  • Baked chips are amazing. They remind me of Pringles. Sour Cream is my favorite flavor.

  • Cakes, chips, pretzels, cookies, fruit? You must be joking. There is nothing healthy about any of these items (I won't even call them foold) The focus on low-fat and low-calorie totally misses the reality that these are high sugar foods. It is insulin-resistance and high-sugar diets that cause obesity. These kids need to be eating lots of naturally occurring fats in real food:meats, butter, cheese, and eggs and completely eliminating sugar, starch and grains.

  • It's not just about the calories. It's about changing the way you eat and the way you view food. "And then there's of course fruit"? How can you wean kids off fatty, sweet foods if you have them believe that lower-fat versions of these foods, that taste the same as the higher-fat versions, are okay? I agree with tutorwife... this is ridiculous.

  • ...........ummmmmmm....broccolli, carrots?

  • they failed... no difference in the kids at ALL

  • They ae normal people, just like everone one else, do you never at things like chips, cookies and cake? I know I do, so if and when you are going to, it's nice to know that there are these healthir choices out there.

So Thank you nutrition teacher Sara, I appreciate the work you do and your advice for Healthy TREATS. We all know about fruits, nuts, veggies It's alot more difficult to choose items aside from that.

and Jeez...you kids are doing great!!!!!

  • Holy crap! That's what a nutrition teacher at a fat camp is teaching fat kids to snack on?? Cookie cakes and chips??

Whatever happened to fresh fruit, carrot and celery sticks, low fat yoghurt, almonds, etc.??

Jeez... No wonder these kids are still fat...

  • @tutorwife93

I think she was showing those things because it would help to wean the kids off the foods that were really fattening.

  • @tutorwife93 Wow....you obviously haven't seen the kids progress..eating healthy isn't about eating vegetables and drinking water 24-7..Those snacks are perfect for those kids..it really comes down to calories in the end and the lower the better.....of course healthy foods are good nutrition for your body but you can still have cookies and candy..IN MODERATION..I'm sure she gives them all those things you mentioned she was just showing her top 5....God bless Wellspring Academy
