P.S to all ppl who think this is Tool-Assisted, check out TAS videos. They're way faster and more astonishing than this, here you can actually see minor flaws, such as slightly missed jumps, dust frames etc. which PROVES that Myles did this on a console. TASers pretty much figure the game out to a science, meaning exactly how to do everything with as little frames as possible, the slight errors show that Myles did this on a console, thus making him a god.

@AnavrinSM64 u can crop videos just like pictures. i just dont think its humanly possible to do this flawlessly first time.. 17 mins is a long time to not make a mistake, and we all know the N64 controller isnt the most reliable for this kinda thing.. proove its on a real N64 then im happy. its still nice tho, i would never of thought of most of theese ways to do the level

In Super Mario 64, when you climb to the top of most poles, a 1-up mushroom will appear, It will float towards you then follow until it reaches you, giving you the extra life.

When ShadowOfMyles climbs to the top of the pole at 6:05 in this vid, you hear the sprinkling sound that tells you the 1-up's about to appear. But Myles is moving so fast the 1-up NEVER catches him, even when he has to wait for a lift to carry him up later in the vid!

It's almost impossible to lose those pole 1-ups!

You can make the 3rd jump of the triple jump on any steep slope. If you press A+B at the third jump, Mario will do what you see in the video.

@ anybody who wonders: he doesn't take the star from the rabit because he doesn't need it. He needs the 15 stars to get the rabit there, and then he need the one star from the level behind Bowser's 2nd world to be able to enter Bowser's 2nd world. Taking that star would be a waste of time ;). That's why the 15 stars, as he can't get through the door to the above floor, as far as I know. (correct me if I'm wrong)

Okay, you have a point. What I should've said was that making a TAS and performing a speedrun requires two different kinds of skill. TASing just removes the element of reflex, but all other elements such as route planning, hex editing, etc., hence what I meant by 'movie making'.

And, you're absolutely right. I have very little experience with TASing. I made a couple of really crappy ones, just with slow-down and savestates. No extra tools... I don't know the first thing about them =|
