heard of the Ancient Egyptians/Greeks/Romanians etc. Warriors whit skirts Only whit a different Design and Label But Basicly the same.

++By wearing it and just going through your normal day You will feel more of a man than youwerebef

  • Only in Japan.

  • Yeah, I agree with the Skirt Tribe. F*CK PANTS!!! As to quote a famous poet "I'LL REVISE YOUR LEVIS WITH PHYSICAL HARM! GONNA PUT RIVETS IN THE DIVETS WITH MY PHYSICAL ARM!"- Andy Samberg (Lonely Island)

  • 1:02 I'd like to get in touch with Ana's feminine side.

By the way, do you remember the first few episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation where the men in the crew would sometimes where those miniskirt things? I guess Roddenberry thought that was progressive, too, since he had women in mens' uniforms and men in women's uniforms.

That being said, I couldn't do it. Maybe I'm not open minded enough, but I just couldn't do it.

  • i don't care what the hell i wear, as long as i look snazzy =)

  • Like, your presentation begs the questions: "If pants are for guys, aren't girls who wear pants cross-dressing?" and "How gay do girls have to be to wear pants?" Gender equality cuts both ways, so the inevitable logical progression is guys wearing skirts. It's happening now. Way to go, babes!

  • there's an element of rebellion in wearing this in such a conformist society like Japan

  • wow, are you guys seriously being unfair. so they're gay because they're wearing skirts? you guys should listen to what you were saying, this mad me very angry to listen to you guys talk about this. it's not funny nor right to say that they are gay because they like to wear skirts. so now girls are lesbians because they like to wear pants? because they like the way they look they are now interested in the same-sex? you obviously don't understand what goes on in their minds so leave them alone

  • @mrsmonkeyking250 you obviously didnt watch the whole video, because they are saying that the dude is a crossdresser, not gay...

  • I love TyT. But seriously, you need to look into the culture of other countries before throwing your insults to members of said cultures.

  • I've never met ANY gay guy who wears a skirt...

  • thats what u called TRANSVENTISM.. period

  • @mimi3321 Ignorant you can't SPELL. Ignorant all are born naked, who wears what is WHIM not biology. Ignorant--psychiatric CULT used to call women in pants INSANE--NY Times May 27 1876 P.6 also psychologist Horace English 1958 women in pants was TRANSVESTISM. Ignorant, ignorant, i and I know something else about you based on demographics of your name and it's revolting!! Medieval Italians regarded pants on ANYONE as ridiculous read about Pantalone!! Self determination for all not only women

  • You guys are are homophobic listen to yourselves

  • damn her tits are so fuckin niceOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..

  • One thing I know for sure is TYT pisses off Australians and the Japanese off.

  • @zaggers77 and us scotts lol.

  • Do they wear panties under it?

  • yeah,i live in japan, and actually i see many guys in baggy pants which look like skirt,or actual skirt.and also the other day one of my friends were like "i want a skirt" i was like wtf?

  • It's just sad to see how closed-minded and culturally-lacking these people are to just slam someone like that as "gay" or

    "retarded" in a negative light.

It's very admirable because girls and guys alike can wear whatever they want to express the unique human being they are and they are unafraid to show it.

Isn't freedom of expression something so many people in the past have all died for?!

I know something like this is strange but please respect all cultures. They're all beautiful.

  • Works in Japan, FAIL in my country.

  • One of my Japanese friends told me that straight guys in Japan are getting effeminate day by day while gay guys are getting macho.

  • The definitions are faulty. Fancy clothes = effeminate is FAULTY. Nature offers the male peacock & male lion MORE decoration than females. Read about The Great Masculine Renunciation on Google. Roman legions wore skirts and pants wearers today would run like all hell from them. Skirts are NOT "female" they are "human" because of NO diff of anatomy. Style diff does not = sex diff. Greeks today still wear skirts so do South Seas men, Egyptian dervishes and more others than you'd believe.

  • 9600 skirted Romans killed 80000 Britons at Battle of Watling Street Alexander the Great wore a skirt & massacred larger Persian armies. Maximinus Thrax military governor of Mesopotamia wore skirts & robes. He stood 8'6" wore bracelet as ring outran racehorse. Bill Kazmaier in kilt turned over full size auto on level surface by himself--engine & transmission not removed. Men in skirts are not necessarily effeminate STOP reasoning by association that's what a child does. Skirts = sex neutral

  • @skirts365 i agree skirts are sex neutral, but skirts that have feminine designs, and are made to be worn by women, are not sex neutral, like the one that japanese dude was wearing. that was made for a woman, it had flowers, was pink, had like 100 different cloths, (usually) men dont care about the trim or the feeling of the cloth, and dont care how it flutters in the wind.

  • @crackerz99 South seas men do wear floral prints and are not womanly. When USA women started wearing pants in wartime factory work, they wore pants "intended for men," their husbands pants left in the closet that went to war! Intended for so and so is in the end nonsense. Every skirt/petticoat I own was "intended for women" except fustanella & it is frillier than most skirts "intended for women" Catholic clergy wear lace men should avoid bras & female impersonation but don't restrict choice!!

  • The point of this episode is just to make Cenk and his nerdy friends look macho. Cenk, you're a big fat pussy with a tiny penis. SHUT UP ALREADY.

  • Cenk gercekten kuresel kultur farkliliklarina tamamen kor yaklasiminla cok "gecen milenyumsun." Elinden gelse Afrikali kabilelerin kilik kiyafetine de bulasacaksin. Japonlarin altkulturlerini inceleyip elestirebilecek duyarliliga sahip degilsin. Kolaysa Turkiye'yi yonetenlerin teletubby kiyafetli uzayli kiyefetlerini elestir!

BTW bu kanala Ermenilerin dolusup kufretmemesini soyismi Ermeni olan sunucuya mi borclusunuz. Kurnazsiniz. Ama dunya gorusunuz kit-otesi. gencturkler mis...

  • IT'S JAPAN. THEY DO THAT.

    Cultural differences people

  • His feminine side?

History lesson: Pants were not worn for the first 100+ centuries.

And women wear pants everyday... are they all lesbians?

  • @dakoneko Well a whole lot of women are bicurious and lesbians, but I see your point.

  • @dakoneko

and muslim men, catholic priests etc

    no trousers

  • Males have been wearing skirted garments for thousands of years. It's funny how now days it's okay for a man to wear a skirted garment only if it's a kilt, and if he is Irish or Scottish, but if he's not heaven forbid! Now days everyone is so quick to label a male in a skirt as gay. Did you know most gay guys don't like women and would never wear there clothing. We have been on this earth for so long and yet we have so many closed minded people! That's SAD!!!!

  • @rudyiking

Exactly. Epic fail TYT. They really bombed on this one.

  • Irish people don't wear skirts. It's the scottish.

  • Actually I find men in skirts/dresses sexy. A lot of ladies I know do. And Japan is a very endrodenous so this isn't a big deal to me. I wish you could have shown more than the one photo. it would be a more honest view of the sub-culture.

  • The black guy apears to have an open mind out this .....but the other dumbed down, insecure jock heads seem about as as bright as a box of rocks.....

  • Bullshit

  • Bullshit

  • as a japanese, its embarrassing. I can understand if i see those men in skirt on fashion show. as daily wear, i feel very awkward. i cant tolerate skirt boys, cosplay peeps, or overly tanned gyal girls, i just feel WTF.

  • I wanna bang all possible chinks, gooks, japs

  • these guys are so fucking ignorant....

  • I think it's cute and it'd work on some men, can't imagine my guy in a skirt though :P Women can wear pants and if guys wanna wear skirts then go ahead, perhaps in the future it'll be common.

  • I am 25 yr old woman and I agger with you some men do look cute and or sexy in a skit. Since Woman can ware pants and or skirts. I to hope that it do to think that if men... want to ware skirt I to think that is ok.

  • you guys are so closed minded. In japan people dare to be different. They come up with their own style and create what they want. It's not a crime and their not gay either. you guys should've done research. their rock music is also called visual kei where Make-up is worn and skirts and lace and whatever but funny about 69 % of jrockers are married or have girlfriends. like miyavi people said and say he's gay but he has a daughter and a wife now. Open Your Minds. fat dude is ugly btw.

  • If there were no cultural stigmas at all I would probably wear skirts.

    Not mini skirts though.

  • C'mon guys, why so offensive? You can't say that you accept it and who cares, but then link a piece of clothing with gay guys?

What the Hell? Stick to what you know.

  • I got in touch with my feminin side once, I had trouble removing the pencil lead from my dick hole though

  • What the hell ever happened to the samurai and ninja macho culture of Japan?

This country needs a super shot of testosterone and needs to grow some balls once again.

  • yay japan woo

  • Fuck society wear what you want.

Only a closed minded person would associate clothing with gender. Like all the fundamentalists who want women to wear ankle long bathing costumes and burhkas. That is what was once considered "normal" in society. If everyone had Cenk and the other guy's view that we should reinforce social stereotypes then change would not be possible. We wouldn't have Bikinis or hot pants!!

Tell it like it is Jayar...Men's Liberation baby.

  • @Seleucus84 fuck change, i'd rather not have guys walking down the street with skirts and shit

  • @Seleucus84 HA HA YES

  • @Seleucus84 Who made up these ethical rules anyway?!

Ask yourself that everybody. Is it right that total strangers throughout supposedly ancient times are going to control our lives in the present by making these rules?

  • Also you guys forget to mention the 1 billion men in India who wear sarongs which is like a skirt. Maybe in urban areas they wear it at home, but in more rural areas, men wear them everywhere. It is all cultural relativism.

  • C'mon! Masculinity is different in each society! In some societies, muscular is masculine. In many Asian countries like Japan or Korea, "pretty" boys are considered to be more attractive by women, NOT muscular men. So it's all perspective!

  • So true! If you take the Kpop band Super Junior, look at their MV for Happiness (Haengbok). It's all pink, makeup, lollipops, cutesy dancing. Then their video for U, dark clothes, trying to be sexy rather than cute. IDK about every girl but I personally prefer the cutesy video. They have such soft faces, I think it fits them better :)

  • Yeah exactly. And there's nothing wrong with that. You are attracted to what you're atracted to.

  • Their U video was Sooooo unbelievably corny.

  • the kilt started out as a multipurpose garment. the scots would use them as tents, blankets and even fishing nets and in battle they would strip off and fight butt naked, which could be considered more gay than wearing a kilt.

the whole skirt thing is just a natural progression from guy-liner and manscara.

women, be warned. we're coming for the thing you hold must dear: YOUR WARDROBE!

  • well at least he isn't wearing a mini skirt. its just weird becaues its so rare, but there is definetly nothing wrong with it.

  • The analysis of gender construction is sorely lacking here, but Anna, you're looking hot!

  • I thought they were doing it in defiance of gender stereotypes. Why does it have to be crossdressing, does a skirt have to instantly be associated with a woman? It's sexist and we should move past it.

  • The Young Turks become less impressive each video I watch. Here they come across as stuck-up conservative homophobic simple minded and boring. If you can see your prejudices you should at least desire to get over them.

If the Japanese fellow explains that he's not gay even though he's wearing a skirt, there's no reason to follow that with "He's wearing a skirt, so he's probably gay".

  • Let's hope its just a sarong!! Japan already has an unsustainable birthrate!!!! Oh dear!

  • no it doesnt

  • Yes it does!! Everyone knows that Japan has an usustainable birthrate!! And it doesn't seem to be getting better! Oh dear!!!

  • i thought they had an ageing population.

  • I misinterpreted, I thought you meant unsustainable in the sense that the population was too large to sustain.

  • Lets hear it for aculturation and cultural snobery from the nation most renowned for its homophobia.

Honeslty, guys, i love you but damn! look at what YOU'RE WEARING! Brown and stripes, black and white or the ubiquitous T-Shirt (black). Northamerican fasion sucks for men, we lost the fasion wars. If you want to blend into a crowd or wear a uniform where your only permited variance is in colour or stripes, tie or no tie and the more severely plain the better, go ahead. don't judge this guy.

  • So the guy puts on a different piece of clothing from what society says is acceptable, and he becomes a homo? Perhaps it's just his form of protest?

But really, this show is attacking him clearlly. That guy isn't afraid at all. So if he says he's not gay, he's not gay imo. It's not like he's trying to hide anything anyway.

  • I've been coming to this site for over a year. I stop by just to give it a one star rating. And then I move on.

  • for years i have been wearing a towel rapped around my waste whenever at home and around the yard ,much to the bewilderment of my friends and neighbors , i am not a cross dresser , nor do i have gay tendencies ,i simply feel more comfortable .i believe it may be a race memory from my scottish heritage or i picked it up when i was a kid that spent many years on the beach with a towel rapped around . consider why the pacific islanders wear their sarongs , its fucking hot in jeans and jocks .

  • so this is my question for the young turks why isnt there more promotion of men in feminine clothing like come on why not push to make unisex clothing!

  • Jayar has it backwards; kilts, togas, kimonos, all these things predated pants. Skirts and pants, and their gender-specificity, are much more recent, so it doesn't make sense to say that someone just decided that kilts were manly.

  • Why do you hate women so much?

  • I don't hate women, don't know where you're getting that from. Men shouldn't be wearing skirts which is why I said they should have some common decency. Nothing wrong with women wearing skirts because skirts are specified towards that gender.

  • Pants were specified towards the male gender. Should all women not wear pants now? Should the first women to create the trend of wearing pants have had some "common decency" and go back to their dresses & skirts?

  • How is it a disgrace? It's just clothing. Is it a disgrace that I'm a girl yet I wear jeans? Is it a disgrace that comedian Eddie Izzard wears high heels and a dress?

The answer, no. It isn't. Clothes are just that...clothes. I don't get why people have to put so much importance on which gender wears what.

  • The reason why it is offensive for a man to dress like a woman, yet completely tolerated when women dress like men (wearing pants and t-shirts for women is acceptable where I live) is because we have these age old ideas that men are better than women. It is understandable in our society for a woman to want to be like a man, however the idea that a man would want to be like a woman makes no sense in a world where men are valued more than women. That is how this all started in the early 1900s.

  • When women wear pants... are they cross dressers?

  • it used to be that way

  • Whahahaha, 3:54 indeed xD

  • Sorry cenk, you are definitely the bad guy here.

  • British noblemen wore skirts a thousand years ago, and stockings and corsets, clothes don't really make the person if you think about it from a historical aspect. If there weren't a stigma... and i didn't have such hairy legs, I might actually be willing to wear a skirt. But I am gay, so sadly I think there would be even more stigma and what not to me doing that.

  • Shave them and you'll be good to go...

  • Man, normally I like TYT, but they're just being BASTARDS. People dress the way they want. WTF guys?!

  • I am a little upset too, its culture clash..!!!

  • Everybody should be told when they're acting like a total bell-end. You make stupid blanket statements about a race of people, ignoring the subjectivity of the matter altogether, and throw around homophobic insults like you're 13. I don't care if you don't care whether or not I care that you don't care what I think about you. Get over yourself, and stop being such a cheese-beetle.

  • it's a sad commentary for TYT that you're obviously making fun of these guys who are much more secure in their sexuality than 96% of Americans. I thought I was watching Fox News for a minute.

  • It's a different tradition. They know they are putting on clothes that are intended for women, that are looked upon by society as feminine. It's all relative; no one looks at the kilt as feminine in Britain.

  • there is nothing inherently feminine or masculine about wearing kilts and it is determined by culture and tradition

  • I prefer to wear hippy skirts, not because I'm a woman, but because they are so much more comfortable than pants. I think it's sad that men stigmatize themselves into missing out on the joy of wearing a skirt. I know very few women who would possibly look down a dude wearing a skirt - it's guys that hold themselves back in this regard. Too bad.

  • Women who started wearin pants were originally labeled crossdressers. and wearing so-called "shkirts" or "dresses" is very traditional in a lot of countries, africa, abrab counries, no one wears pants. I think crossdressing is when u are trying to appear as the opposite sex, i think they are just trying to make it oka for men to wear skirts. In japan en traditionaly wore kimonos, not pants.

  • gay guys are not girls...

  • So after debating "manliness", do we now call what Muslim men wear "dresses?" I'm sure they like the airy feel. What abt Catholic robes? And yes, the kilt IS a skirt. Remember, men were wearing "skirts" LONG before they were wearing pants. My point is, b/c it's called a skirt, Cenk is going nuts. But if you call it something else, maybe it's all right? WTF? Personally, I think Egyptian men depicted in skirts in ancient art were more man & could kick more ass than TYTon ANY given day. Sorry Cenk.

  • girls do like to decorate themselves but if you see a Scot wearing a kilt (skirt) I'd highly recommend NOT assuming he's gay

  • Like Ana said, women in the 1800s were insulted for wearing pants. Men are 200 years behind in terms of equality in clothing options, so insecure men need to leave these guys alone who are just being pioneers. The only reason people love kilts so much is that there's a liberation in breaking social taboos but the guys who wear them are still governed too much by what other people think about them.

Cenk, man up and put on the damn skirt.

  • I don't want to stigmatise here, but I lived in Japan for 15 month and I was again and again shocked how "gay" the majority of Japanese men actually appear in public. Not only how they dress themselves but also their way of talking, their gestures and the whole habitus. And I found this image also confirmed in Japanese media, commercials and so on. So I believe the guy when he says that he's not gay, but only because I've seen even more feminine guys in Japan before.

  • now i know why japanese chicks go crazy and all horny when they see a white or latin man

  • You are full of shit... I feel like hitting you.

  • how am i full of shit? my cousin was in japan and told me all about it.

  • Did you know that most japanese look down on outsiders? You know what they call anyone who isn't japanese in japan? Gaijin.

You'd be hard pressed to find any girls that wasn't sluts already to find want "white" and "latin" cock.. which you're just telling yourself that to make you feel like someone wants your ugly butt just because you are white or latin.

Piff, you have to be attractive to attract the opposite sex not "white" or "latin". Any race can be attractive.. douche.

  • Type "White man cafe in Tokyo" in the video search.

  • Ah, you think that the whole friggin race? You idiot INTERRACIAL DATING ISN'T A NEW THING. IF YOU OPENED YOUR EYES YOU'RE IGNORANT UGLY BUTT WOULD SEE THAT INTERRACIAL BARS/ DATINGS SITES ARE ALL OVER. Friggin ignorant buffoon. I'm supposed to be attracted to you just because you're some ugly white guy? Fuck off.

Hell lets get random.. Type monkey sex in tokyo in the video search

  • you mad? god damn, you need to chill out i meant no harm, you sexually oppressed psycho.

  • Fuck you and your ignorance.. its generalizing bastards like you that I wish would die off. You think a whole race of people want to suck your dick because you're white? Why you arrogant dick.. go get stabbed in the heart that you don't have.

  • HAHAHAHA!! do you even stop and think how you come off? cursing off people, and wishing death on people by getting stabbed..i feel sorry for you. have a good life alone, i'll take care of your women for you -_-

  • I hope I come off like an evil condescending bitch. You deserve much more than that. You generalizing piece of shit. Me love white fat american men long time? Give me a fucking break, you stay your fat asses in America.

  • gaijin isn't a bad word, it just means foreigner. it's a shortened form of gaikokujin, and gaijin is just like saying "fridge" instead of "refrigerator". It is not bad intention.. You imply that it is a bad slang when it is not. The reason you might *think* it is bad is because you sometimes hear "baka gaijin" which means "Stupid foreigner". gaijin in itself is not offensive, but if you say "baka gaijin" it is offensive.

  • or I might think its bad because there are many establishments where there are 'no gaijins allowed'

  • they do that only rarely and mostly in the heavy tourism area, because their are so many foreigners around that do cause problems in that area. There have been many cases where foreigners go into bars and start fights. The reason is that in their country, (US, AUS, etc) bar fights are a normal thing that some people even look forward to. In Japan, this is taboo. You don't go into a bar and start fights. This is why many gaijin are not welcomed in some places because so many do not respect.

  • ... you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @LovelesEntertainment

....yes i do... many foreigners don't respect and do whatever they want.

  • Ive been scotland and hardly anyone wears a kilt. And im pretty certain you'd get stabbed for walking around in skirt in Glasgow.

  • Maybe he just likes to go comando and let his junk hang in the breeze....sounds drafty and nice.

  • Why does that guy always feel the need to play ignorant male patriarch? I thought The Young Turks was a left leaning show...? I'm not even sure if he's being sincere or not with his discomfort about gender bending politics.

  • i like the show better when its just ana and cenk.

  • aren't japansese always attention whore seekers when they wear clothes... i mean they always dress loony like that pandabear look

  • JR man you keep saying amazing good points all the time.

  • God Ana looks bomb in this episode.

  • Not even women should wear skirts. They are a highly impractical type of clothing. Japanese basically have no sense of individuality. They believe being unique is a good thing and yet they are incapable of being unique, so the closest thing they can get to being unique is being part of a group of people who dress strangely. In Japan, there is no Culture, there is only Consumerism.

  • Uh....aren't Americans basically a bunch of mindless consumerists as well?

Hell, look at every tween girl in the USA. You'll be hard-pressed to find one that doesn't want to buy the latest clothes from (insert trendy store here) or own the latest CD by (insert name of no-talent singer/band here).

You want to talk about a place where there's no Culture only Consumerism, look no further than the MTV/Disney Channel generation here in the good ol USA. Japan's got NOTHING on them.

  • TYT is clearly setting a double standard here. Cenk and Ben are showing their ignorance of this issue.

  • Kilts were around before pants were in Scotland... I think.

As far as the skirt wearing "fad" goes... No matter how messed up or weird you are, there is somebody out there who is into it. The key to a happy life is to find somebody as messed up as you are and enjoy yourself.

    :P

  • In Japan it is ok for straight men to look "pretty", not something people can understand outside of that culture until you get to know their culture. A lot of men there cannot pull of a buff/macho look, thus, they go for a pretty look and many women there like it.

  • Isn't that a stupid looking dress?

  • Yep.

  • Who care what people wear... I mean it wasn't that long ago that Women who wore Pants were badly seen... If a guy wants to wear a dress, its up to him, Dress are less practical than pants anyway...

  • Men all around the world wear skirts - only they go by diiferent names. There are entire countries where men wear traditional "skirts" but are named sarongs, kains, or whatever.

  • Yeah. I can't say that I like wearing skirts, well actually I wouldn't be able to make that statement because I've never worn a skirt. But I don't care if other guys like it. I think it has nothing to do with their sexuality.

I think I just expected TYT to be as open-minded as they say they are. They say, sure it's ok to wear it. But you need to admit that you're gay, or a little gay. And that makes no sense. One has nothing to do wit h the other.

  • I often wear skirt-like clothing (I'm a guy). There's a tie-dye wrap I often wear, and I also use an old bowling shirt wrapped like a skirt over my shorts, but I'm not gay. I would wear a skirt if it was socially acceptable, but the stigma (especially here in the South) is too much.

    Skirts are more comfortable!

Still, you can walk around home naked all you want... :D

  • yes. lol

  • CRAB PEOPLE CRAB PEOPLE

  • "quilts" lol.

  • Hey Cenk, you've been posting loads of crap about my country recently haven't you? I think you're going a bit too far (e.g. about the growing number of gropers in Japan which isn't true at all). You know what Cenk, I remember seeing a bunch of emo boys at malls wearing skirts back when I stayed in Cali, so how come you don't talk about them? Don't get me wrong, I'm still your huge fan, but there are things I can't turn a blind eye to

  • the statement "I like how the hem flutters in the wind" may be effeminate in our culture, but the same not can be assumed universally

someone at some point had to establish such arbitrary social standards such as gender roles, so there is really no reason to follow them

  • ana;s boobs. lookin nice

  • The only thing that makes a guy wearing skirt crossdressing is societies perception. People aren't born with a perception of what clothes people should wear, we're taught the differences we practice. Really kilts, skirts, or whatever seem easier to deal with, practical even.

Why exactly the guy went out of his way to dress like Betsy Ross, well...

  • Wow, those are huge knockers!!

  • Why do you pronounce "Jesus" as if he was from a country in which Spanish is spoken? He is Brazilian, the "J" in his name is pronounced just like "Jesus" in English.

  • Jesus is from mexico I believe not sure, But he speaks spanish and looks hispanic, Take a wild guess he's spanish.
