personally Maple Leaf Forever > O' Canada (granted no mention of the french is in the anthem but that could always have been changed, I mean we change O' Canada every 5 days)

Actually, Alexander Muir himself edited one line of the song (and even claimed it was his original version later) after the same comment occurred in the 19th century. His edited (or original line) was:

And joined in love together,

The lilly, thistle, shamrock, rose

The maple leafe forever

See, he just swapped entwine for lilly, which is a fair compromise for the French, and for keeping the tradition of the song.
