This is delight. The song is from a forgotten Broadway musical called Mercenary Mary. Music and Lyrics by William B. Friedlander and Con Conrad. Mr. Conrad also wrote The Continental for Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! Love it!
I can just BARELY remember 78 rpm records. Really amazing when you think how recorded music has come--from 78 records to LP's to 8 tracks to cassettes, to CD's and iPods.
Recorded on May 6, 1925, and one of Whiteman's first "Orthophonic" (electrical) recordings, even though it wasn't identified as such [the original Victor label {#19671} merely suggested to buyers, "For best results, use Victor Tungs-Tone Needles", meaning, "time to upgrade your phonograph, 'cause a new era in sound is comin'!"].
"money is honey, honey im lin love with you" where can ı get this song with the lyrics?
