You know, I have gotten hundreds of comments in the years, and I can say that vitually all of them have been positive. EVERYONE loves them!
I know I am boring you to death and I have said this before, but I had the pleasure to meet Paul Stookey in a small children's bookstore in Alexandria Virginia and it was a highlight of my life! I Love you !
I haven't been able to listen to PP&M since Mary passed away - until now. I miss her so much - I've been a fan of PP&M since I was around 9 years old and I'm now 58 - Love you dear Mary
try the czech version: "spiritual kvintet poutník a dívka" it´s really beautiful! i like it even better than this one...still peter and mary are simply amazing-i love "where have all the flowers gone" song
I only really got into them recently after hearing If i had a hammer! And know i could just listen to there beautiful music allday long! Rip Mary we miss your beautiful voice but know the angels have another beautiful singer in heaven!
Mary Travers' voice, when I saw PP&M some five or six years ago, was as clear and powerful as it is in this recording, even at her then advanced age. And yes, I shed a few tears when I heard she had passed. But my mourning her death comes right back to me whenever I hear these three consumate artists. We will not see their like again, I fear.
@gjm1953 You are SOOOOO right. I regret that I never got the chance to see them (never came to Ireland) They were my inspiration when I got my first guitar in about 1964 I learned to finger-pick from Puff the etc There will never be another PP&M and certainly never another Mary Travers! I still burn tears when I think about her! In the 60s she was such a truly stunning blonde (she and Michelle Phillips were my pin-up girls) Ah... Memories!!
Szuper. --(Sajnál is engem egész Szamár!) -Asszony, asszony! Nem a tiéd az,ami mind az Úré. Kinek ideje lejár,mind-!!- megboldogulé.

Amen. I recall that dream I had when I was sleeping. PP&M did a previously unreleased recording of a Christian folk song entitled "Side By Side We Stand." It was a beautiful acoustic sound I heard clearly in my dream, with the double bass and the guitars blended with the harmony of Peter Paul and Mary singing, "Side By Side We Stand, waiting God's command, worshiping the saving king." The song is about heaven, as the end of that song goes, "Pray that we all will be there."
I'm almost in tears here. PP&M were my favorite group when I was in my late teens and early twenties. I'm from Mary Travers' hometown and I cried when she died. I believe I played every one of their songs when I used to play. I miss them a lot. Thanks for uploading.
That is wonderful that you were from Mary's hometown. I too had tears in my eyes when she died because I grew up listening to her too. They were a staple in my younger years and to this day I still listen to them and never tire of hearing their songs no matter how many times I hear them. They were from a time long gone; a time of love and gentleness. Their spirit of love and purity is badly needed these days. ~~~ Chuck Schoon
@rnuge01 My favourite group when I was about 12 or 13. But I never realized that they sang about "jesus" who ever that was. I'm not really amused. I thought PPM would have been more conscious about reality.
@rnuge01 I'm WAY past "almost in tears." When we were in college in the 60's, most of my college cronies and I played the guitar and sang -- we were all broke; all made our OWN entertainment, and it was like living in a musical. If even two of us were together, we were singing about SOMETHING. PP&M, along with The Kingston Trio, gave us a huge portion of our "repertoire." This uploader has a HUGE portion of my gratitude.
I also listened to and still listen to the Kingston Trio and of course PP&M. I am glad that this video has brought back good memories for you. I miss those days.
@mikeilike1969 Yes, Mike. I was taken by this song the first time I heard P P & M
perform it. I have heard other renditions, but this one never ceases to move me to tears. So much soul and what a message about the Divine who meets us where we thirst.

@KaisaLisa I suppose he's like Puff,to some. I don't much (any) stock in religion, but Christianity has had some nice music.
