  • ugly colours !!!!!!!!!!

    ft86 is ugly toooooooooo !!

AE86 is the best car ever

  • can't wait for a F20c GT-86

  • both cars are nice but i prefer grampa ae86 cause its all toyota. i dont hate on subaru's ether

  • why is it called ft86, when it isnt made in the 80's?

  • @qgwueirbtbyo AE86 was the chassis code for the original car. The FT-86 was the concept version as well, the production model is called the 86, GT86 etc for the toyota model and is a blatant nod to the old model and the cult status it has obtained. Hopefully this car can do the same.

  • The GT86 looks almost stock. It will need some tuning for the full potential to be unleashed. But from what I've read it's a perfect base for modding.

  • Ft needs a nicer set of wheels and lowered

  • (AE86< GT86) <Supra

  • i wonder if that boxer engine still has that subaru rumblw.

  • 新86この時200psかぁ~ HKSがターボキットだすだろうなぁ~

  • 新しい86、ドリフトあんまにあわないなぁww

  • どのくらい馬力出てるか気になるなぁ

  • that awkward silence when the GT86 silenced the crowds with its engine... @3:37

  • I thought the "FT" is for the concept car? The new car is GT86.... Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • its called toyota 86. FT is the name of the concept version which is stands for "Future Toyota"

  • that's touching.. Great Great Great Grandfother with grandson

  • BGMとアナウンスがうざい

  • what is the non hatch AE86 called

  • Although the GT86 produces less "Smoke"; it looks clearly much more controlable and stable at every moment of the Video. It drifts just perfectly from one and to another corner, while the AE86 just changes between controlled and uncontrolled sliding.

Just watch the video a second time :-)

  • I need the specs for the new 86 please!

  • why are they driving in a circle

  • I need to learn Japanese so i can understand what the drivers are saying!

  • So u guys would start to go around calling Toyotas a Subaru now? sheeshhh.. I know Mitsubishi Carisma has the same platform as a Volvo V70. I also know Mazda 2 and Fiesta has the same platform. Do i call them by their platform names? Its the same its the same. I already know they are the same. That is why the have name tags to make them different. I wonder if i'm blind or u guys play too much video games.

  • @netmatrix75 Platform sharing is one thing. But a collaboration between TWO manufacturers to build ONE car is another. I still think it's more of a Toyota than a Subaru based on a number of things, like the fact that Toyota DID use a boxer engine before, the design was in part influenced by the 2000GT, and the tires used were aptly named Potenza RE-86 by Bridgestone hinting at it's true nature, not to mention many other trivial details bearing "86" name.

  • @apexdna U are on the 86 camp. While the rest is on the BRZ camp. There is no problem here because its the same car. But with an obvious logo between both cars, people only relate boxer engine to subaru, so they start calling it BRZ. Its like having a boxer engine in a toyota is sacrilege. Well it is not! Just call the cars by their badge ok?

  • @netmatrix75 What camp do you speak of? I don't even own a Toyota to begin with. You want badges? How about the fact that all 3 models bear the "86" emblem on their front fenders? Yes, all 3, two of them being Toyotas (Scion IS a Toyota by the way), and ONE Subaru. Toyota already had a boxer engine in the Sports 800, so I don't think it's "sacrilegious", especially considering the fact that it was specifically made for the chassis. It's not like we're swapping an EJ20 into an AE86.

  • @apexdna And also, unlike "people" like you, most enthusiasts associate boxer engines with Porsches first and foremost, then Subarus.

  • how the gt86 looks strangely like a s2000 at some angles in this video.

  • @krazor14 looks partially like a legacy to me, too.

  • I wonder why some of you guys and video uploader still call it a BRZ when it is clearly a FT86? There is a Toyota badge on it for gods sake!!!

  • @netmatrix75 ITS THE EXACT SAME CAR FOR GODS SAKE! WHO CARES!!

  • @netmatrix75 they are the same model

  • @netmatrix75 cause the toyota badge is the only toyota thing on it.. its all subaru... SMH...

  • @netmatrix75 Under the body and interiors it's the same car.

  • Comment removed

  • @netmatrix75 i believe the question in description is asking if you prefer the Subaru BRZ or the Toyota FT86.

  • @netmatrix75 Ft is for the concept , gt86 is the production name !

  • bad drifting, the 86 is REALLY underpowered.....can barley make a smoke

  • @flawns mate dont comment about drifting if u dont fully know what your talking about

  • Suburu, just because of the name

  • Comment removed

  • @kcajk FT-86 is a Subaru BRZ and vice versa...

  • 二台が並んでると、新旧っつーより使用前使用後みたいな印象だな(≧▽≦)

  • スポーツカー業界がにぎやかになるためにも、売れることを願います

  • 狭いねえ

  • AE86 > FT86

  • @DRIFTINGxHOONSxNZxAU Your High the FT86 (brand new racecar) was sideways the entire course in this video. The AE86 went straight through most of the course and had to pitch back in to a countersteer three times. FT86 better weight balance, powertrain, brakes everything.

  • @blupsause Old School > New School, All Day Everyday!

  • @DRIFTINGxHOONSxNZxAU i agree...

  • @DRIFTINGxHOONSxNZxAU stop hateing i love both

  • That was a very quick drift contest, haha.

  • woah... D1 is gonna be full of suprises now on

  • i was hoping that this gt86 twin drifting with ae86 hatchback version.but to know that ae86 first generation could still closing the gap with the new one,it makes me relieve.

  • i still luv ae86 more than ft86...

  • @toyotamonsterforever You do know that GT86's design was also influenced by the legendary 2000GT and the boxer-engine 800, right ?

  • @apexdna then shouldnt they have called it the FT2000GT instead of the FT86... just saying...

  • @KameKachi Uhh duh that's why they named it GT-86...

  • @apexdna by why reference the AE86 name if the AE86 didnt have a box motor or had the 2000GT body styling... DUH! get my point? They used the AE86 name reference when the GT86/FT86 doesn't resemble the AE86... DUH!

  • @KameKachi First of, the FT86 is a concept car, and GT86 is a production model. Second, did they call it AE86? I didn't this so...an AE86 with a EJ20 swap isn't an AE86 anymore.

  • @apexdna Ok KID. Obviously you don't get what I'm talking about. But if you want be be a smart@ss. The GT86 was said to be the new AE86. The original designer and developer of the AE86 who played a part in the development of the FT/GT86 even called it the new AE86 in a press release. Toyota's marketing scheme promoted the GT86 as the new AE86. But how is it the successor of the AE86? As YOU said the GT86 is influenced by the 2000GT. I don't see any AE86 influences at all in the GT86.

  • @KameKachi Everybody and their grandma knows it's supposed to be the "successor of the AE86". BUT it's nowhere close to being the "new and improved" AE86 you're claiming it to be. It's got a Boxer engine for crying out loud, who cares how they're trying to market it, smart ass. HALF of the car is a freaking Subaru...don't get me wrong I love the ride, and I think it's gonna change the current state of things when it comes to affordable sports cars. BUT damn, are you farting serious?

  • @apexdna Look, you're obviously just a auto fan boy/trendy image band wagoner and you won't understand the point of view of a purist or a loyalist, and you'll never will. Also, I never said the GT86 isn't gonna be a great car, but the concept of marketing and naming was retarded. Get back to me when you get your license and can actually drive. "Are you farting serious?" how old are you 12?

  • @KameKachi And how pure is an AE86 with Subaru boxer engine again? Didn't think so, "fanboy". How come you're not screaming "sacrilegious" if you're so loyal? I NEVER said I was the biggest fan (yay!) of the AE86 to begin with, so what's your problem? The GT86 is NOT the AE86 you're fantasizing in your loneliest dreams to be? And then you're telling me "the concept of marketing and naming was retarded"...make up your mind, girl.

  • @apexdna Dude I'm done after saying what I gotta say this last time. Looking at your replies to everyone that commented on this vid, it seriously makes you the poster child for abortion. Your mother should of swallowed you before you were conceived or smothered you in the face with a pillow when you were a baby... YOU are just a KID with INTERNET knowledge and just a BIG FAN BOY. STOP talking like you know LEGIT FACTS or ACTING like you KNOW whats up!... DONE.

  • @KameKachi You've failed to make a point, and went as far as to contradict and embarrass yourself a number of times. Good bye.

  • @KameKachi I like TO make my VOICE go up and DOWN.

  • @toyotamonsterforever ugly car, that car will cock block you from all girl

  • @flawns Really? How old are you? We are car guys for a reason...some of the many reasons we are into cars IS to get away from woman problems, NOT to attract them. Get a G35 or something...you moron.

  • bmw z3 tail lights, mazdas grills, toyota headlights then 00:42 came and I paused it, appreciated its originality-uniqueness-legendary status, then was forced to stare at the bmw/mazda/toyota/subaru aka MANBEARPIG's car. fast forwarded to 1:30 watched the drifting but could only stare at the 86 :) awww now back to work.....

  • I think its time to head over to Ebisu!!

  • @alexander1485 all three variant of Toyota GT-86,Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ have the same engine dude...

  • butttt the new one has a subaru engine!
