Dumb title if you ask me, at least break it down by what types of metal, you have different styles represented here, almost like compairing apples and oranges. A tech Death Metal riff is much different the a Deth Core riff, or Heavy Metal riff, I love all types of metal, particularly death metal, but these are far from the best riffs out there. Good bands, but they all have better riffs then what you put on here, next time put some thought into it instead of just posting random shit

awesome meshuggah riff, its obviously not the heaviest riff ever but its got to be the most intense groove ive ever heard, that entire section of electric red always blows me away, the mixture of notes and rhythms is absolutely perfect. could have picked a waaay better metallica song, im sure thats been said a lot. and u probably could have picked a better one for pantera but i donno its still a really good choice

IMO most of them sound the same. I like them a lot, but much of it is B (or drop A) string sludge, which gets boring.

And Holier than Thou is a perfect example of the mediocrity of Black Album...boring E minor & blues riffs with sloppy wah pedal wanking for a solo. The singing and harmonic guitar solo are good though.
