inventive, but will it be the tallest again, we cant let asia show us up, not just our pride on the line our way of life showing through the giant construction
Construction has been on hold for the past few months. Virtually nothing has been done since early summer. Only the caison work, which Kelleher funded himself, is completed. The developer can't get a loan to continue construction, sales have stalled at 33%, the site has been vacated, most of the sales staff has been layed off, and Calatrava and other contractors have filed liens against the property. Odds of this being completed by 2012 are nil, odds of it ever being completed are infinitesimal.
@SecularTechnology Doesn't look good. Developers seldom come right out and hold a press conference to announce a project is dead. But Shelbourne is in big trouble. The multimillion dollar sales center was forfeited earlier in the year because they couldn't come up with $10 - $20,000 dollars to pay rent. Just prior, a "hail mary" pass to have union pension fund finance construction fell through. Anglo Irish Bank (financing the land deal) is bankrupt, its president imprisoned for fraud. It's dead.

I hope they dont make this building, like at least I wish it was not going to be made super tall. It kills the beautiful skyline we have already.
