  • the bands were sooo different compared to 69 the heat and heavy metal bands is what did it oh yeah and the idiot that gave everyone candles thats what fucked woodstock99

  • Who's the obnoxious whigger they keep showing in this vid ? ( I'm not so familiar with THIS particular period of music history, so do pardon me )

  • Comment removed

  • goddamn..... if i could go anywhere in time.....

  • I think actions show a person more than words.

  • I wish I was there :(

  • What happened to peace love and understanding.

  • and it wasn't even the fires and "riots" that scared me it was the police squad that came running in like psychos with batons and sheilds and helmets, thats when we got up and left cause they were looking like they were ready to beat people down!!! yes, some people looted and destroyed things but it wasn't nearly as bad as all the coverage makes it out to be. I think the heat, lack of water and unsanitary conditions were FAR worse than any "rioting".

  • Not to mention the garbage was never collected so there was rotting garbage and garbage bags everywhere..people actually made a huge peace sign out of hundreds of garbage bags,it smelled so bad. But coming from someone who witnessed these fires first hand, i don't feel at all that they were about hatred. People were dancing naked around them, jumping through them, drinking and partying around them, just having a good time....

  • I was there, maybe the "waves of hatred" were due to the fact that it was over 100 degrees and the price for a bottle of water was between $4 and $8, the food was ridculously priced too so everyone was out of money by the 2nd day. There was absolutely no shade, people were just baking in the sun and the medic tents were full of dehydrated and heat stroked people. The port-a-potties were never emptied or cleaned, there was literally shit on the ceilings!!...

  • music these days is fill ed with violence, womanizing, fights, and pure hatred who the hell wants to listen to such shit that gets us in trouble with the law think about it hollywood sure knows how to make the devil rise cause riots and fires insted of putting love and peace into a historic woodstock the way it was meant to be

  • Man.... I thought my brother was having a fucking heat stroke, so I had to pay $20 for a bag of ice.... I was young & come to find out my older bro was just shit faced drunk.... He NEVER repaid me my $20 + cost for babysitting him... I'm glad we left at the end of day two. I WAS SICK OF IT ALL!

  • people need to stop blaming limp bizkit and making it look like it was there fault. it wasn't. it was the people who didn't care for the multitudes. in the first woodstock they gave everyone free food. now they pay 4 bucks for water when they are already dehydrated.

  • At least from a distance, a mixture of unrelated events helped to create woodstock '99 a disaster IMO. 1st, is obviously the overpriced food and water. 2nd, the management; they were overrun by the unforeseen chaos that was about to ensue. and 3rd and most importantly, a generation full of confused, angry, and over-stressed people who wanted to break shit because they no longer knew what to believe in any more.

  • The first woodstock was put on by a bunch of capitalists out for cash too. They were just more subtle and cleaver about it and the hippies were too high to notice. Unlike the gen xers of 99 who called them out on their shit. Don't idealize the 60's.

  • idiots ruin everything...Cant even have a musical festival cause assholes like fred durst tell u to break stuff..AND U DO, U IDIOTS...Fred Durst is an isiot wanna be

  • HA!!! PEACE!!!! Stupid PEACE!!!! Get to the burning and raping. Right?

  • oxegen '11 in Ireland was similar, lot of rapes, assaults and stabbings, two died after overdosing there, tents set alight with people in 'em.

  • damn, they are bitchie about paying for a concert back then, look at todays concerts where 6 buck cant buy you anything

  • It's easy to make '69 look better if you just show hippies dancing... but you didn't show the countless acid casualties and heroin OD's that came from that movement...

  • lol sitting around and getting high all day, listening to music.. what a "movement"

  • Woodstock 94 went well even with mudslides expensive water, and full toilets, Burning man goes off every year with less violence, hotter and more extreme whether conditions, I didn't go to Woodstock 99 and i'm glad, wasn't the original promotors from 69 & 94, and didn't have the magic that the unannounced nightly Ravestock that occurred in 94 with acts like Richard James aka Aphex Twin, The Orb, Dee Lite, DJ Spooky, Frankie Bones and others played at.

  • I sense sarcasm...her der

  • I too was there and was a Peace patrol. They where about to cancel woodstock because the promoters could not get security together so they went around NYC and hired all kids to do Peace Patrol. The entire even was a scam and A LOT of people made a fortune from this garbage. 99 had nothing to do with prior Wood stocks and it was all indeed about the money. Thats why what happened, happened. I still had the best time of my life there. Oh and i got paid 600 buks for 3 days security.

  • This is fucking disgusting . what a disappointment this generation has turned out to be .

  • Creed tore that place up. They were going fucking crazy!

  • Kids responding to a bunch of greedy assholes trying to get rich.

  • The fires and riots were definitely the result of frustration, over shitty conditions and corporate greed.. Kurt Loder felt waves of hatred, because MTV's booth was getting pelted with rocks and water bottles.. Carson daily got mud flung at him. "tearing down the peace wall" it was a plywood wall, to keep people who didnt pay, out.. Security had abandoned their posts by the start of the 2nd day, and admittance was basically free. I had a blast, aside from getting roughed up in a pit.

  • @spacemunky1117 44 arrests, 8 murders, and millions of dollars in damage? wat a way to end the millenium.

  • I must agree with the above comments. I was there. People would not of reacted the way they did if the festival wasn't put together soley for coperate greed. Unfortuneately our generation is labled as full of hate. For the most part, all the people I came across were loving, kind people who just couldn't take anymore of the $4 bottles of water, no place clean to use the bathroom and 105 degree heat with no shade.

  • @TheJake2501 A THOUSAND % RIGHT ONNNN...I CAN DEF TELL U WERTE THERE...U KNOW EXACTLY HOW IT WAS N TOOK DA WORDS RYT OUT OF MY MOUTH...THANK U

  • 1:12 what else would the fire department come with?

  • Hell, if it werent for Hendrix and Santana I would choose the 99 one in a heartbeat. Back off with that hippie shit.

  • However, with the surge of indie music these days, the hippie movement is coming back....the music industry is whining that people arent buying music anymore, just ripping it off the net......well think about it music industry...if you actually started churning out amazing music once again, with a strong message of love, happiness, and togetherness...instead of popping out wack dance-pop-everything-sounding-like-katy-perry, or tracks made out of msn acronyms......people WILL buy music once again

  • @mixedbreed19 No, people would just keep downloading, only fags buy shit

  • @TheHoneylocust "only fags buy shit" What are you, 11?

  • @mixedbreed19 Indie music is terrible though. It's just people trying to be soppy, romantic and different. It's all the same rehash false sound. If anything it makes me want to buy music less (though I agree about Katy Perry)

  • @mixedbreed19 People illegally downloading music has nothing to do with quality. Your long and misguided message makes the assumption that music piracy is only committed against new pop singles. How old are you? Were you like 7 years old when Napster got sued by you-know-who?

  • Not to mention, u never heard fucking dumbass 'talent' such as Limp Bizkit(explains alot) coercing the crowds to go 'fucking crazy and break shit'...or asking if the 'motherfucking mic' is on.....trust me people, the only way we could ever have something like this again, is if we're renew our values and stray away from obsceneties and superficiality.......that alone can place a significant impact on the music we chose to create and listen to...........pretending never achieves anything...

  • Woodstock 99 was just a flat out fail, and of course it wouldnt have worked.....the original woodstock worked, because it was already in the period of renewed enlightenment, helping out your fellow man, and spreading the love......it was described as a completely violence-free event consisting of about half a million people! thats nuts!....then 99 kicked in and people just tried to make it like some incredible continuation of that wonderful event in the summer of love...again, fail!!

  • I was at Woodstock 99, and I disagree with everyone concentrating on the leftover losers who stayed late to set the booths (and everything else they could get their hands on) on fire. I happened to see the good side of this Woodstock when I was there - the people who were helpful and generous, the people who were friendly and there to ENJOY one of the most awesome concert lineups ever. Maybe if the event administrators had planned and administered better, things would have gone more smoothly.

  • 94 was awesome, but 99 was just bullshit.

  • they burnt the peace wall?! how peacefull

  • Woodstock '99 was just plain creepy...seeing the behavior there made me question my own beliefs about things.

  • Fitting end to the hate-music decade.

  • @Jhensy2012 dude hate music never ends

  • BTW Woodstock 69 and 94 had alot of the same problems. There wasnt violence but if you think the living conditions were any better than you and the maker of this shit video are fucking stupid. 99 gets all the bad rap because of the riot but they ALL had logistical problems involving shitters and expensive food. Well actually in 69 they ran out of food if im not mistaken so yea shut the fuck up already with the woodstock 99 hating.

  • Great video

  • So, basically, it was Limp fucking Bizkit's fault. Ass-bags.

  • @bigmuffexpress

having actually been there and not just made a half assed 2 minute movie about it. Its not fair 11 years later or the day after the thing to blame Limp Bizkit for what happened. Especially since they played SATURDAY and the "riot" was on Sunday.

Also FUCK KURT LODER. If not for sucking cock at MTV to be THE news guy he'd still be just a hack writer.

  • @bigmuffexpress how so yuo dumb ass

  • @PhatyBongRipz

I didn't see any other band literally asking for the audience to "release the negative energy" and "put it the fuck out".

I also didn't see any other band whose singer surfed and jumped up and down on chunks of plywood with possibly injured audience members underneath.

  • even though there was violence and rape, you gotta remember the great bands that played there.

  • yeah, they were charging us 4 bucks for a 16oz bottle of water and 8 bucks for a cheeseburger. I remember getting excited to take the bus to a Walmart to pick up some supplies. I still had a good time though.

  • Thats what happens when u make lsd and pot illegal. The mainstream has been changed by the man. Legalize lsd and pot...take the crazy stuff they allow and make it illegal..the reason it was different is cuz psychadelics open our minds and let us know things and they connect us, bring us together...alot of things..i hate what this country has become.

  • @BuddyLouia I think there just dumb shits for acting like that. I smoke pot, and ive never done anything bad. So you cant really blame everyone. It was just that sum of idiots that decide to burn everything down. Yeah.. Thats ganna help legalize it.

  • what the fuck? tore down the peace wall

  • I live a mile away from where this was held. HELL. ON. EARTH. Just to let you all know, Rome is not really this dirty. It was held next to one of the largest runways on the planet, and you can still see some of the rubble there to this day. So in a sense it will never completely be cleaned up...

  • i hate it when there is always limp bizkit blamed for the incidents of woodstock 99!

  • Oh, silly Fred Durst. No one over the age of 13 wants to hear you.

  • what is the intro song?

  • @0341593 Goin' to the country - Canned Heat

  • what kind of dumb organizer promotes a "commercial" woodstock. what, a celebration of capitalist hippie culture?

  • The best acts were Offspring and Bizkit. Fuck the others.

  • damn i miss the days of woodstock 99!!! i mean now we just have miley cyrus and emo bands! then, the music industry was actually dangerous

  • @0Mike0Banks0 you are foolish ..music today triumphs... the 90s were like a bunch of faggy angry teenagers..sorry at least now we have art again..look at bands like Tv On the Radio, My morning Jacket, LCD Soundsystem, countless others..the miley cyrus' and lady gagas of the world suck, but thats the world we live in today..more people choose shitty commercial music because it is marketed towards their peanut brains..but if you want to find good music..we are surrounded by it

  • bands like the foo fighters, john mayer, the killers, the vines, the white stripes, the dave matthews band, rilo kiley and so many others are saving rock n' roll. it sucks they're not being listened to by the majority but what we do personally can thankfully be different. it'd be nice if everyone listened to the same stuff but even that would get boring after a while.

  • oxegen is the best fest in europe.fact.i blame fred durst for pl;ayin break stuff.lol

  • Yea that attitude almost cost them their civilization. Your welcome !! Haha

  • By the was nice video..!! Loved it..!! Very well done..!! =)

  • Woodstock 69 was way better than 99 man..!! I wish i was born long back to see woodstock 69..!! Hippies fuckin rule..!! Smoke pot, mellow out on soothing psychedellic music and just be peaceful..!! These days its all shit..!!

  • Was Fifteen in '99 would have liked to have been there for myself.

Even though it looked like Carnage.

  • woodstock 1999

  • The cataclysm of Woodstock 99 was a small representation of where Corporate America was about to head. It was almost like an omen. A little wave of total chaos peaked and crested that hot summer night in 1999. Just a few short years later the world would get engulfed in a much larger and far more sinister chaos. Now we live in a society paralyzed by fear and desperate paranoia. Woodstock 99 might well have been the last rebel yell of a dying tribe of free-spirited and disenchanted youth.

  • Woodstock 1969 vs Woodstock 1999 -oxymoran/nihgt and day/ love vs. hat peace vs anger. the 90's had a lot of f.. you attitude. 70's was great hard rock, 80-'s was OK, but metal got totally played, then 90's grundge crap, heroin, disgust, dpepression, then... hey man f... you, screw you, what's next?

  • what band is the guy with the hat part of

  • Fuck all you haters!!!!!! If there was another Woodstock, I would be there in a heartbeat! It was the best time I ever had, and I hold it dear to my heart! Watch the crowd go nuts in the video of Korn (Blind), thats my in the front smashed to the wall.

  • Bad vibes were going out everywhere in 1999. The frat boys went wild at ''woodstock''. But how else could the 90s have ended? I almost miss it. Everyone is afraid of everything now and have widde indie zombie eyes.

  • woodstock 1999 was just the exemplary of teenage Angst. C'mon. Limp bizkit, KoRn, fucking Kid rock? what the fuck is that shit? next to that, it completely commercialized woodstock. and lost the essence of what woodstock stood for. oh yeah and paying 12 DOLLARS for not even a complete pizza. what the fuck...

  • any huge concert you go to wacken, or even just another outdoor concert the waters always going to be expensive but i dont give a fuck. i wish there was another woodstock, id be there in an instant and i bet every hater out there would go, but then again picture the bandfs... nickelback... green day (yeaaaaay) lady gaga/??? fuck thats all i got on bands now a days,.,.. lol not worth my time.

  • It was like 100F and all they (Rome, Ny) were about was capitalizing on peoples basic human needs - food, water etc. People were pissed!

  • Fuck You haters! At the first sign of trouble every vendor locked up shop and ran away. This left tens of thousands of thirsty people who were out in the hot sun on their feet all day NOTHING TO DRINK! The guy hammering the phone booth was trying to find enough money to get a bus ticket home because WOODSTOCK ROBBED HIM BLIND! If you treat people like a herd of cattle and dont provide affordable ammenities, proper places to wash and use the bathroom then charmas a bitch.

  • try to compare different people from different generation, 69 and 99 big fucking difference... 69 was a cause a movement, 99 was just shit flushed down the drain...

  • 69 was a cause movement my ass. Just a bunch of lazy stoner hippies saying "flower power" and " peace man" Just cause it was cool to get on stage and say "stop the war " and "dont trust the establishment" doesnt mean it accomplished a damn thing! Just a concert. If the people in 69 got screwed like the kids in 99 they probably would have done the same thing.

  • No, no they wouldn't have you dunce. Concert profiteering is nothing new, but rarely does it catalyze a frenzy of rape, vandalism, assault, and everything else that happens during a fre for all of knuckle dragging numetal fans.

  • " TRON" There was no frenzy of rape or assault. Fire and destruction, yes. Your right though, the people in 69 would'nt have started those fires or became violent. They were SOOOO much more civil then. BULLSHIT they saved all there burning and violence to stop Black people from going to school. Get off your high horse. The kids of 99 are so much more tolerant and aware of the planet and each other than 69 could ever dream. It was the organizers(69ers) that made it a corporate gangrapeDUNCE

  • lol. I live in Rome and I WENT TO NIAGRA FALLS FOR THAT lol.. I lived RIGHT by it at the time and I was like NO THANKS! lol

  • burn baby burn....rape rape and more rape that was Woodstock 99

  • "waves of hatred" gtfoh....i dont support the rapes and unnesecary destruction that went on, but straight up woodstock 99 was 100% rock n roll...

  • Woodstock showed us..There IS NO HOPE in America anymore. And this was 11 years ago, when people who are my age (20's) know this era as "the good old days"...Thats fucking sad.

  • this event showed us where we are as a society today, in the shitter.

  • Thats very true, it has alot I would say to do with the problems we face socially, in families, upbringing, and morality. Honestly there will most likely never been another woodstock. I would say that peace in the 60's which was a protest to the war, worked till addictions took over, and vietnam vets came back. Wars demoralize society's, to this day vietnam vets have severe issues with addiction, anger, etc. These people coped using alcohol somethings used heavily by their parents in the 50's.

  • well the rhcp set was when the fires happened.... not limp's set ....typical limp bizkit/fred durst hate video same old shit

  • Euopean Festivals = Superior. Everyone is relaxed and friendly, a rape is UNIMAGINABLE. Even at the metal festivals everyone is super chilled and relaxed.

  • @Bestykid1 until the bands play then it goes fuckin SICK and on the last night there are always riots haha

  • @Bestykid1 it was the 90's man. shit got crazy.

  • @Bestykid1

    Europeans have no balls

  • @Bestykid1 Thank God I live in Europe! Pinkpop, Lowlands, Rock Am Ring, Sziget, Waldrock... all cool, no problems at all!

  • @Bestykid1

Metal crow in europe is the coolest one ! :)

  • @Bestykid1 That doesn't mean they are superior though.

  • @Bestykid1 Thats just the ignorance talking. Dont mind him. We all know this is sadly not the case my superior-euro friend.

  • @Bestykid1 i bet water was cheap and there were plenty of toilets too

  • @Bestykid1 Thats why Europe FUCKING SUCKS.

  • @Explurity we have sonisphere, download, reload, rockam ring.... what have American?

  • @ElteShow mayhem fest!

  • @ElteShow and the best metal bands come from here.

  • @45thundertrain right like norwegian BLack metal!

  • @ElteShow no metallica pantera slayer megadeth korn

  • I was there..It was hot as hell and it was 14 bucks for a 8 inch microwave pizza and a bottle of water...fuckin assholes!!!!...great video

  • i was at woodstock 99 i dont agree with the fires the rapes but you gotta understand it was 6 bucks for water and it was 105 everyday.the toilets were overflowed...people got pissed off.....i dontthink it had anything to do with the muic it was about the way the promoters set it up it wasnt about the music or the people love or anything like that it was about couprate greed and the money...

  • well thats whats wrong with music today you have people like beyonce and lady gaga and fuckin kayne west all about the money and who can look the slutiest

  • @whimmyt exactly it was supposed to be independent but wants the corparation got in it was dead

  • @whimmyt I was there too, it was all about the setup, water pipes above the ground that broke, flat bed trucks getting stuck in the mud, never empying the shitters. There was no hatred, just frustration.

  • @whimmyt i dont agree with rape ever.. but the fire and the actions of the mob was the last expreesion of freedom ive seen in this country. today, we just bend over, take it, and ask for more. woodstock was held to rip people off.. services paid for werent provided. all americans should react so passionatly toward injustice

  • @whimmyt $6 for water? WTF!!!!!??

  • i wasn't there but it seems that it was the wrong kind of music for Woodstock, drawing the wrong crowd for a peace and love festival. Woodstock wasn't a mosh pit, fuck the world thing. It was more chill than the energy that the 99 music manifested. 69 Woodstock is more equivalent to Reggae Rising in Humboldt. Try again.

  • woodstock 1999 was an insult to woodstock 1969

  • and you compare it to a concentration camp!!!! HOW DARE YOU. You have no fucking right. I wish I knew you. I'd tell you right to your face, PUNK........

  • who ever posted this video is a complete dick. You don't think bad shit happened in 1969? You are a jerk off that looks at the negative n every situation. Way to be idiot...........FU

  • what bad shit happened in woodstock 1969.

  • The bad shit that happened in 99 was way worse than the shit in 69.

  • ninameturds...in context. When you consider how poorly organised festivals were in the 60s, the problems were minimal. Its been overly romanticised over the years, but it was nowhere near as bad as '99, when the organisation of the event should have moved on dramatically. And yet it didn't.

For the record, I wouldn't like to pay $6 for a bottle of water either...but I'd rather do that than burn the concession stand down because I didn't like the fact that I had to pay $6.

  • durst looks like an idiot i love it!

  • Like Fred Durst told the crowd : "I don't think you should mellow out. This is 1999, motherfuckers - stick those Birkenstocks up your ass!"

    LOL

  • There was supposed to be another woodstock this year but nobody wants to host it because of what happend last time... If they do have another one I hope they chill the music a little I hate mosh pits plus isnt woodstock supposed to be about PEACE?

  • greedy promoters to blame. the kids got pissed off being ripped off..........$5 for a bottle of water?!

  • woodstock 99 was a giant rape fest

  • 2009 owned 94 n 69

  • just think people our parents showed us the way back in 69 but our generation was so f*ckin crazy we not only did it once we did it twice in 1 decade i love generation X

  • I believe i paid 9.00 for two bottles of coke.

Bootleggers were selling 3 beers for 10 dollars there hum

  • the first one was wayyyyyyy better this sucked

  • ahhhhhh all in my home county. it was one hell of a time i was only 12 but still awesome

  • haha nicely done, it makes me laugh that the girls that were probably raped were the ones flashing their boobs during every setlist!! they had it cuming

  • time goes by so fast. I can't believe its been 10 years already. Music was so great back then.

  • Its shit now.

  • yeah man definitely

  • KoRn = best band ever, by the way.

  • WHat about Woodstock 94?

  • Of course you could get free water - from those pods that spat out piss warm water that only got hotter as the day went on. If you wanted ice, that was $15.

  • I had a blast at Woodstock '99. The $4 water was bullshit though and that was one reason things went to hell.

  • Obviously nobody read the info about going to this concert. It specifically stated that you could bring in empty water bottles and have free water. That's what I did and I never paid for a water all weekend.

  • 104 degree heat, $4 Waters, limited bathrooms and trash cans, people were pissed. I was there, it was amazing until that sunday night. I was 13 years old. First concert ever.

  • whats the name of the song during the first segment of the video?
