great walkthrough so far! heard about this game over the years but never tryed it until recently> the walkthrough was very helpful as far finding my way arround the game up to this point> kinda like hanging out with my buddies at the arcade in the 80's only the games didn't look this good. You can actually get the morph ball without using the scan dash, and without space jumps. It just takes to be infront of the wall that is covering the morph ball, and wait until he attacks you. Quickly jump and just to fall on plated beetle's head, then once again jump back to fall on morph ball...gladly I remember this...:)

I think Metroid Prime is my favourite game ever. It's practically a work of art. It's atmospheric, has GREAT music, and it doesn't stick to a horrendous formula like a traditional First Person games. Why the Halo series was more popular I will never know, it's simply not as original.
