Got an unopened GTA 1 for PS1 for $6. It was worth it. Really jealous on the X-Eye find, it looks badass. The fighting pad is useful on games like Street Fighter.

From what I see on eBay here in USA that game system sold for forty bucks on eBay, and came with SIX games, everything in perfect condition. See Item number 290648683802 at eBay.

So I guess you got a good deal at 10 dollars, but it is only worth 40 on eBay. Sure, people are ASKING hundreds of dollars for some of these JVC systems, but it is what they are actually selling for that matters. And from what I find in "Completed listings" you are only gonna get about $40 for sure, if it sells at all.

The only problem is that you can spend a lot on gas money by continuously going to Goodwill if you don't live near it.

Eventually that gas money adds up to not being worth it.

Uh, the fact that the Sega CD didn't employ copy protection wasn't really a negative.

Even though you could make copies of Sega CD software that would work in a Sega CD system without any mods or tricks, CD burning in the early 1990s was non-existent in home computers while being VERY expensive in specialized computing applications.

It wasn't until the mid 1990s that home CD burning became practical for home use, albeit for the upper class, and essentially after the Sega CD ran its course.
