All those who have bagged on metallica for any of there music cant be called a true fan. Throughout all of their albums they have been great. Even through all their hardships and struggles they still have managed to keep it together and fight through it. They're great because they didnt stick to norms but expanded their horizon and explored other types of music. Its easy to see why they are great when you look at metallica themselves and what their music actually meant to them not you all.

Alright lemme end all of this nonsense now. Cliff Burton was Metallica. He wrote everything but the lyrics pretty much on the first two albums. He got crushed when their bus flipped and Doris landed on him. After that, they got Newstead who could write music but fuckin blew on bass. He pretty much up and left after and justice for all and thats when metallica stopped being metallica. Since 1991 they've put out maybe 5 or 6 good songs some that are covers. This stuffs okay.. eh maybe.
