@ConTacTzDiddy The general story is similar, but some characters were omitted and some characters play a slightly different role (if you need to know the plot for an English assignment or something, do NOT use the film). It also suggests at the end of the TV film that Tar dies; in the book Tar survives and does make efforts to recover from his addiction.

When I was 11, I read the book and loved it. Someone told me there was a film adaption called "Trainspotting". As most of you know, it's similar but not the same: disappointment. So now I see this and I have to stop after five minutes because this is something completely different than the book. Disappointed again.

It's unreal how long I've waited to see this. I officially fell in love with the book when I was a teenager...and am completely disappointed with this awful adaptation. I haven't read it in a while, but isn't Tar supposed to be this downtrodden, working class, scared kid? Here he looks like he's just walked off the set of Grange Hill

ugh i read this book for the 1st time when i was 12 and fell in love with it. and this so called adaptation just made me fucking angery. its makes them luck sad and stupid and its just bad acting and bad filming and not worthy of the book at all.
