Well, this is the era of G.W. Bush, so "victory" means whatever the hell you want it to mean at any given moment, subject to change at any time. So I guess "Victory in 2008" is kind of like the political equivalent of "What I want for Christmas"...

A war against Iran would be not only completely unnecessary (no one likes Ahmedinejad, not even Iranians, but he's not dangerous and it's not worth a war), it would be a global catastrophe. The Iranians first and for most, but the Israelis, the Americans, the Arabs would probably end up on the shit end too. It'd be a mess and it would be a disaster.
