  • ...you're all idiots...just enjoy the song...not that hard...

  • @chitown1966 Bravo. Another string of insults. Does your daddy know you're playing with his computer? Don't skip school too often, you might learn a thing or two about manners. Have fun!

  • @spoonlamps you probably don't even know your daddy. SInce so many white liberal women are sluts and whores. hopefully she is dead now and you feel really bad about me saying this and you will jump off a roof.

  • @chitown1966 Oh my God, you sound like a 5 year old who's not allowed a cookie. Get a life. End of conversation. Goodbye.

  • @chitown1966 It's people like you who give Americans a bad name. Instead of ranting on YouTube like a delirious teenager, why don't YOU do something with your life? Sign up for the Army for instance and put your words into action. And if you'll excuse me now, I'll stop responding to your insults. Instead I'll be voting for Obama's HealthCare reform. Perhaps that will give you some hope of mental recovery. Bye, bye.

  • @chitown1966 clearly you have no clue what I just asked you. Although I do admire the way you constantly succeed in writing long sentences, riddled with swear words without making any sense. Bravo.

ps: no need to respond again. Have a great life.

  • @chitown1966 Do you believe all those voices in your head? Do you know who Ron Kovac is? I rest my case.

  • funny how fascists use the term "socialist" as an insult... you r one stupid fuk mr veteran shitown... go fight another stupid fukking war u moron. leave us with bruce in peace

  • Oh ah up da ra

  • @chitown1966 Per his admission, he did not dodge the draft; he failed the entrance physical exam for the Army to which his father, who had always wanted the Army to "make a man" of him, responded, "that's good." Dick Cheney, On the other hand, got 5 deferrals then started a war after failing to serve in the one of his generation. There are many ways of serving. One is by giving money to hospitals. The other is mobilizing opposition to the wars that fill those hospitals so needlessly.

  • @chitown1966

You might want to try googling Springsteen's charity record before attempting to talk trash about him.

  • @chitown1966 ; Let's spend trillions a year on war with countries Repulican war mongers like yourself can't even point out on a map. That's a briliiant idea. Fool.

  • @chitown1966 You know: if you do not know what the hell you're talking about, just shut up. Don't make a fool out of yourself. Springsteen donates millions a year to different causes, including melanoma research, food banks, Vietnam veterans and many other causes. He didn't "run like a bitch", he wasn't a draft dodger; they didn't take him. That's significantly different. Did you serve? Does the fact one doesn't appreciate America storming into other countries at will make him anti-American?

  • Bruce, you are the best! BOSS.

    You are my angel!

  • @chitown1966 You know i don't know if Bruce gives money to hospitals or really to anything.. i am not his accountant. I do remember him saying a story about his dad and him however after he cam back from his army physical, he told his dad that the army wouldn't accept him for medical reasons.. and his dad said thats good, ( not that he couldn't serve, but that he wasn't going off to war).. well the crowd cheered after he said he didn't get in.. he told them that it's nothing to cheer about.

  • Stupid niggers

  • wow! chitown is one of those really scary Americans who probably thinks he has got God on his side when all he really has on his side is insanity.

Great rendering by the Boss, strongly influenced by Dylan and in the same tradition of thoughtful song-writing.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!!! steveninthematrix..BRING EM HOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why did this get such a crappy response from the sitting ducks? Shame, since Springsteen's probably the best musician out now.

  • Sorry KleWdSide,I honestly don't think they are "sitting ducks"...I believe most of us are just getting sick and tired of a war that should have been done and over before we lost so many of our loved ones,my only son being one of those that never made it back man!!My heart goes out to all that have lost loved ones.Bruce he just be telling the TRUTH...

  • @78nitro: I was referring to the black people (P Diddy & a few others) who didn't bother clapping.

  • @KleWdSide...I got ya brother and your right(srry if i offended you at all truly!!)..Honestly I'm not sure why (P Diddy and a few others) took offense,I just hope that it is over soon.take care..

  • @steveninthematrix

and huh? and yet the death toll is still a lot smaller then the many millions of world war two. bad correlation. try to use Vietnam instead or world war two. sorry this just bothered me since neither war has anything in common.

  • that or should be an of in second to last sentence.

  • do you honestly believe u live in a democracy?Read,"Understanding Power" by Noam Chomsky.

  • ok, the question is how? we cant just pull out suddenly or the Iraqi country will just collapse into anarchy and plenty more civilians will die or some terrorists will take control of the abandoned country. im not arguing about the validity of the war im just saying it isnt as easy to call off our forces as you make it sound.

  • @Nostripe361: totally agree - and

@steveninthematrix: you should never collate world war II and any other war with each other - if you don't know why - ask the jews

by the way i love bruce springsteen and his music but he isn't a politician i think

(sry for bad english - i'm german ^^)

  • lol, looks like bob dylan

  • sounds 10 000 times better though =) Dyllan had heavy lyrics but he wasnt a great singer...... i like some of his work, but its just fact that singing was not his strongest side......

  • @U2rockzz Dylan is one of the greatest singers of all time, what a silly comment.

  • amazingly talented musician and i jus love his music. legend in my eyes <3

  • I wish more people would have said it...

  • Is he still saying "bring them home" with Obama in charge or was he just another hollywood liberal that was more anti Bush than anti war?

  • Hey brother,Bruce is not being political at all,Just more of his awesome talent,he just be telling the truth bout life in general and he nailed it perfect!!!AWESOME SONG MAN....

  • Got ta comment on this one again..yes he is saying "bring them home" and SteveCarleze, not dissing you at all man,if Bush would have brought them home.I would not have had to lay my onely son in the ground at the young age of 19:(

  • I'm with what Bruce is saying but a lot in the media are no longer against the war now that Obama is in charge. Its like the war protesters have just gone away or the media is no longer reporting on it because they don't want to make Obama look bad. So it just makes me wonder how many were really against the war and how many were just anti Bush. I know Cindy Sheehan is still protesting it but I never see the media reporting on it.

  • I agree with you a hundred percent brother and thank you!..Where did the protesters go?They seemed to fade away and that is sad to me,is it cause Obama said that he wants to have most of our troops home by 2010...The protesting did stop after Obama was elected, and i do believe most people were prolly anti Bush. Also on that note if Obama would have sent our troops to war i think most people would have been against him for that.(dunno)I know my son was very proud 2 protect us and stood by Bush

  • i love bruce and i'm italian, but i have to admit: when bush was there, bruce sang "bring 'em home". And now? Yesterday 6 italians died in afghanistan. I sing bring 'em home. And Bruce?

  • this guy is a livin legend! great musician.

  • So talented. wow.

  • Does anyone out there have tickets for his " Birthday Bash at BB's joint in NYC?

  • i 'm shallowed by this intelect,

it's all i am and far beyond what i will ever be

  • what an absolute legend

  • 5.05 is that Mariah Carey who stood up for Bruce Springsteen?

  • He turns his back and walks away! It's like turning his back to those who do not bring them home.

  • I think your talking out of your ass right now

  • You guys don't know who P. Diddy is, apparently.

  • 5:04 white suit, sunglasses. Stupid smug "is the camera pointed at me?" look on his face. Look closely before you make smug assumptions.

One of Springsteens best songs in my opinion.

  • yah exactly, look close before you make smug assumptions... its just not p.diddy haha it looks like jermaine dupree, who wouldnt even deserve to be in the venue in the first place tho, so maybe not ha

  • Shit i think your right ha.I should have looked closer ha.feel like a bit of a numpty now.

  • Comment removed

  • the boss gave a professorship to all those posers! yeah

  • BONO stood up for Bruce while diddy din't even clap wtf!

  • P Diddy wasn't even shown on this video. However this is one of the best grammy performences

  • I just took my cousin to go see bruce in KC and he loved it, but out of all the songs that got to him was this song. This is real music

  • P. Diddy is just another idiot who knows shit about music

  • Joe?..ha!

    This is the Boss man

  • Hah yeah no shit eh! Although I love Joe Satriani, even Joe would admit its always the Boss first!

  • the American BILLY BRAGG

  • Those rap idiots should show a real musician some respect

  • Shit, you can say that again.

  • p diddy just sits there and doesn't clap ... atleast show respect for another artist... jerk

i love bruce with all my heart

  • @TheGreatVY I bet bruce would have clapped for them. but then... he got class :)

  • @TheGreatVY

Technically I agree with you... But let´s face it: Someone like Bruce doesn´t need the respect of some drug dealers who beacame famous by being criminals in the 90s. In fact, he can be glad that nobody is gonna mention his name along with those clowns!

  • Great song

  • The last great protest song!!!!

  • Respect

  • doesn't get much better than this

  • Only a guitar, a harmonica and his voice. Just amazing...

  • global bad guy? i dont think fighting terrorists is exactly the same as killing jews, okay?

  • because you just fight terrorists to make the world a better place right? who do you think you're fooling we're not all as stupid as american people have proved to be.

  • what? what do you think we have a personal vendetta against iraq? i mean yeah, were there for the oil, bottom line. but should that be comparable to the holocost?!?

  • no. I think that you say we fight for our country but you just fight to make sure that in your own freaking country the rich will became richer and the young who has no money to pay for university or his/her family will go on dying or getting paralised for the rich. you are definitely misrespecting yourselves. no comparison with holocaust. it's too easy to say ther's nothing like it. another way not to take responsibility

  • mmkay, you win...

  • areyouAmerican Ted406?please tellme.Isound abit like abitch:-)butI'm not.I'm just sosorry whenIread theveryfew articules about the wounded and the psychological problems of thevets.what do youngpeople think now?Iwas an exchangestudent in the Us in2002,cameback home1month before the war began, most of my schoolmates had enrrolled in the national guard topay foruniversity and Iwas just so sorry.people who go die there are in their twenties likeIam,Iwish somany things were different.

  • i was born in massachusetts, lived for a while in ireland, and now i live in florida(im 18). my father was a marine in vietnam.

to tell you the truth, i dont think most young people care about it that much, but i also think that in general people are against the war. however, i also think that people sterotype americans as fat, rich, war-mongers. and we're not. the majority that is.

  • how are elections going on? they keep reporting about a lot of gossip and no political issues sounds like they only care about impression. in italy there's a lot of shit going on with the government what do they say about it? are they laughing at italy as usual?

  • not me vulgar racist. and nobody said italy was perfect. again, criticising others is the best useless way to get over with it. take a walk in your head you'll know everything about trash.

  • whoaaaaaaa. easy borbnert. chill out buddy.

the primaries are kind of a joke, theres still 11 months to go and a different cadidate wins each one. really? i hadn't heard anything about that. whats happening?

  • a catholic man of the government and his wife were accused of corruption or something like that. they expected the gov to support them but it didn't- thank god, at least this, so they voted no in the parliament and the gov fell.

  • well i am German and i know what it means to be called the evil at all - even if i did not experience the 2nd WW (cos i was sperm in the testicles of my daddy and even he was a baby in those times).

"oh, you are German: HITLERHITLERHITLER", although Hitler was a born Austrian man like Arnold... but who cares...

What I wanted to say: Thanks America to take over the role of the global bad guy. I feel sorry for you, but thanks (i know what that global image means).

  • just like 1984, we are in perpetual war

  • bruce is a legend

  • To The Lost Ball In High Grass: I love my country, I just wish I didn't have to watch Conservative America ruin this great country,no doubt I'm sure you'll see to it that you help them-U're an idiot, everyone knows it:)

  • The only difference, between Iraq & Vietnam,& it's small support by the American public is there is NO draft,if there were you'd see protest and riot in the street, over what we'll do & what we won't!U can't figure out the difference!

  • Also, get off this so sad I don't want to win. The definiton for insanity: doing something again, and again, & expecting different results.U cannot occupy a country in the middle of a civil war, especially when the friend & foe LOOK THE SAME.Remember Vietnam..oh that's right you still think we won. Also anytime you want to take your MBA, and compare it with my Y.T.D.,I'd love to,TITLES & PLAQUES are for losers who think they're important!Take Care buddy:)

  • Well the surge is something different, and you are probably mad as hell that it is working. Do your research on Vietnam. The enemy years afterward said they were going to give up but they hung in there because of the media and people like you gave them strength to hang in there and keep fighting. So keep up the good fight now. Al Qaida is very happy you are!

  • Man you're so lost, again the surge may be working on some level, either way,the cost has NOT in any way justified the outcome. If you can't figure out that the American public had nothing to do with our loss in Vietnam, then you are as I've said before "lost ball, high grass"...deemed unfindable:)

  • Well I will end this because your ignorance and blame America first is really getting old. Anyways, I am not saying the American public, I am saying those like you that blame America for everything. You would have let Hitler do his thing because you did not want to get involved. We would all be speaking German if your attitude prevailed back then. Have the last word. You need it.

  • This is funny,if anyone in this arguement, ties together with your beloved Hitler and his Nazi's it's YOU.Again you haven't done your homework: you're not saying the American public,NEWS BULLETIN: Over 68% of the country wanted out of Vietnam, and felt like it was a mistake and an unjust war, with dyer consequences,I will leave this with,if you think WWII,& Iraq, are in any way similar, you've prooved to be dumber than I thought?

  • U just don't seem to have the ability to communicate on my level. Has anyone on here ever seen a fact presented from Mr. "reason&facts"?? LOL! Try reading a book or two.You have a real problem with referencing education in EVERY POST!,U must have failed miserably with yours,& have been hung up on it ever since. What a pity...HA!

  • I would be happy to throw my MBA up against your education any day. Here is a fact that I am sure you hate, Car bombings and suicide attacks down 77% in Baghdad since surge began. Operation Hammer resulted in 3 high vale Al-Qaida being caught. These are facts. And you don't like them. I want to win over there, sad you don't.

  • I've been against Iraq since day 1,it was a mistake,it is a mistake,it will be looked upon as a mistake in 20 years. Here's some facts for u:$1.9 Trillion spent;nearly 5 years later,NO end in sight.Bush's approval rating 26%Nationwide,as many people believe in ghosts..go figure.Crude oil profits up over 300% since 2000..again no end in sight..Housing market in shambles, Consumer Index predicts lowest holiday spending in 20 years.I could go on & on, but u're not able to process..SO..

  • Ladies and gentlemen, these are not assertions. These are facts, corroborated by many sources. -- Colin Powell, Feb. 5, 2003 on the "fact" that Saddam Hussein had WMD.

Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. -- George W. Bush, May 2, 2003 on the "fact" that the war was over.

Perhaps Mr. ReasonandFacts new facts are more durable than Mr. Bush's old facts.

Perhaps three more Iraqis in jail will make all the difference.

I guess time and how many tens of thousands more die will tell.

  • Did you know Vladimir Putin has a 90% approval rating in Russia? I guess with enough power you can just make up your own numbers.

  • And the Clinton appointed CIA chief said it was a slam dunk. The Butler report supported these thoughts. Would you have preferred that there were weapons of mass and they were used? I ma glad Hussein is out of power and the people have free elections. You would have left Hitler alone wouldn't you have?

  • George Tennet, former CIA Director was quoted in Bob Woodward's book "Plan of Attack" as saying it would be a "slam dunk" to convince the American people Saddam Hussein had WMD, not whether he actually had any weapons.

This is not Republican vs. Democrat, this is about people who look at War and Killing as their first choice solution to every problem.

  • Covering his ass. Never seen that before. 1st choice? I guess all the Resolutions the UN put in place that were ignored over the YEARS were a rush to war. I guess all the other countries that said they were positive weapons were there was a rush. I guess finding out that Hussein was further along in his capabilities than we thought was a rush. Hey, we both want what is best for this country, we just disagree on how it should have been done. What could have happened scares the hell out of me.

  • On may 2, 2003 the war "againt Iraq" was over. We are not fighting Iraq anymore...we are fighting isalmic extremeist. we are killing people that want more bloodshed on innocent american people. why do you have such a hard time understanding that???

  • Mr. Bush and his associates have tried out a number of focus group tested names for his wars, many with their own catchy jingle like acronyms. Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), Global Struggle Against Violent Extremism (GSAVE), recently they tried "The Long War". Like rebranding a failed toothpaste, all of these names are designed to obscure the fact that American military personal and Iraqi civilians continue to die in large number.

No mater what you call it, war is war. Dead is dead.

  • Yes. War is war = people will die and things will break.

Yes. Terroism is terroism = innocent people die because of someone's thoughts...no matter what the name is.

Lets face reality, the war on terror will last a long time, kinda like the war on drugs? This enemy does not sign peace treaties or waive white flags. As an american, i don't want to see this war fought on american soil.

  • Mr. Bush's wars are not designed to last a "long time", they are designed to last "forever". It's not war with a goal, it's war AS a goal. The goal being, as PT Barnum said, to separate suckers from their money as painlessly as possible. It doesn't matter if we kill every person in Iraq, we'll never be safe. Iran isn't trying to get nuclear weapons? Doesn't matter, they might try in 100 years, safer to kill them now. US tax money flows from civilians to the military and contractors FOREVER.

  • oh yeah...i forgot we elected adolf hitler as president. i guess the world would still be a safer place if saddam hussein and his two sons were still in power. Oh, what about that dude al-zarquwari we killed who was chopping off heads of all the those reporters and construction workers? i guess he is a better man than George Bush, right? Yeah, it's such rational reasoning to think Bush is war mongrul.

  • Sadly, yes. The world would be a safer place, both in general and specifically for Americans, if Saddam Hussein was still in power. That is why we never hear Mr. Bush ask that idiotic question anymore, because the truth has finally penetrated even the White House bunker. When you have made the world a more dangerous place than even the mass-murdering, poison gas using, butcher of Tikrit could, you have accomplished a very poor mission indeed.

  • wow, you are really smart. you are the first person that has told me the world would be a safer place with saddam hussein still in power. I wonder what you do for a living? you should be a politician, you would probably do well in washington DC. Are you a hippie by any chance, LOL?

  • Actually, I am quite a conservative person. I don't believe bumper sticker slogans are a replacement for a coherent foreign policy. I don't believe perpetual war, domestic spying, massive federal bureaucracy, colossal military budgets for obsolete weapons and obsessive secrecy make Americans safer. I don't understand the fanatical belief that George W Bush, the one person in the world who provably did NOT protect the United States on 9/11, is the only person with a plan to protect America now.

  • No Doubt-right on!That os 1 of the most amazing things I've ever heard!Bush protecting America is a complete joke. He's failed this great county on ALL fronts!

  • Stupid fucking ungrateful to their musical heritage niggers!

  • every bloody tun e i look at this reason and facts nob head is blabbing bollox - could you please just appreciate the music

  • Don't be afraid. Don't let fear control you. This includes not letting the fear that YOU perceive in others bring you down. If you're so unafraid, if you're so strong then help by being positive.

  • Rob Har What bothers me is that American soldiers have died because of rules of engagement;you seem to think our soldiers have the ethics of nazis.

  • What bothers me is that American soldiers (and Iraqi civilians) are dying for a policy that is imoral, unsustainable, designed to enrich a very small number of war profiteers and not in the best interests of the U.S. or Iraq.

I think the majority of American soldiers are trying to do the very best they can in the absolutely impossible situation their government has placed them in.

I think our political leadership have the ethics of Nazis.

  • Well said!!

  • just watch faherenheit 9/11. it says it all

  • Is it reasonable that 4,000 US troops have died, killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis? 942,636 "The Lancet", 10/11/06

Is it responsible that we operate secret prisons where people are held for years without trial or evidence?

Is it rational that the US is building 18 mil bases and a $1,000,000,000 palace in Iraq.

We want oil. The easiest way is to get it is to terrorize, torture, and kill Iraqis.

Simple reason and fact under the United States Empire.

  • Rob:DO you think the government the US is trying to create over there would be MORE guilty of terrorizing, torturing and killing Iraqis than the Hussein government that existed before it?

  • Yeah but the difference is that Saddam Hussein was the Iraqi government, it was their problem to make their own revolution, americans had nothing to do in Iraq (except for oil)...End of story.

And YES the US army is MORE guilty of terrozing, torturing and killing innocents than Saddam, your comment makes me believe brainwashing still works pretty well in the USA.

  • bonecracker you sound pretty brainwashed yourself;I'm sorry the declining influence of France makes you hate America so much

  • I absolutely don't care about the influence of France in the world, I'm not the patriotic type of person^^ French people are as stupid as Americans, they vote for liars and believe anything the media tells them...I don't hate America, I never said that but I don't understand how americans can deny that this war in Iraq is just an american invasion, killing civilians for oil and strategic influence in the middle east...Sorry if I sounded arrogant in my previous post^^

  • bone cracker I also apologize for getting personal ;that is the downside of these debates and a big danger of politics, today; "if you disagree with me,you're not only wrong, you're evil" the war's been a disaster; the soldiers ,who don't make policy, and ordinary Iraqis, are caught a Hellish situation;I believe most of the soldiers over there are good kids in an incredibly daunting situation.Take Care of yourself.

  • Totally agree with that^^ Have a nice day.

  • Yes. Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti was a vicious tyrant who had tens of thousands tortured and murdered, and directly caused (with extensive U.S. support) the Iran Iraq war with over a million deaths.

Yes, the situation is much worse now.

The situation will become unimaginably worse still if Mr. Bush proceeds with his plans to attack Iran. This could become a global conflict with hundreds of thousands of American deaths and tens of millions of civilian deaths.

  • Wasn't P-Diddy or whatever he's calling himself, and some other guy sitting there shaking their heads? In diasgreement rather then in amazement???

  • You know fear is a powerful thing sounds like it took your god fearing soul and filled it with devils and dust

  • SPringsteen was a draft dodger and cheated on his wife. He is a COWARD that can write great songs. Bring Em Home? Then what happens over there? Does he care? People were slaughtered in Vietnam after the left cowards had their way and we got out of there. Al Qaueda wnats us out of Iraq. What does that tell you?

  • You again ?!?^^

  • What does history tell you, dumbfuck? The terrorists want the US IN Iraq. They can attack them more easily there. Why fly over to the US?

  • Well. I can tell I am responding to a child since you had to resort to calling me what you did. I guess your ignorance comes from your public school education. Anyways, it is good to see that you don't understand getting a strategic position over in the Middle East and that you don't understand how important it is to Al Qaeda that we leave. You need to put your anger aside and be reasonable. Even someone like you with such poor education can do that.

  • you are a foolish person

  • Great argument!! I see you pointed to some solid facts and stats to back up your feelings. When you get out of 3rd grade and can make a solid argument, then we will talk.

  • I like how u threw out "my feelings",as if to insinuate what I've said isn't fact. Also,we can have a solid arguement, when you find a way to back up these random, pointless statements, with real"FACTS".It's clear to anyone reading these posts,I smoke u concerning intelligence, not by making things up,by providing "facts".

  • Bruce Springsteen received a draft notification when he turned 18. He reported for induction, but was ruled ineligible for military service due to a leg injury received in a motorcycle accident when he was 17.

The person who removed U.S. combat forces from Vietnam was Richard M Nixon (after killing 4 Million Vietnamese civilians and 2 million Cambodian civilians), I've never heard him described as a leftest by anyone before.

  • You believe that story about Springsteen don't you? He was going to do (and did do) whatever it took to not go. His leg injury had nothing to do with it, but if it makes you feel better about your hero, then so be it. Nixon killed that many or that many were killed when Nixon was in office? Face it, the Dems were in power when that conflict took place yet the Republicans are the evil war mongers.

  • How exactly do you know what he did to avoid the draft? By the way, my friend was nearly rejected from the Army because he broke his femur when he was 12. It took a lot of paperwork to get him through that...and he was volunteering.

Your post is nothing but assumptions.

  • Again, another post from a guy who hasn't checked his facts....Bruce didn't dodge the draft,he failed his physical, ALSO-FYI: Since then he saved the V.V.A. helping former Vet & founder Bobby Muller create a multimillion-dollar annual budget and a Congressional Charter. Muller himself said "Without Bruce there would be NO V.V.A." Next time you open your dick hole, make sure it's not full of shit.....

  • I didn't say you said he destroyed it??Where do you see that in my post? You obviously aren't bright enough to see my connection regarding him saving the VVA,and the draft dodging. The point:He cared enough to help, and raise money for a cause he believed in.If you at this point aren't able to see Vietnam was a mistake then you've learned nothing from"reason & facts"of the past.If your sure he dodged-quit making accusations, and supply some proof.

  • I can see that Vietnam had the enemy on the ropes but they hung in there because the knew the media over here was helping them win. Just like the media and people like you are helping Al Qaeda today.

  • If you believe in the war, turn off your computer, and get to Iraq, follow the propaganda, let your government, and Sean Hannity think for u.God help you, you're a lost ball in high grass, the lawn boy couldn't find you.People would laugh you into the ground hearing you argue that we had them on the ropes in Vietnam, if that were true, then we would have stayed there and finished the job.The truth is,they finally figured out they were fucked, looks like you never did...Your a joke man..LOL

  • So one has to be a cop to believe in the police? Another ignorant statement on your part. Have you seen any interviews of the enemy from Vietnam? Thay say for themselves that they were about to give up, but hung in there because they knew people like you were helping them out. Your immature comments explain your anger and ignorance. I will let you have the last word, because it is clear you need it. I want us to win over in the Middle east, sad you do not.

  • where on earth do you get that he dodged the war? have you not heard him speak about the fact that he went for his physical and they had failed him? they rejected him.. listen to the performance of the river from live 1975-85 cd..

  • Of course he is going to get up on stage and did everything he could to avoid getting drafted. Would fake anything possible. No he is not going to do that, that would cost him money and the image that he is so pro American. Sorry, he did everything he could to dodge and he did.

  • Bruce Springsteen's draft issues have been written about in multiple biographies by a range of people from loyal friends to bitter enemies. I'm not aware anyone has a different story to tell.

In any event, the draft is clearly unconstitutional given the 13th Amendment, clause 1: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

  • Its true patriots like you that would say that men should not be forced to serve and defend their country. Your post above makes me sick. It is obvious you are a member of the blame America first crowd and that we are the cause of all the problems. I would bet that you are of the belief that we deserved 9 11. You cry and thousands of fallen soldiers over the last century or two gave you that right to blame America first and now you spit on them under the guise of sticking up for them. Sad

  • I am curious as to why the second anyone dares to question the legitamacy of the war they are attacked with the sad events on 911. The same events that were used to stir up jingoism to justify Iraq (Afghanistan I can understand) and are accused of spitting in the face of serving troops etc etc? Before you ask or start with me, my brother is in Iraq at the moment, has been several times before.

  • SO by having your brother over there, you have some special opinion? No you don't. If you read the other post below it was not about Iraq 100% but how the tree hugger blames America for everything. There are to many out there that blame our country (and yes we do have faults) before they even think of looking at the massive faults of the other countries. Why you can't understand that is beyond me.

  • Since you brought up 9/11, which Mr. Bush continues to use to justify attacking Iraq, perhaps you can explain:

    9/11 Hijackers (from 9/11 rpt) 15 Saudi Arabia 2 UAE 1 Lebanon 1 Egypt

    9/11 Planners 2 Kuwait 1 Saudi Arabia

We are killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, yet we continue to supply advanced military hardware to all of the nations listed above.

    Does this make America safer?

  • The responsibility for the American disaster in Vietnam stretches across six Presidents and 15 Congresses of both major parties. The problem is not Republican or Democrat. The problem is a mistaken belief that Americans are either morally justified or made physically safer by intervening in foreign countries, taking their resources, selling and/or giving them huge stockpiles of advanced military equipment, assassinating their political leaders and killing large numbers of their citizens.

  • Not this draft dodger bullshit again??Bruce dodged nothing! If your going to spread false rhetoric, have a bigger message than beating up on a great American songwriter like Bruce. Also, cheating on his wife??Where do you come up with this stuff? If you don't know him personally, then you're just making shit up, and even if he did,so what-HE'S HUMAN, everyone makes mistakes,it has nothing to do with his opinion on the loss of life-AMERICAN LIFE-in some foreign country over money and oil-GET A GRIP!

  • No. People like you follow him blindly. He can play a guitar, write a song so he most be perfect with politics. He cheats on his wife, but that must be good because he can write a song and play the guitar.

  • I haven't followed anything blindly, quite the opposite.I agreewith his politicsbecause of what hesays, notwho he is.Again, here you are makingthings up,hecheats on his wife? You continue tosay things that aremade upwithout ever providing any proof?Iraq is just like Vietnam, you can stay there 2more days,or 20 more years and you'll achieve the same result. What do you win, when you win?No one can answer that question.

  • Absolutely awesome - he is THE utimate BOSS

  • Look at those stupid ass niggers not even clapping..

  • That was one half-assed standing ovation for such a brilliant song... *sigh*

  • I agree. You notice a ton of people aren't even clapping or standing. Probably jealousy that even solo, Bruce can put up a better show than any of those gay R&B and hip-hop singers..

  • They probably didn't even know what he's talking about. "Huh? Bring who home? Who is this guy again?" What do they teach these kids in school? Pity.

  • well what do you expect ? it's not some generic "rave up" rap song or something. it's an actual song. haha. these fake artists don't understand that.

  • Those Grammys had all these overblown, overproduced, pyrotechnic performances with bikini dancers & lip synching, and The Boss just went up with a harmonica & an acoustic guitar & just threw down & walked off. It was just so shocking to see actual music performed with true emotion. Say what you want about his voice, his heyday, his politics. The performance was totally pure, & that is rare.

  • Fourtwen: Jesus Christ, that was well said.

  • This amazing human being has produced a catalogue of music unparalled by others over a 35-year period. Let's enjoy his music and get out of it while we can.

  • This is why he's the Boss. Pure musical talent, not fake like those in the crowd

  • who's the blonde whore beside Bono?

  • pure music yet again from the boss.

  • this is MUSIC.

  • is this the video george galloway was talking about?

  • Amazing! Such a powerful song. One of the bosses best
