Gravity which is a constant. Over any distance the arrow will drop even though it may not be noticeable over short distances. Physics - as the arrow decelerates it drops faster as gravity pulls the arrow down. There are many factors involved including draw length, poundage, arrow weight, size, pile, fletchings.... Archers Advantage - has all the answers. Input to distances with sight markings and the software should do the rest - pretty accurately. It even accounts for shooting on inclines.
@wrinkle66 im so sorry mate, i did not leave that comment lol, im no rookie, that was one of my mates, ive been shooting and hunting for well over 5 months, before that comment was posted.
Just starting with some crappy compound, but that kind of relaxed shootings where I want to be. I dont care 'what you shot' what does it matter? same as with10m pistol its taking the shot thats the buzz?
I got a bear polar ltd 39" compound bow yesterday and I've been shooting it using my fingers. I don't know much about bows as you can probably tell but now I feel dumb for not getting a quick release. however I've been pretty accurate with it even with using only my fingers. hurts like hell after a while though.
hey, i cant pull the 55-65 lb bow, but im try to pull it every day but not work out,im tall 5'5 weigth at 146,how many lb of bow should i get....any comment please
@nref55 thanks you so much i just pull the 60 then the string jump out, may be i pull it incorrect, but now i have a dxt 50-60 and set at 58 i can pull he bow easier.
but i just brought a z7 1000 com wth everything ---brand new and they available for 8 of them u guys should get it if u like mathews bow... lol
The Excaliber is selling well over here now. Ben had a few niggles with it but it he sorted them eventually, though the launch date was postponed. Good advert for Merlin and their bows being shot in the USA, where Hoyt & Bowtech dominate,,,
Nice shooting, though I consider compound bows just string based guns. I prefer traditional archery, but can't expect everyone to like the same stuff. BTW good music : >
With your release, does your d-loop ever tear because you don't have swivel head?? I've went through 3 d-loops with a release by Stacey... I swiched to T.R.U. Ball release
was that 20 yards i only hunt but i could have hit the x almost every time at 20 yards and i dont have a scope just pins and about a 5 inch stabilizer not a 5 foot one
@bowhunt365 what kind of stablilizer do you have, i got a true glow one that comes with the little wrist sling but it sucks so bad, i think is cuz its super light, it might be ment more for recoil.... any advice bro?
nice video, and nice shooting, but with all due respect, these hi-tech weapons with all those sights, balancers, reinforced engines and computerized control panels, are not bows.
face it.
i'd call them blockbows (because of its blockers)
so in our family of ancient shooting weapons, we would have bows, blockbows and crossbows :D
Yes, they both are cars, but it's not the exact analogy.
it would be the same, if we compared two blockbows, one of them rather primitive, early model and the second one, last product of modern engineering, full of all kinds of hi-tech gizmos.
the analog of real bow in this setting would be a chariot :D
That must be the prettiest damn bow in the world! Great vid. Real professional look. Perfect audio track. This really makes you want to go out and get a bow for yourself.
i haven't even started to shoot a bow but i would really like to start with a Compund Bow but im 13 and i need a bow that is under $300.00 and a draw weight of at least 50-60 ... I dont want to use it for Competiton as this guy is... his stabalizer and color gave it away... anyways i want to use one for fun and maybe when i CAN get a lisence i will go hunting with it so please help me!
Very Nice shooting, I'm a novice but I really like your bow and I'm really impressed with your shooting as a lefty too...I personally never seen someone shoot that way :P. Also, what bow type is it?
I belive the term you are searching for is Recurve bow or maybe a Long bow. Also, Compound bows have their own little tactics you need to master to shoot with great accurarcy.
haha I'm 13 too and i just got into archery and bought that exact same bow with the grow up with parker system and i got mine set at 35 pull for easy target practice but i got the bow for $322 and that includes tax, arrows, tips, and the pull
i love my merlin i juss got my new sight it similar to yours its an easton fatboy it has crosshairs my merlin is juss like your its identical same arrows stabalizer and release its a four finger though i never could figure out thos back tension releases
Thanks for noticing. Here's an idea. How about you post video for your friends and family to watch and I'll be the Asshole that comes alone and tell you that you suck.
@afssanders dont worry about it, thats what youtube assholes are all about. great vid, just showing my friend how awesome compositie bows are and your vid is a great example. nice one!
Thank you. I love the way Merlins look as well. It was a little under a grand. The goodies hanging off it with a dozen decent arrows end up costing about the same as the bow. Add a top of the line release and you're over. You might think a grand is a lot, but compared to other top of the line target bows. A Merlin is a great deal for the money.
Is that a Stan Super X you're using. It sure looks like mine anyway. I have a Quattro M and I like it...very crisp. I also use a Stan Eagle 2 finger for hunting. I think I prefer the middle finger trigger, but like almost everything else in archery it comes down to personal preference. Good X busting, man! What is your best NFAA 300 so far? My best is 57X, but I won't stop 'til I get 60! LOL It seems tough, but I'll get it sooner or later....probably later.
It is. It's a modified three finger. I don't really keep track of the x's much. I'm more concerned about getting 300's every time, but I do get between 45 and 55X's
I'm about to start archery. I'm about 6 feet tall and need a compound bow, any suggestions?
And are there some exercises for getting use to holding your bow or drawing your arrows back?
