I live like a block away from here :D and me and my friends are renting put the place for my birthday. Oh joy lol. Even for the non believers, the scare itself is thrilling.
People will believe anything to get their name known. Ghosts are not real, spirits are not real, get real. We do not get reincarnated into an animal. If something truly would happen they would set up cameras everywhere and get pure raw evidence but no. Its all about the money. Don't waste your money to go here. All ghosthunters are on something. I laugh everytime.
Oh, yeah... aside from the lawrence county abstract records, I also have advertisements within a 1912 Mitchell highschool yearbook (and newspaper) for Dr. John A. Gibbons practice referencing the house at 714 W Warren street as his residence and office.
I'm the current owner and have lawrence county abstract records for this property dating 1836-1979; Dr. John A. Gibbons and Jessie Ruth Gibbons were owners 1899-1937, then sold to their adopted daughter, Helen Gibbons Kinder. Again sold to Orra and Mabel Hopper in 1937. And again in 1977 to Velma M. Toliver.
The last record I have is Aug 1979. I'll be sure to research Doc Johnson and Linda/George Fox, though.
revwheeler...would you mind telling me what year you set the house on fire?
I did some research at one time and am almost sure (not to dispute you) that a Dr. John Gibbon's did own the house/property in and around 1915..according to Lawrence co. census.
@stalkingdeath1 regardless of what revwheeler says, it doesn't change the fact that there is a lot of weird crap that occurs in this house; doors slamming when people walk into rooms, beds violently shaking (Oct 09, 2010), candles flying across the rooms, pillows yanked off beds (caught on video... it should be here on YouTube)
All his "evidence" for this house being haunted is utterly false and fictitious. Doc Johnson sold it to my grandmother who owned it for 22 years which is why I grew up there. Doc Johnson also had NO GIRL child in his family...EVER.
@Anyone who thinks I'm just getting attention...go to the library in Mitchell, look up the records for 714 West Warren Street (this house) and tell me if the owners are not 1. Dr. Johnson and 2. Linda/George Fox.
oh yea!!! i was there too over the summer. im originally from California and we were vacationing in mitchell indiana we went and said hi to him and he let us have a tour of the house. nice guy
I went through that house tonight, and let me tell you It was not scary. So its just a waste of money.

How come the testimonials and peoples' stories are only a couple years old. shouldn't there be decades of stories??

@MUDVAYNE007976 Such a shame you didn't have any experiences in this house. So many others do. Try again.

My cousin just went there last night for an investigation. She got a few EVPs, but I didn't get a chance to hear them.

I liked it there :)
It was very interesting getting a tour of the house. But I was also staying in Spring Mill, so it wasn't like I was in Mitchell a lot.
