  • This was such a good show! finally seeing them plaay drama material was incredible.

  • Is that Oliver Wakeman on keyboards?

  • Drama: One of THE best and most overlooked albums of all time.

Ok, it got panned by critics but it's still on my main playlist 31 years later.

    You can't argue with a White/Howe/Squire backbone.

  • It's about time Yes played some songs from Drama. I love this song and I swear that someday I will play a true heavy metal version of this song. It's been in my head for years.

  • @TheWolfe666 Shit. Looks like Dream Theater already covered this song. Petrucci stole my idea! Just have to do it heavier.

  • SEMI-YES playing ...correct the title...jon wants to come back and they keep the boat seller there to play the drama album,ahahahah,silly...

    fuck that,yes,wake up

  • DRAMA is one of my all-time favorite albums!! Alan White rips on this album. What a tight trio Squire, White, & Howe were. AND I like Downes and Horn, bravo to them.

  • brilliant job equalling both Jons session he recorded with Yes during The Drama Sessions as well as Trevor Horns

  • hasta el 1.24 minutos el tema es CRIMINAL luego es solo HORRIBLE. Me contenta saber que siempre pense que "esto" no era YES.

  • I was here, great night

  • Oliver Wakeman does not actually sound like being able to "replace" Rick. But maybe, with some more practice ...

  • After 1978, YES started to do songs that were never longer than 10 minutes, so the vids would fit on YouTube. BRILLIANT.

  • @JackBlair2 They came back with great longtracks after "Talk".

  • @TuxmanXP There was a long track on "Talk" and it was a quarter of an hour long. open your eyes and the ladder are probably their worst.

  • @mikapromotesobesity I said GREAT longtracks, not only LONG longtracks. ;-)

  • @TuxmanXP So you don't like 90125 to talk because trevor rabin was south african?

  • @mikapromotesobesity I don't like these albums because I am a progressive rock fan and not into ArtPop or whatever it is called. I don't care about the ethnics of people who make music I dislike.

  • @TuxmanXP The Yes albums with Rabin are progressive rock.

  • @mikapromotesobesity Are they? Compared to what? "Progressive rock" means "progressive" rock, not "stuff you can hear on the radio all day". Rabin has always been an AOR musician. No Howe, no Wakeman = no progressive rock. (That said, Howe himself regrets most of the aforementioned albums.)

  • @TuxmanXP I don't hear Yes music played at all on the radio. So if howe or wakeman isn't on an album, that means it isn't progressive? That seems like a dumb thing to say..

  • @mikapromotesobesity "Owner Of A Lonely Heart"? "Don't Go"? No?

Howe and Wakeman are the two members who mainly influenced the 70s Yes sound. (Even "Relayer", without Wakeman, sounds rather rough.) It is not about the persons, it is about their style.

  • @TuxmanXP owner of a lonely heart is a song, not an album. You have stated that only howe and wakeman are prog, then you say that it isn't about the people. That is contradictory. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

  • @mikapromotesobesity I said both of them have an unique playing style. You HEAR the differences between them and their replacements on any album they have not played on.

  • @mikapromotesobesity I like almost all the albums by progressive Yes with the exception of Tormato. Pretty weak. I like quite a few of the Rabin era albums: 90125, parts of Big Generator and Talk were very strong. Union stinks. I even like The Ladder and Magnification. Good music is good music regardless of genre. I think a stupider thing to say is "This is not prog therefore I hate it." Not that you were at all. Just figured I'd put my two cents into this very old conversation.

  • @mikapromotesobesity the only progressive work from Rabin was Endless Dream and nothing more but if you think that owner of a lonely heart or rhythm of love or leave it are progressive rock then i don't know what is South Side of Sky, Siberian Khatru or the power full Close to the Edge or the entire album Tales from Tophoghraphic Ocean are?

  • The Drama album (1980) was the most hard rockin' one Yes ever did..too bad Jon Anderson didn't want to perform anything from it as he never saw it as a "real" Yes album. Now they can with Beniot David!!

  • @yyzllp It's the drama tour all over again ,with out Jon and Rick and it's still YES!!! I'm glad to see the YES legion going ahead even with all the drama who's in; who out; WHO CARES AS LONG as we have YES!!!!!!!!!

  • What a thrill it must have been to hear this rare gem at full concert volume!

  • I have to say, the acoustic interlude in this song is one of the best moments of prog I have ever heard.

Until then, none of the vocals really spoke to me. They didn't stand out as much, imo.

I love this song overall, but that is infinitely the best part.

  • I remember Jon Anderson once saying that he hoped that Yes music would continue in the same way as an orchestra does, with new memebers coming in to continue the tradition. Beniot David is doing just that. I love Jon as much as any fan but I'd rather hear more Yes with a different front man than no Yes at all. And lets face it the guy is doing a really good job and has a great voice.

  • Lol, I MUST HAVE THEIR DISCOGRAPHY NAO! (I feel bad for pirating their music but I'm gonna buy it when I have the cash :P)

  • @Deathz0r94 Don't buy anything between "90125" and "Talk", including these two. Rubbish.

  • This is a dream come true. Seeing a Yes lineup doing songs from Drama. I absolutely LOVE Machine Messiah. Listening to this song, recorded in 1980 predates the Fates Warnings, Dream Theaters, and other progrockers/metal. Very cool!

  • GREAT JOB! I'm surprised at the high audio quality. Honestly, I even thought it was Jon Anderson singing for a bit (hangs head in shame).

    - Anything live from Drama is always a treat to see/hear. The Drama tour was the only time I've ever seen them live- Madison Square Garden, 'In the Round' as they called it. It was my 3rd concert (Kiss and Styx 1@2. They were great. You must've had a great Night.

    Thanks a million for posting!

    Cheers from neighboring NNJ

  • Missed last tour due to illness but weren't upset due to ~Yes being a 'tribute band' as they have become. Having seen this, now I'm not so sure, this is an AWESOME song.

  • I missed the latest tour due to ilness, but felt I'd misse dnothing due to the 'tribute band' they have become. I had no prob's with Trevor when he was with them for Drama but can't really 'get' Benoit, but after seeing this, I'm not so sure because this is one AWESOME song and never thought Steve would play it again.

  • Love the "Drama" material. Don't mind the new guy on vocals, but Chris Squire should clip him round the ear if he starts slow-pelvic-thrusting onstage again :D

  • all of us standing in line. All of us waiting for time. To feel it all the way, And to be there when they say they know that..maybe we'll change, offered the chance.

  • I really like to see Jon back in the band but I know he won't do the Drama material. How about a live record from this version of the band? Drama is an excellent album!

  • Just a heads up for everyone in the West Virginia/Pennsylvania area. Yes will be coming to Washington PA to the Meadows Racetrack and Casino on June 20th.

  • Wow - never seen them do this live before - Drama was a great album

  • thanks for the post there still playin great for there age in my opinion cant wait to see them

  • Thanks for this. Saw them twice in NYC in February; this song was the highlight of both evenings.

  • Sin Jon Anderson en la formación ya no es Taboo tocar canciones del albun DRAMA

  • Topographer...you're right...I'd been consuming mass quantities of scotch...But Trevor Horn has sung lead on a number of songs

  • @rvail136 Only on the Drama album.

  • @thor19b Dude. Drama rules. Get off the pipe.

  • @rubicon1983 what the hell you talking about?

People like you are so dumb. I never said anything negative about drama.

  • I saw them at Edinburgh. I like to think of it as what would have happened if Jon had actually decided to sing this. They sound so alike!

  • No Jon = No Yes

  • There have been more than a dozen members of the band...and three lead vocalists...you obviously know nothing of either the band or it's history.

    Jon Anderson

    Trevor Howe

    Trevor Rabin

    Benoit David

are all obscenely good vocalists...who incidently have sung lead for a band called

    Yes.

  • Trevor Howe??

    Maybe Trevor Horn!

Trevor Rabin was a good singer, but never the lead singer in Yes. Jon was always there when Rabin was in the band.

Benoit has not been on a studio album yet, so far only a stand in for Jon live.

  • @budds2112 Horseshit, he's the least important member and his lyrics are pretty shitty most of the times

  • @Amebixfan You are so wrong on that buddy. Jon is a founding member, and he wrote most of the material with the band. He was the driving force of the band. And he wrote the lyrics that would flow with the music the best. He used the lyrics as an instrument with his voice. He was the most important member of the band.

  • @thor19b Chris Squire shits on you, Drama is a fucking GREAT album, you're a blind fanboy if you think it sucks because Anderson doesn't perform on it

  • @Amebixfan wtf? I never said anything about Drama or saying it sucked. What the hell are you smoking dummy! I love the album! I was refering to the Drama album that Trevor Horn sings on you idiot! The only album he sang on.It was directed at rvail136.

  • I was telling that person that Trevor Horn only sang lead on the Drama album. And you are an idiot to think Anderson is not an important member,he made the band for what it is!

  • Y E S ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • I was there!

  • seeing yes live feb. 9! can't wait!

  • Do you realize how old these guys are?

I'd feel lucky if I could hold a guitar at this age...much less perform.

Whether you like 'em or not, you gotta respect them.

    Awesome players

  • but for all that a great song

  • Mr Vocaliste sounds like Mickey Mouse - Jon never sounded like Mickey -

  • Thanks for the post, but they won´t come to Spain :(

  • :( That's too bad, but maybe you can come to Pittsburgh to hang out and see it when they come around again? It's a long trip for an awesome show! ;)

  • Awesome post. Huge fan of this song. It's unbelievable to hear and see a live video version after years of waiting.

  • Awesome quality, thanks for the upload. This is my favorite Yes song.

  • I want them to tour again and dig even deeper into the catalog. More Relayer, Some Ancient Giants, odd stuff like "A Venture".....Once a peaceful man....

  • WOW! YES rules and your Camera OWNZ!

    wicked nice footage.

  • Well performed! It's great to see Steve, Chris and Alan together, although we miss Jon and Rick, but playing Drama live is quite an experience to watch, and Benoit definetly does a very good job singing and performing this masterpiece, I heard a long time ago that Jon didn't want to play Drama at all, perhaps because that was the age where some ruptures and dissagreements ocurred ...

  • one of Yes's best songs i had to wait 30 years to see it live...without Jon...

  • I have always enjoyed this song ---- i love the way its arranged...

  • good video i can play this song on guitar. i am not tht good at it though

  • saw them on the 29th, great show benoit sung great and asia was good with downes and palmer

  • Thanks for posting. It was a great show.

  • The quality of this video is SO impressive. What brand camera did you use?

  • We used two cameras when recording this. They were both Sony Cybershot cameras. Mine (the one used in this video) is a W290, and my ladyfriend's (used in Video Killed The Radio Star) was a T90. They're both 12 megapixel cameras that can take 720 HD footage. We both love our cameras!

  • Thanks for posting this, I was at this show too...It was a great show.

  • this is still blowing my mind

  • I'm so happy you got this on video! It was a great show :) So awesome they did some Drama tunes for a change :)

  • fuck yea i was at this show it was sooo good
